Misses- how can a coffee shop be closed on a Sunday- and BE KIND to the customers. Since ownership changed several years ago, staff is very cold, bordering on rude. I ordered a sandwich this morning, I tried to use their drive thru and sat there for about 5 minutes before getting discouraged and going to the front to just go in. I park and go inside and a woman at the front. Not the two owners, ignored me for about 5 more minutes, finally she decided to ask me "oh are you ready to order" I don't know, I've had about 10 minutes to decide, you tell me? I ordered and seconds after I order and I'm waiting she rude-fully says to me "oh hey it's gonna be a few minutes" like wow, I was just shocked. To top it off, the OWNER who I've had multiple PLEASANT interactions with shoves me my food when it's ready and says "here" thanks for the wrong sandwich anyways! Full disclosure: I went here once and was in and out in Less than 5 minutes. Walked in on a late afternoon (think sometime between 1-3pm) on a Saturday. So... Pretty dang late for a local donut shop. Most places would be sold out by then, or even closed. Nicky D's was open and had a decent (read: 5 types) donut select when I arrived. There were only a couple left of each but still happen to have options. I'm a simple person, so I got 2 chocolate frosted with sprinkles for my partner and I. We walked in, picked our donuts, paid ($2.10 btw), and walked out. Sweet and simple. That last description also makes the donuts. They were just sweet and simple donuts. Delicious in their simplicity. No muss, no fuss. I appreciate a quality simple donut where you can't hide behind fancy toppings or branding. They weren't the BEST donuts I've ever had, but they're really good, and worlds above Dunkin. The donuts were very yeasty: light and airy. The chocolate frosting was perfectly sweet for a donut. The only thing I would have changed is putting sprinkles on the whole donut, not just half. Not sure if this was done for aesthetics, but I just love sprinkles. Overall, solid donut experience. Nothing fancy and nothing fake. Appreciate this business model and product quality! Will go back for more donuts and breakfast sammies since that seems to be all the rage there. read more

So if you have the choice to get one at Nicky D's or Dunkin or a fast food chain, going to Nicky D's is a simple decision and the only right option. Why? Two eggs per sandwich, not one. The eggs are real, fresh eggs cracked and cooked to order on a flat top, not in a microwave. Choices for bread - bagels, English muffins, bulkie rolls. I'm sure all their food is pretty good for an in and out coffee shop but I only ever get the #7 on a bulkie. It's a sausage egg and cheese. I get iced coffee that tastes like a dessert. I usually drink black coffee but I can't help myself when I come here, I just think they're very good. They have a bunch of flavors you don't typically see too. They move people pretty quick through there and I used to think they had very little patience for anyone who took more than a couple seconds to look at the board for food and coffee. I've noticed over the last year they seem to be a whole lot more patient...at least outwardly. read more

A local coffee/donut shop that also has a drive through for those not wanting to come inside. Donuts were solidly good, but not my favorite. Same comment for the breakfast sandwiches. I wasn't a fan that the cheese on the breakfast sandwich was still solid instead of melted, but that's personal preference. Inside was not very large so don't expect to come in with a large party. Yes, they have amazing breakfast sandwiches with many different choices. Each one is large and loaded with 2 large eggs. The bagels are large and tasty as well. Highly recommend them. Came here for takeout breakfast on Sunday morning and pretty soon the place was packed with people waiting for their orders. It's a small place but there are still 3 tables to sit if you want to eat in. They have variety of donuts, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and drinks. We ordered an everything bagel to go and combo #7, two eggs, sausages and cheese on our choice of bread, croissant. The combo comes in a sandwich form piping hot ready in a few minutes despite busy place. The sandwich was pretty big and they used real eggs not like some places out of carton. The croissant was crispy. The sandwich was delicious, melts in your mouth. The bagel was soft inside when I cut it open so it looks fresh. I'd come back to try their other sandwiches. read more

This place has the best breakfast sandwiches around. You can't really find a menu anywhere online but now they cost four dollars. They have several different varieties but just because the menu shows it on a bulky roll or a bagel doesn't mean that's how you have to get it. You can get it on whatever you'd like. Keep in mind, as the sign says, no sandwiches after 1:30. The sandwiches are fresh made, hot and tasty with lots of egg, meat and cheese. It can be a challenge to finish one. They also of course have fresh donuts and muffins. Great place, check it out! read more

Its eggs and cheese on bulkie. Small frozen cappucino or a green tea iced tea or a regular cup of coffee. Lemon Donut (they are bigger, fresher and more delicious than Dunkin Donuts donuts). Here are my son's favorites: #5 Sandwich - Its eggs, ham and cheese on a bulkie (sometimes no yolk, depending on his mood but he eats it either way). I love Nicky D's Donuts! It's close to my house, and I make a point to stop in the drive through every day on the way to work. Their flavored coffees are brewed flavored coffee - not syrup-y, inconsistent flavored coffee like you get at chains. I loved gingerbread in the winter, and I'm on to cinnamon sticky bun now! The ladies are great - they remember what you get and always serve it with a smile. There is one girl that works there that has screwed up my order a few times (each time she was distracted talking to someone else), otherwise I would give this place five stars! The line in the drive through is manageable because if you get more than a coffee and there are others behind you, they ask you to pull around the front and then they run out your order. Breakfast sandwiches - to die for! I'm a die-hard #6 (eggs and cheese) on whatever kind of bagel they have -- they are all delicious! Great place for breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts. Way better than nasty Dunkin Doughnuts. The Dougnuts are baked fresh and taste as such. They are traditional style and very very good. The breakfast sandwiches are cooked fresh for you with real egg and not cooked in a microwave from some processed mystery meat as are Dunkins. The people are friendly and helpful. Great little place. The donuts were so fresh, the chocolate dipped donuts acutally had a delicious sugar dip and the boston cream donuts had actual chocolate frosting on top (not a sugar syrup with some chocolate mixed in). The donut holes are great. I'd stick to the donuts - haven't tried the coffee. But the breakfast sandwiches also looked good too. Semi-new to the area and I was looking for a non-chain donut place and found this place with the help of Yelp. It was more delicious then I could imagine. I tried the maple frosted donut and the northborough cream and both were fabulous. I also go the french vanilla iced coffee, it's nice and strong but tasted more like regular iced coffee. They have great iced coffee. Whenever I go I always get their French vanilla ice coffee and an everything bagel with cream Cheese which is also very good. Next time I go I'll probably get one of their sandwiches because they look good but i have heard it takes forever to have it made. On that note be prepared to possibly have difficulty placing your order. Have to say about 5 times what I wanted and had to almost beg them to pay because they always forget who has paid. I try to come to Nicky's as often as possible. You can't go wrong with anything here. The Far eastern breakfast sandwich is so so good. It is consistently the best bet for a quick/hot/bomb made to order sandwich, and the Northboro Cream donut and pistachio muffin are great. read more

The donuts are dough-larden, unappealing, and just plain bad. The store is overcrowded, which is weird given that there's a dunkin donuts right around the corner.
