Bagel Time is under new ownership (Mary) and the food has gotten even better!! More variety, outside seating is so much nicer, the place is great. More varieties of cream cheese than anywhere else, new daily menu specials, and fantastic specialty breads/cookies . Mary has even put in homemade chocolates for your sweet tooth. Got a garlic bagel with tomato basil cream cheese. I'm a fan of whipped cream cheese and theirs was pretty good. They also didn't toast the life out of my bagel, just enough to warm it and the cream cheese which is how I prefer it. Bagels were pretty average though, on par with Brueggers. The coffee wasn't very good. If I lived nearby, I'd probably eat here somewhat frequently. read more

These might be the best bagels you can get in Worcester. For most that's not saying much. I do however love a place that has more than 4 flavors of cream cheese! And has them all freshly made and ready to take home too? Yum! What I can gripe about is coming in and standing in line looking at all these lovely bagel flavors like "Garlic Spinach" but they never seem to have them or even make them at all anymore. It makes me so sad face. I can get a plain bagel with cream cheese at dunks but coming to a cute place like this I hoped for yummy variety. Call me picky but i'd totally pay a little extra for the different stuff!. Unfortunately the iced coffee is horrendous so you really go for the sandwiches which are very good and made to order. Seems like they've stopped boiling the bagels as they are now large and bready, lack the chew of a real N.Y. bagel. Went there at 9 on a week day and they were already out of plain, poppy, sesame. The clerk lectured me about calling first if I wanted a dozen. Both recent times they put the bagels in a bag barely able to hold the 6 or 12 purchase..one wrong move and one would escape. Really nice soft bagels, I was there 6:30 AM and the bagels are there bagels are the softest ones I have had to date. The ladies behind the counters are also great. There Spinach Garlic bagel is basically "everything bagel" which you get at dunkin except this is much softer. Not a big fan of there cream cheese though which has a very soft also mousse like consistency. I got few different flavors and consistency was the same across different flavors. If you are used to real huge chewy bagels and thick cream cheese like the one you get in Long Island, NY than this place might not thrill you that much. Amazing bagels! The salt bagels are the absolute best bagels I have ever had. It's so soft a doughy and the salt ads a crunch and a delicate flavor. The ambiance is casual but bagel time is always packed with people. But thankfully most of the people take their bagels to go so the tables and counter are usually empty. Also they have homemade cream cheese that you can get on your bagel or if you just want some of their amazing cream cheese to put on your own bangles at home, they have tubs of it in the refrigerator near the drinks. This place is a great place for breakfast or lunch. You can just about any cream cheese or bagel you could ever and that's why in my opinion it's bagel time any time. read more

Soooo disappointed! I used to come hear frequently a few years back when I lived in the area. I'm working close by currently and stopped in this morning to get bagels for co-workers birthday. The place opens at 6. I was there at 6:30 and out of the 20 varieties of bagels, there were only 7 available to pick from, and one of those bins only had about 3 bagels left in it! They didn't even have some of the basic varieties like grain and sourdough. I bought a dozen bagels and 3 containers of cream cheese. The bag with the bagels was full to the top and you couldn't fold it over to carry it, you had to cradle it in your arms. I had to ask for a bag for the cream cheese! And while she was still in the process of ringing my order up, she actually stopped to fill the order of a "regular" customer - not cool. When I came here in the past, I would arrive at roughly the same time and all the bins would be full with bagels. I was so looking forward to this and sharing what great bagels Bagel Time has with my co-workers. Can't believe it has gone downhill so much! Love this place! I go here with friends at least once a week. Their bagels are fresh, affordable and filling. Try the asiago cheese bagel with plain cream cheese -- sounds boring? Spice it up with one of their flavored cream cheeses (like scallion bacon, another one of my favorites). Staff is nice and quick, even when they're busy. The reason I gave 4 stars is because sometimes the wait time is a bit longer than expected and there is limited space when it is busy. I've been coming here for almost 15 years, at least once a week, often more. I literally can't get enough of their garlic bagels with scallion cream cheese. Their other baked goods are excellent, as are their other flavors of cream cheese and bagels, but it's the garlic bagels with scallion cream cheese that I crave above all else. Sometimes I have one for breakfast, other days maybe for lunch, they're always fantastic. The staff is consistently moody and often make mistakes (which blows my mind, because they've all worked there for literally decades), they are sometimes out of popular bagels at ridiculous times (again, decades of practice?), the whole place could use to be spiffed up and dusted, I don't know if they have public restrooms (they'd look at you like you were crazy if you asked, I suspect) and they still have things on their menu board that they actually stopped selling years ago and just haven't bothered to take off their menu board for some reason...but none of that matters. Keep your eyes on the prize: the bagels. I send people here all the time; they all fall in love with the bagels - and their incredible cream cheese options. They have the most amazing bagels in the world! Their Indian harvest bagel (toasted with butter) is something I will go out of my way for. I've recently moved across the city and I will get up 45 min early to drive through extra traffic just to stop and get my morning bagel. They also have great sandwiches and baked goods. I am so drawn to this place and the bagels always have me coming back for more. Over the course of the summer, I frequently grab a bite to eat or a drink there around once to three times a week. The workers are extremely kind and get you in and out with your purchase in a fashionable amount of time. Been visiting weekly (weekends) for about a year. Consistently good bagels. I actually drive from Shrewsbury, passing multiple other bagel places to get here. Good variety of spreads (more than the normal 3-4 most places have). Very tasty, bagels go down easy, typically have blueberry, sunflower, grain or plain. Coffee is decent. I enjoy their coffee and all their bagels but my favorite would have to be the Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. Put your bacon, egg, & cheese on that and you will not be disappointed. This place is cool; the college kids kind of take a lot of space and hold up the line, but not Bagel times fault!! the bagels are super fresh and delicious; they didnt get 5 stars because the coffee is a bit over-priced; I got a large and i was done with it before my bagel was even ready; so their either going too slow or need to give more coffee! cool spot, maybe ill comeback when it is not as busy. Not what it used to be! Five years ago, I would to go to Bagel Time at least once a weekend. Now that I work in the area, I have noticed a steady decline over the past few years. The bagels have gotten smaller, much thinner and over baked. The past two times I've gotten a bagel there, I have received comments from coworkers about how thin the bagel was. It just wasn't enjoyable. Where are the plump bagels of years past? I gave them two stars because the owners are friendly and I know of the epic bagels they are capable of. They have just about anything you can think of from over 8 different cream cheese spreads its hard to choose but they all taste amazing!
