I've been here a few times and the service and food seems to be hit or miss. It was a big miss this time. Cashier was unfriendly and I seemed to be a burden to them. Food was terrible. The gold standard for New York City bagels is that they be boiled before baking and that they be hand-rolled. The New Bagel World in Central Valley comes close to making authentic tasting NYC bagels, even though they're not hand-rolled. I come here for bagels and spreads but the shop has wide range of other options including omelettes, breakfast wraps and wraps, paninis, heroes, salads, and, of course, coffee and tea. One thing I particularly appreciate is that they make fresh squeezed orange juice. Not surprisingly, they carry a full line of Boar's Head cold cuts and cheeses. The store is relatively small and at times can get very crowded. There are a few tables so you are better off buying food to take out. I'm pretty fussy about bagels and I'm glad there is finally one nearby that I enjoy. read more

Went here today to pick up breakfast for my family. The female who was either the owner or manager was so unbelievably nasty to her staff. I watched in disgust as she talked down to them, coached them on what they were doing wrong in front of other employees and customers. Frankly she made me so uncomfortable. I will travel to route 17m which is further to avoid supporting this nasty women's business. I truly feel bad for her staff, they deserve a better environment to work in and not to be disrespected and treated so poorly. read more

I ordered an italian combo on a bagel (boars head meats, fresh bagel) and it was delicious and was made in a very timely manner. I've been here three times. On none of those occasions have the bagels been fresh. A fresh bagel should not be chewy or hard to bite into. It doesn't appear that they make them fresh daily. There is another location with the same, who's bagels are consistently fresh; or at least they taste fresh. I was excited to have a bagel place close by but I rather take the drive instead of getting day old bagels. If you've just opened an establishment, it should be top notch. Make only what you think will be sold. If they are fresh maybe consider a different method because the bagels are not well made. I hold the standard high...no matter where you are in NYC, you can typically find a good bagel place. This wouldn't even compare. read more

I've given them a few try since they opened & I just can't anymore. The bagels are made at the Monroe, NY location & brought over, so you are getting day old bagels. I've ordered breakfast sandwiches from them & have had to ask them to melt the cheese onto the taylor ham. If I don't they just throw a piece of cheese after they have cooked the ham. Today I decided to grab lunch from them & the roll is stale, the lettuce looks old & the tuna has to much mayo. During their peek times, there are too many people behind the counter & they are tripping over each other. This review it JUST for the Central Valley location. The best bagels in the area You can tell a lot about how a bagel is going to taste by the way it pulls apart. These bagels remind me of some of the best bagel shops in Brooklyn. Fresh and hot are always the best way to eat them. My favorite flavors are egg and super egg. Their mini bagels are excellent - just wish they made mini egg bagels too. We buy their cream cheese because it's much tastier than what you can buy in the local stores. The staff is polite and attentive and the store and display case always spotless. read more

Bagels are not the freshest, salads don't look great or super fresh I wanted to order egg salad and whitefish salad and lox on a Sunday morning but saw the salads in the case and passed. When you go to a bagel store and pay a premium you want the salads to look fresh the looked slimmy you also want the fresh bagels if I wanted almost fresh ones Ill go to ShopRite. They use acme lox out of a package. I saw the girl weighing out 1/4 packages there. She was putting in bits of lox not slices into these pre made packages no slices not a fresh salmon .If I got a premade lox package like this I wouldn't be happy I 'll pass. I got 2 sesame bagels plain and a everything bagel toasted with butter $5.20 for this . If this was a good bagel shop I have no problem paying but imo its not. To bad cause the area could use a top notch bagel shop not mediocrity. Never had there eggs sandwiches they have a very small griddle where the make eggs . Been there a few times and I haven't been impressed. I give it one star cause I don't think its good sorry. Very overpriced. Went in for breakfast and ordered a $5.79 bacon egg and cheese bagel (yeah, I know, almost $6 for a breakfast sandwich). I was asked what kind of bagel I wanted, and I asked for an Asiago bagel. When it comes time to pay, the screen at the register says $5.79 sandwich, and $1 custom item. I asked what that was, and she said it was because of the Asiago bagel. I pointed out that it is not noted on the menu, nor did she tell me it was extra. I've ordered a dozen bagels there many times, and was never charged extra for the Asiago bagels. Why is it more when getting an already overpriced sandwich? Overpriced for a wrap or bacon and egg sandwich. I love the Mexican wrap however, the past two times I've ordered it, it's a wrap, however not the description on the menu. The Mexican wrap is sausage, scrambled egg, cheese, peppers, and jalapeños. However, the past time I got this wrap and this time it's been a weird combination of peppers and chicken. The last time it was just eggs and avocado with hot sauce and salsa. The Mexican wrap is good as is on the menu. If the deli does not have the ingredients at that moment then the customer should be informed. read more

I got a bagel with cream cheese and a Starbucks Frappaccino and they charged me for a Smoothie at $12! The clerk shoved the receipt in the bag and pushed it at me. I thought the price crazy so I looked at the receipt and saw that he didn't ring me up for what I purchased. When I told him that he overcharged me he actually said, "Yeah, I thought that was too much"! He had to call someone else to come fix it and when I asked to see the credit receipt I was told to check my bank account on my phone and was then ignored. The young man did apologize, but I was very off put by not being allowed to see the credit receipt. I used my debit card from a credit union and some transactions don't show up for a couple of days so I could not verify my credit. I've had other instances at this place that I was not happy about but I overlooked them, trying to give them a chance. I will not overlook this instance and I will never go back there. it's so sad. we have had great bagel places in CV in the past. i was a faithful customer. but this place, ew. it just looks dirty. behind the counter, the servers seem very confused, and the cashier is surly. bagels are stale, the fillings look crusty. the coffee constantly runs out, and the tea is never refilled. so why? why should i patronize this place? we have a lovely bakery down the street that's pristine and always incredibly clean. you can see the kitchen from the counter. it's disappointing that the simple task of making and serving bagels is seemingly so complicated. limit your menu, keep your coffee hot and ready, and your condiments refilled. there's really no excuses unless you just don't really care. read more
