This is what we have been waiting for in Boston, wish there were more locations, I'm sure that will happen. We got egg sandwiches and a standard everything toasted with cream cheese to test that out. The egg sandwiches were great, amazing, but the everything toasted with cream cheese is so perfect, the chewiness, airiness and flavor is just outstanding. We can't wait to come back again. Got there a little after 9 and only had to wait 15 minutes or so. Totally with it read more

Let me just get it out of the way right now; using the period in which someone is born to insult them only means you're old and cantankerous, or young and ignorant. That particular millennial behind the counter has given nothing but fantastic and comforting service. Perhaps you approach said millennial with a preconceived notion and a transparent crap attitude, thus ruining your own experience like a cup of decaf. With that out of the way, Mark (that tatted millennial) has always been a welcoming sight behind the counter, and the bagel sandwiches have been nothing but spectacular. New York or not, they taste delicious with a chewy exterior and a soft doughy body. The combination of almond butter, egg and bacon with avocado is more than worth the wait that everyone with an opinion is complaining about. Here's an idea; bite the bullet or learn to make your own sandwich in the comfort of your uggs and oversized flannel pj's. Keep up the great service and bagels! read more

Delicious bagel with tasty scallion cream cheese. Fancy orange juice. With a small tip, I paid over $8.00 for a bagel with cream cheese and an orange juice. I'm all about paying for food that is worth it, but I found this place ridiculously overpriced for a bagel, albeit a delicious bagel, cream cheese mixed with some scallions and an orange juice. read more

Honey with rosemary cream cheese and the eggspanola are great!!! The bagels are super fresh but make sure you go early since they run out quickly on weekends. read more

Exodus and bagelsaurus are my favorite bagels in Boston. Nothing beats a NY bagel, but Bagelsaurus is pretty darn good. Definitely worth the wait! Next time I'll get the dozen bagels to skip the line though. read more

I don't mind paying a higher price for high quality bagels, esp from a mom and pop shop. However, I do not want to stand in line for 30 minutes to grab just straight bagels and leave. They have a "grab bag" line that you can go to and buy a grab bag of bagels. If you want anything besides that, you have to wait in line behind everyone else. It's extremely frustrating to have to wait behind everyone who wants to order bagel sandwiches or wants their bagels toasted. I believe they would have higher ratings and customer satisfaction if they were willing to change the "grab bag" line into a "bagels only" line. And even make it a cash only line. Customers would be more willing to have cash on them knowing that they can walk in and get bagels straight from the shelf to the bag, pay cash and leave. I know I for one would be a regular if they were willing to do this. For now, I'll only stop by if I have the time to wait around. read more

People who don't eat carbs are seriously missing out. Just thinking about these bagels is making me hungry again.

Yes, the bagels are good (though not great - a bit too hard on the outside for my taste). We had the salmon sandwich, which was delicious! I agree the bagels are pricey, but the biggest downside to this place is the extremely inefficient service. There is a ton of folks behind the counter to help, however the line moves super slow. I heard they are going to add a second cashier, which may help, but I think it may be more important that they get help from someone who knows how do organize a better system! I think we will wait a while to go back and hopefully systems will improve! read more

I happened to be in Porter Square running errands early in the morning when I saw a line coming out of this place. Having not had breakfast yet I decided to check out if the bagels were any good. The line moves fast and employees are very friendly and quick in preparing the food. I ordered a toasted sesame bagel with salted butter. The bagel was good but nothing amazing given the long lines. I've yet to try any other bagels in the area so I don't know what the competition is like though it seems donuts are a bigger deal than bagels in this state. Would be back if there isn't a long line, otherwise I'd rather go somewhere else for a quick breakfast. read more

the bagelsaurus went extinct from waiting in long lines good bagels AND good coffee IMHO up to you whether or not it's worth it to wait in line, simons and bourbon coffee are both close and similar quality read more

Really delicious bagels and spreads. Some drawbacks are the incredibly long line and the price for some items. $11 for a takeout bagel sandwich seems a bit much but worth a splurge when you're in the mood. Just remember to go during off hours! read more

After hearing so much I finally made the trip. I arrived early, 10-15 minutes, and was met with a hefty line; okay, these bagels must be friggin good. The line crawled along and I finally arrived at the counter. I ordered a half dozen, a coffee, and t-Rex. I got home to shares these delights with the family only to find the TRex was a bagel and lox, bummer. The bagels were good but I'm not sure they are worth the lines and price. They need a more efficient accurate expedite process. read more

I've not had a bagel in Boston since moving here since I hail from NJ/NY and didn't think anything here would live up to the word bagel. But today Bagelsaurus changed that. My coworker Jolly gave me the insight to check this place out and from reading yelp reviews I learned I'd best wake my carb-ivore self as early as possible to get there before the rest of Massachusetts woke up. I arrived around 9:15 am and the store was already bustlin but it wasn't too crazy. I was able to score a table for 4 by the window within 5 mins so that was already a great start to the experience. Back up, walking into the store was a great experience as well. It's just adorable with their dino logo and the way the store is designed is right up my aesthetic. Their menu is enticing and hard to choose just one item but I went for a sea salt bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese and the bf went for a cheese bagel with avocado and bacon. The bagel is just perfection. Perfect texture, chewiness and paired with the special cream cheese it's just too good not to finish in one sitting. Was it on the expensive side? Yea I guess. But I don't think that is a barrier to business at all cause if the product is worth it then it's a non-issue. So happy to have found this place! read more

See all

Wait seems long for bagels, but wasn't disappointed. Good bagels, but speciality bagels with stuff on them (ex. Sandwiches) aren't worth the wait. I'd go again for bagels to get their dozen grab and go option (no line!) but not to wait for a bagel with stuff on it. read more

When I was working in the area, Bagelsaurus was probably my favorite repeat lunch spot. There are so many options to build your own or get a pre ordered sandwich, but I'm basic and pretty much always got either the hot or cold smoked salmon. As someone who doesn't particularly like bagels, I really enjoyed the bagels here; in combination with their high quality ingredients, they really made some of the most delicious sandwiches. I'm going to miss trying to eat here before they sell out everyday. read more

Best bagels I've ever had. I highly recommend the cheddar garlic (sold on Friday through Sunday) and the scallion cream cheese, but all the flavors are great! The lines are...bad, but bring a book and you'll be fine. Once you get to the counter, service is quick, accurate and friendly. It doesn't take too many visits for the employees to learn your name and your favorite order! read more

just tried this place for brunch and it's an easy 5 stars! good bagels are just hard to find in the boston area. i like them chewy and dense, more like ny style bagels vs. the often breadier versions we find here. only brueggers and finagle are kinda like that, but bagelsaurus is right on point. i tried an egg sandwich on poppyseed with roasted tomatoes sans the mustard butter that it normally comes with. each ingredient was really high quality- the cheddar for example, was sharp and aged. i loved the roasted tomatoes, which are an extra $2 (a bit too high for the add-on, if you ask me, but in the end worth it). the egg was cooked so well, just slightly soft in the center. the sandwich had a great chew and it was actually quite heavy and filling. i also split a sesame bagel w/ scallion cream cheese (we wanted to try both ways!) and liked this even more than the egg sandwich. they are super generous on cream cheese though, so i had to remove some, but again, good quality stuff. the bagel was also amazing, chewy and just right. cold brew coffee = the best cold brew i've ever had. again, quality. they sold out of bagels while we were there, maybe 3 hrs before closing and when we arrived, the line was out the door. this place just recently opened and it's already a big hit- now i know why! bagelsaurus is THE best bagel in and around boston. so glad we finally have a solid bagel shop in town! bravo, bagelsaurus. read more

I'm not the biggest bagel fan ever but this place does it right. Fried eggs and avocados? What more could a Yelper want...

Good bagels. Unfortunately, they messed up the order and gave us a salami bialys instead of the chocolate chip pretzel, which is the only reason we went there today (it's only served on Mondays). We can't eat the bialys so money down the drain. Check your order before you leave! read more

Best bagels in the area-- kind of pricey but totally worth it. There is almost always a line out the door, and the interior is very small, so I would recommend going early. read more

Finally a good bagel place in the Boston area. Its a little expensive but its worth it. Went simple and got an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. The amount of cream cheese was incredible. The bagel tasted fresh and I could tell it was made in house. If I'm ever in the area I will make sure that I stop by. Highly recommended it. read more

I had the special bagel sandwich, which was an egg with olive spread, feta, Parmesan gremolata and avocado on a seeded wheat bagel. AMAZING. Their cold brew coffee is really good too. read more

Small bagel spot in Cambridge that has a very modern and clean look to it. I had the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and it turned out to be filling yet soft and light. I come from Brooklyn, a city where we pride ourselves in our great bagels, but this place can go head to head with any other bagel spot. The prices are more than city prices but it's well worth it, about 4.50 for the bagel I got. read more

Those sandwiches definitely taste good. My favorite is the breakfast one. No coffee :( Always long lines even in winter.

Bagelsaurus might be the best in Boston. Far from the supremacy of a New York or Montreal bagel though.

Creative bagel flavors, spreads, and sandwiches. Coffee was good and service was quick. Excellent little spot.

Crazy long line out the door but well worth the wait. A bit overpriced for the bagel sandwiches but so so good and will return

The bagels at this place make you question why you eat anything else. I can't even pick a favorite one - it's all amazing.

Best bagel sandwich! My favorite is Hot smoke and Eggspanola. I alway like to stop by when I am in Cambridge. Recommended

The bagels are the perfect size, crisp on the outside, and just soft enough inside. The mustard butter is an amazing invention that makes the egg, cheese, and avocado sandwich so delicious. If you go on the weekend, be prepared to wait outside and to take your order to go. Every time I have gone on a weekday morning around 9 or 10, it has been a much shorter wait. The wait is worth it! read more

Words cannot describe. Eating the Eggspañola is an out of body experience. The coffee is good too.

Big (NY-style) bagel fan here. These bagels were pretty good, but not as fluffy and doughy as I'd like. More importantly though, the wait on a Sunday at 10 was ridiculous (25 mins, approx) and the prices are insane for a bagel: 5.25 for a bagel with scallion cream cheese. If I were looking for a decent quick bagel, I might go here, but I'd probably check out somewhere else. read more

Yummy! A little salty for my taste with the pretzel bagel, but still loved it. Will be going back again and ordering a different bagel. Definitely check it out. Coffee was excellent. read more

Really really excellent bagels. They're a little larger than I'd like, but otherwise perfect. Very satisfying chewy/crackly exterior and open airy crumb. The olive bagels are packed with strong-tasting black olives. I love this place. Don't eat in (too tight), go as early as you can, and expect a line. About $25 for a bakers' dozen. read more

We ordered three different bagel sandwiches and were surprised to find the bagels too chewy to eat. What's more, we were suggested to try bagelsaurus from friends who also are obsessed with Kupels bagels - so they definitely know good bagels. Perhaps it could have been an off- day here. read more

BEST BAGELS I VE EVER HAD!!! And the staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and fast. thank you guys!!!

These bagels are a religious experience. They're just...perfect. My favorite recently is the onion bagel with scallion cream cheese. However, if you're feeling like you want a little protein in there, try a seeded wheat with house-made almond butter. You really can't go wrong, but be sure to get there on the earlier side before they sell out! read more

FINALLY A NEW YORK STYLE BAGEL!!! So long finagle a bagel, brueggers, and god awful dunkin donuts! These are so delicious!! The texture is perfect, the chewiness is perfect! Bagels are pricey but I would rather go here less often and get absolutely great bagels than eat mediocre bagels more often. read more

Daily special Eggspanola. Over med egg, maplebrook Feta, pimenton aioli , parsley gremolata, on seeded wheat bagel. Excellent!

The best bagels in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, or Brookline. My only wishes are that there were more of their stores so that more people could share the love; and that they could deliver in bulk to, e.g., corporate events. All in due time, I'm sure. read more
