Bagelsmith is my absolute favorite bagel spot. No matter when I come in the bagels are absolutely delicious. And so is basically everything else. Always take up the chance to try their lemonade. The wait time is annoying (sometimes) but that's what happens when Williamsburg is filled to the brim with obnoxious hipsters but honestly nothing can stop me from coming here. I'm also a part of belly so every time I visit I check in and get 5 points that accumulate and add up to some pretty cool freebies (get 75,000 points and you can arm wrestle the owner for part of the business... I've heard the own is a tough cookie so I won't be aiming for that lol). Also, the woman Lilly in front is an absolute sweetheart. I've lived in the neighborhood just about a decade now and have really been so sad to see the decline of this place. I leave this review only with the intention of encouraging the owner towards better management. The staff here are just so inconsistent. I don't know if it's high turnover or what, but a lot of people making the sandwiches are either clueless or careless. I had to stop coming because 8/10 the simplest orders were always wrong. The quality of the bagels have also become inconsistent. When they're good, they are so good. But there is no excuse to serve a customer a stale tasting bagel on a weekend morning at a busy shop like this. I've also been served inedible grilled chicken that tasted like it had been placed in a microwave for an hour to die. Went into bagelsmith again, and the same white woman with black glasses, was not wearing a mask and working the cash register w/ absolute disregard. She was literally coughing as she was preparing food, and then working the cash register a couple feet away from people with no mask. I'm done with bagelsmith. read more

I LOVE this place and I am so happy they are here! And open 24 hours!!! Everyone that works there is very friendly. They have a nice selection of bagels with interesting flavor combinations - like pumpernickel with onion, garlic or everything, sourdough poppy, egg, egg sesame, etc, etc. Their cream cheese options match with the bagel options. My favorite - jalapeno cheddar (it's pretty hot!!). Their lunch is soooooo yummy. I had an egg salad and it was quite tasty. Desserts are decent - I had the rugelach - and the iced coffee is great. read more

They should have a banner outside that says "Need a sick day tomorrow? Eat here today!". I work and have friends in the neighborhood, so have been there many times. Breakfast, lunch, late night. So, at it's very best, their food is truly "good". Good as in just good. Not delicious, not great, not awesome, nothing to write home about. Their prices, I would have to say, are above above average for what they serve. Been there a few times in the last several weeks. For honest fear of getting sick I made my last trip. I don't rate places based solely on one experience. Here are my last few: -Guy behind the counter with his hand wrapped in gauze with blood oozing out. Were they THAT short on help or just too cheap as employers to send the guy to get it stitched up? (He didn't help me, otherwise I'd never have eaten) -Next time back I got slimy slimy pastrami and rotten tomatoes. Blech. -Went in the other day to find the counter guys using dirty knives on an even filthier cutting board. (Seems that maybe the mysteriously absent cut hand guy was the only one who cleaned- hope he didn't lose his hand due to infection. Or maybe the boss canned him for working too slow with a finger dangling? Having worked food service for years I didn't want to know what the floor behind the counter or inside the coolers looked like. Kitchen Nightmares should check this place out. Guaranteed "money" shot of Gordon Ramsey puking in a trash can in a corner. To sum it up: If you're in the area and can't find a slice, a deli, or ANYTHING else go for it. Guess the owners of this spot do a daily horse and buggie trek upstate to milk the cow by hand and bring milk and cream back to their humble Williamsburg location. At 2am they were open and I got a very good turkey sandwich with apple and bacon and honey mustard. I ate the sandwich in the window and saw some strange people. Then two girls sat next to me. One said to the other she was a small town girl and that she likes all the wrong guys and needs to expand her horizons. Then she said something about maybe needing to date latin men. They both giggled and in the window I realized they were looking at me. Since she was beat by the small town ugly stick two or three times, I felt awkward. But I had half a sandwich left. I had a huge dilemma. I had to decide whether to awkwardly just fling myself off my seat towards the door or to stay and eat my sandwich. The sandwich was good. Really good. I kept eating and acting as if I didn't hear the random comments in their conversation four feet away from me. I ate quicker, like a wolf was preying on me. When I got to the last bit, I didn't even chew, I swallowed the sandwich and I got out of that place before I became hipster food. open 24-hours. morgan loves it. and she probably won't write a review but she will vocalize her accolades. to the point that you just gotta go check it out. i just had a cup of coffee but morgie devoured her bagel. a good sign. the house coffee was quite flowery. a central-american blend is what they serve. there wasn't any other choice really because i don't do flavored coffee really. If you like mild coffee though, you could get with this stuff. it's pretty darn good. light enough that the flavors really come through. four benches for seating and morgan and i occuppied two of them so we could catch up on each other's lives post-earl greyhound concert. then when we got through being serious, i took to waving and smiling at people through the giant window. it was most entertaining! tally of reactions from waving through bagelsmith window: 4 smiles 3 wave-backs 7 looks of confusion will be back in the area for a few more shows next month. and looking forward to increasing the tallies in this new form of entertainment. :) stay tuned. I love Everything bagels. They have good ones here. If I'm around, I'll come here for my favorite - Toasted Everything with cream cheese, and hopefully grab one of the few seats in the front by the window, and go. to. town. I stopped into this place for the first time a little over a week ago, on my way to meet my friend at the Knitting Factory for a show. I originally went in for a basic toasted bagel with peanut butter, but then I saw the ridiculous amount of cream cheeses staring at me from inside the display cooler. So, I decided on a toasted sourdough bagel with sundried tomato & basil cream cheese, and I'm so glad I did! I'll be back in Williamsburg in a few weeks, and I think my pre-show dinner plans are sorted. The bagels were alright here and they had so many cream cheese options... But I thought Peter Pan did a way better ham and cheese breakfast bagel sandwich than Bagelsmith. Cream cheese is a must here for a boost in flavor, that may have been my mistake. I got regular cheese and the ham was ice cold so that threw everything off. This was also the only place I ordered food in NY where everything felt incredibly rushed and the employee's annoyed. I get it, this is a before work stop but it's not my problem you hate your job. my favorite bagel place ever. um, they're a little disorganized with knowing who's order is which, also there's no place to eat or wait, and also you might be outta there in 30 seconds or 20 minutes with no real reason either way. best spreads, they actually have whole wheat everything bagels, and their drink selection is endless. they are literally on the cutting edge of beverages... you will see things there that you didn't know existed, then a few months later they're everywhere. this has happened to me with the blueberry snapple and the xxx vitamin water. bagelsmith has obviously invented a time machine that tells you what drinks you will love in the future. oh and i just found out they're open 24 hours on weekends! woop woop! read more

This place give me THE BEST FEELINGS EVER. I am not kidding. If I have an awful day I will get on the train go to Hipster Hell and get myself an everything bagel with half jalpeno and cheddar cream cheese half bacon scallion. I discovered the Bagel Smith a year back when I was living in Williamsburg and I cannot tell you how many times this place saved me. It's cheap. It's open 24-hours, I work insane hours so this is A++ for me. They are fast, and the staff is pleasant even if it's 5am. AND for the piece de resistance THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS...WITH NO MIN. Walking back home, drunk at 3:45 AM, apparently stumbled into Bagelsmith, somehow spewed an order of bagel with cream cheese out of my mouth, paid for it, and proceeded to fall asleep at home without even eating it. Woke up the next morning, didn't remember going to Bagelsmith at all, but the bagel was still amazing the morning after. Bagelsmith rules, period. Open 24 hours, fresh bagels all the time, and a plethora of different cream cheeses to choose from, and in addition, a ton of sandwiches, coffee, tea, and more to choose from. You can't really go wrong with $1 bagels, but their cream cheese is an extra $2 which I think is ridiculous but worth it I guess, since it's homemade (i think). Why you would go to the new Dunkin that opened up next to me is a mystery - get fresh bagels and good service here. read more

Bagels are okay but a white lady was rude to me when I asked if I could get a second tea bag for my large tea purchase. I got charged extra for a large tea with ONE bag! They don't just add water on a large coffee or a large juice vs small. Why should I be ok with paying extra for a super watered down tea?! I stumbled upon Bagelsmith while in Brooklyn, and boy am I glad I did! The bagels are delicious, well-shaped (generously-large overall without much of a hole in the middle, which is perfect), and covered with toppings. They made me a vegan sandwich that really hit the spot and I took an extra bunch of bagels back to DC with me. Even if you are not in the neighborhood, Bagelsmith is worth traveling to. read more
