I came here with a friend and her infant to catch up on a Monday morning. We found the cafe to be quite charming, reasonably priced, and with generous portions. She got French toast (delicious, thick, and eggy) and I got a turkey egg and cheese everything bagel which unexpectedly came with breakfast potatoes. My friend also got a chai latte while I got ice water which they generously refilled a few times. You order at the counter, and they bring your food out. The waitstaff were friendly and happy to answer our questions. I liked that there was a lot of seating and even an outdoor option. The interior was charming and deceptively large given that it looks old fashioned from the outside. I enjoyed the art on display as well. This place is an absolute GEM! The vibes are amazing the staff make you feel extremely welcomed from the moment you step foot through the door. There is a reason they have signs up to kindly only stay 90 min. It's the type of place you go to and never want to leave. I had the avocado toast and it's huge! Not like a normal avo toast with only one slice, the salad is just perfection. The staff did not steer me wrong the entire time I was there. Visited on Saturday afternoon in July in hopes for their lavender latte (didn't see it on menu). Parking late started to quickly fill up and outside seatings were inviting. The interior decoration is a rustic barn-like room w/radnom art frames and plastic plants. Seats are low and the rooms is spacious. Staff immediately greeted us behind a counter w/see through fridge offering various pastries, sandwiches, juices, cakes, and tea leaves - most looked old. We ordered - Lavender latte - regular milk, no substitutions Mocha latte - iced w/ oat milk, no substitutions Cheese Danish - requested warm, crispy on outside, but dry on inside. Unfortunately, we asked for oat milk for lavender latte and regular milk for the iced mocha latte but they mistakenly swapped the milks in them. Thankfully the lavender latte was still good but the mocha latte w/oat milk did not. We waited over 20 mins for our cheese danish until I had to get up and ask for it along with letting them know the lattes were messed up. No apologetic attitude nor apologies received, and when I asked for the mocha replacement, it seemed like the exact same drink was served - same amount/ level, same ice, same exact taste - too obvious. Price to portion ratio are within standards. Hopefully the teenagers behind the counter will provide a better experience for others the future. read more

I come here for coffee and croissants every weekend. I believe they have the best coffee in Monroe. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious (I always order the egg and cheese on a croissant). Since I discovered this cafe a few weeks ago I haven't stopped going or talking about it. It's my new favorite place unfortunately a little far from my house. The food is amazing and generous. Very fresh and I love the option of salad rather than potatoes with my breakfast. The cappuccinos are served in perfect sized cute cups with a sweet little spoon. The large wood burning stove makes it cozy and silent cartoons playing on the wall, what's not to love:) my friends had danish french toast which was delicious and worth falling off your diet for!! read more

Kate, the owner, has assembled a small crew of beautiful people to fulfill your food desires. This place has been on a steady trajectory since its opening. The BEST bagels anywhere, from Davidovich Bakery NYC. Croissants are off the charts. Omelettes and soups, Avocado Toast, tarts and cookies and awesome Rugelach! In the colder months the wood stove is a perfect place to sit and relax. The combination of the wood fire and the fresh baked pastries is intoxicating. Linda, the manager, treats people like family, all the baristas are pleasant and smiling, the playlist is cool and eclectic. Rustic Framed Prints and Handmade items are everywhere. All made by local Artisans... as the name "Village Hands" would imply. Finally, don't leave with out a bag of In House Roasted Coffee Beans. If you're a coffee lover, the Ethiopian Beans check all the boxes. Village Hands is an asset to our community. I take my family and friends as often as I can.
