I try not to write many 1 star reviews, but my experience here deserves that. I ordered a bagel and clarified it to be toasted since I know many bagel shops don't toast otherwise. Upon receiving my untoasted bagel, I brought it back and was immediately told I did not say toasted. Another worker said they would remake the bagel and after waiting for 10 minutes, no bagel. I asked them again and he said he "forgot" about the bagel. Finally, when I got my bagel it was barely toasted. If the food is bad and the service is bad, its a 1 star :) read more

Saturday morning delivery of bagels was spontaneously on the docket this past weekend. Bagel Hut had the only delivery time estimate under 45 minutes, so we decided to go for it. We were not disappointed! (And it actually came closer to 35 minutes!) We got 3 different egg and cheese sandwiches - nothing too fancy. Their DoorDash menu was pretty big, covering lots of deli categories. I wish they had other egg bagel sandwiches, but clearly we were fine concocting our own. Also, can you add sausage as a protein option? The bagels were tasty and had the right amount of "spring" to them. The sandwiches were scrumptious! Solid NY bagels with the usual array of options. Love an everything bagel with tuna, which they do well. Not a lot of seats so better for takeout, but a good option for some solid bagels. And their bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll is awesome too! read more

Our go to place when we're preparing to go out for a day of fishing on the sound. Not bad for any other day too! Their lox is expensive, but we'll worth it!! Staff are always friendly and attentive! Always trying their very best to keep everyone happy and we'll taken care of. I highly recommend it for that early morning bagel craving! For me, I normally order a toasted sunflower flagel (flat bagel) spread with plain cream cheese.....heavenly delicious! Their everything bagel, cinnamon raisin bagel, onion bagel are all pretty amazing too! If I had one complaint, it's that they don't have a better seating situation, but I guess that's not possible due to the lack of available space. Good selection of bagels in the morning, fresh and tasty. They had a lot of selection for flat bagels. Good crust on the bagels however the interior lacked the chewiness I prefer. The everything bagels had a good dose of salt which was great as many places does not add enough in my opinion. The sunflower seed flat bagels were delicious, lots of fresh sunflower seeds. The cream cheese was flavorful and looked fresh and plentiful as well. read more

Let me start by saying this is my favorite bagel place in Great Neck. Not their sister store (best bagels). Since I like it so much I been trying to get them to deliver to my job which is in great neck. Always there is so kind of excuse so I gave up on ordering from them. We have ordered from best bagels too without knowing they are owned by the same person and we didn't like it so we never ordered from them again. So I decided to give the hut a try again and Called them to see if they would deliver. They told me they will and didn't say anything else. So we get the food an hour or so later and their menu and receipt says "best bagels." We were so confused, thought we ordered wrong. If they were going to send it to another store, they should have let us know. If we wanted the food from best bagel I would have called them myself. Please bagel hut, don't do this to anyone. We keep coming back because the food is good. But you guys need to have faster delivery service and let us know what's going on. The 2 places are completely different. I never had a French toast worse than the one that was sent from best bagels in my life. And it was all cold. Thank you for bringing me my challah French toast because that is why I wanted French toast in the first place. The wait was so long and I was so hungry...... I will come back but I just had to say this experience from today cause I couldn't believe anyone would do that. Don't be surprised if you go in there .Order some bagels . Get yelled at from the guy not understanding your order . Then that same guy (JOSE) running around the store berating your person . To the owner there are a dime a dozen bagel stores to choose from . For the most part a bagel is a bagel . My Nana loves Bagel Hut. Now, if you knew my Nana, that would be enough. Case closed. Best bagels in Great Neck, best bagels on Long Island, best bagels in NY. Likely the best bagels in the country, and quite possibly the world. High praise, I know. But you don't know my Nana. She knows what's good and accepts only the best. And when I was living in the Bagel wasteland of Northern California, Nana brought bags and bags of hot Bagel Hut bagels on the plane. And even after a long day of traveling, these were still the best bagels ever. Now, they have these new mini-bagel things. Nana said they were good, but I was skeptical. And Nana was right again. All of the flavor and joy, with a fraction of the calories. Sometimes you just want a little bit of a bagel... even if it is the best bagel in the world. But in all seriousness, for me, these are the bagels that all other bagels are measured against. And truly, most bagels don't even come close. Flavor, texture, crust, and crew are all exceptional. Bagel Hut has the best BAGELS in Great Neck. However, I like the flats from Best Bagels better, they're bigger over there. The best bagels they have are multigrain, sesame, sunflower, and FRENCH TOAST! They also have the best white fish salad and their light tuna fish salad is so good I used to have my parents bring it to my dorm when I was 3 hours away in college. It's very unfortunate that this bagel shop has the best employees but the owner is just very arrogant. I was on line and the employee asked me if I needed help so the owner approached me and said that his employee was busy helping his wife ( the owners wife) so I would have to go back on line. Thankfully Bagel Hut is not the only bagel shop in this town. I have been a loyal customer for years and through this pandemic I also like to help small businesses but it seems like the owner does not even care about his business nor his employees. I would also like to include how there is sanitizer and disinfecting products on the Uber app, it's supposed to be for food. Not sure how legal that is. Burnt bagel. I got an everything bagel toasted with cc and lox, my usual and it came out burnt. Garlic pieces on the outside were ashy and inedible. The flavor of the dough was bland and texture of the bagel flat and not at all chewy as expected. Overall would not recommend and very disappointing. read more

Only give it a two star because the bagels are good. As for customer service, the absolute worst. I've been there when not crowded and there are 6 employees walking around not acknowledging you unless you speak up. Right now it's 5:20 am (business hours open at 5), and although I'm literally standing outside door, the employees are just setting up and not even opening up the door. Again, good bagels but the absolute worst customer service I've ever had... anywhere. This has been going on for so many years. Surprised management or owner has never improved it. 5:27 and finally opened up. Update: got in and asked for a flat bagel toasted. Employee said he can't toast bagel right now. I told him I guess I have no choice. He responded, "No you don't". Switching it to 1 star since while I was paying, another employee began toasting his bagel. Ugh!!! Since Bagels are the most important item being sold by a business calling themselves 'Bagel Hut' this review is strictly for that, BAGELS. The bagels are very simply awful. If you only eat Bagel Hut bagels you might never realize just how poor they are. Note: Best Bagels are just about as bad but in a different way. I enjoy searching out eating bagels so my comments are based on at least a dozen or more places on Long Island and Manhattan. If you're looking for a very good bagel locally try Bagel Man Of Great Neck. If you're looking for the very best bagels on Long Island then go to of all places, (I know, I know, I didn't believe it myself until I actually tried them), Trader Joe's!! All they'll tell you is that they get 'em from Brooklyn. True? Who knows, but I've had them at two outlets in Manhattan and the one in Huntington and they are the closest thing to the bagels you'd get in the old days! As a longtime resident of Great Neck, and graduate of Great Neck North High School, I visited Bagel Hut many times. The following is not a review of their food, rather, an incident that involved their establishment. I am compelled to post this regarding Bagel Hut's delivery on Monday morning (June 29th, 2015) at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. After rushing my wife to the hospital, I had arrived at the hospital with my wife in labor at 6:04am on Monday, June 29th, 2015. The same time their driver was delivering bagels. He had just gotten there before me, and he was using a hospital wheelchair to deliver the bagels. He was using the only wheelchair in sight. When I quickly told him that I needed it for my wife, who was in labor (she was later told, if we waited any longer, she would have had this kid at home), he told me to go inside and go get one. I tried to wrestle it from him, but he wouldn't give it up - obviously to him, his bagels were more important than the health of my wife and baby to come. I guess his delivery had to be brought in quickly - he didn't have any time to go get another wheelchair. I guess his bagels needed the hospital wheelchair - after all, that's what a wheelchair is for. After a week of settling at home, I sent an e-mail to (Steve at) Bagel Hut. After three weeks of not receiving any response, I e-mailed him again demanding a response. He quickly replied stating that he was on vacation and he would respond to me after his vacation was over - that was 5 weeks ago. He obviously doesn't care about what happened, and I am compelled to let everyone else know what happened, and how they view the public. Remember, this could have happened to any of your mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, etc. I wanted to make sure that everyone knows about this because the driver's behavior, the danger he put my family in, and my treatment afterward was/is disgusting. Had Steve actually handled this situation and responded to me, as he said he would, perhaps I would feel differently. Instead, I know the true feelings of him and this establishment. I'm done waiting for him to reply - two months later. I will never give them any more of my business. There are plenty of other bagel shops that treat their customers much better. read more

This is by far the worst bagel store I have ever ordered from. It took 1hr and 15 mins to deliver to my job which is a 5 min drive. When they finally delivered the food it was cold and the order was wrong. I called to complain and they put me on hold as I was talking. I don't want to give this place any stars. I, like pretty much every Great Neck Norther, grew up on Bagel Hut coffee, pastries, and of course, bagels (that is until we all went through our rexi phase - this is great neck after all)! I found out there are different ways to make the bagel and the water for some reason is very important to the process and the creation of it's delicious taste. Anyway they make the best bagels I have ever had. I went to delis across new york, I went to so called "Bagel stores" Bruggers comes to mind (yelch). NOne of them could hold a candle to Bagel Hut. The fish is yummy but a bit over priced. Always fresh well atleast when I got it. The coffee is good but be careful how much sugar they add for you when you request it. Sometimes they can go crazy and the bottom of your cup could end up being sugary slush. It's run like a well oiled machine, the lines goes fast and everything is fresh. (I can't speak for the bakery goods). They have been updating their image in the past few years and so has their prices unfortunately but i'm confident their employees don't get paid that well. I had a friend that worked there a while back. They got sunflower seed bagels which if it comes right out of the oven I can eat like 3 no problem nom nom nom! I was really hating on the people who work at this place at 4:55 waiting for them to open at 5:00, But once they opened (ten minutes late) and I got my bagel I was okay with them. Like most places in great neck its not as good as the people from the Town think it is. But its pretty good, Bagels are nice and warm when they come out but they are a bit small. They have some very good kinds a cream cheese and I strongly suggest trying a bunch of them out. One thing that pisses me off is that they don't have eggs. As an iconic Great Neck establishment, Bagel Hut epitomized the Great Neckian paradox: Old Jews intermingling with the young crowd, cheap food in an expensive town. I'll tell you the truth straightaway: the bagels are good. I've probably had about 50 bagels from Bagel Hut over a period of two years and I've never been terriblry disappointed. I remember once or twice I came upon a stale bagel that was stiff and hard to chew, but apparently the immensely popular tales of 4 a.m. heavenly chewiness straight out of the oven make up for those two bad bagles. Ice cawffee is popular here, probably as much if not even more than the bagels. Skip hazelnut: it's horrible here, I dislike. French Vanilla-yummers. The one time I got lox in a bagel with a cup of coffee, I paid somewhere around 10/11 bucks, and that's a little too much for me. Definitely delicious stuff here though. read more

Some places need to understand that customer service is half of the experience. The staff made me wait 1 hour for my pickup order while they helped all the customers in store before me. This was after cancelling my first order. Super unprofessional and rude. The bagels are mediocre and the sandwich fillings are skimpy. Great Bagels. I am usually in NYC and have gone through the usual H&H and Tal as well as some smaller mom and pop shops but this one takes the cake. Perfect hard outer layer and soft inside. I had the classic plain bagel with cream cheese and nova lox. Loved it. I probably shouldn't eat while driving, but with something this good, I couldn't resist. (Good thing for frequent stop lights). The staff was super friendly. Tons of bagels to choose from including flat and mini bagels. The pastries there also looked again, but I felt a little guilty in adding another 400 calories (brownie or cupcake) to my already filling meal. read more
