a cup of coffee and a bagel

Awesome breakfast cafe with unique bagel selections. Hubby and I tried their El Paso sandwich, dill bagel, and cinnamon raisin. All were amazing! Staff were also courteous and very friendly. We highly recommend this place for a different and unique taste of breakfast! Support local!

I've been here a few times before when in town, and I really liked the coffee and they serve a pretty darn good "works" bagel. I don't know what happened in just a few weeks, but the coffee was horrible! I decided to splurge and order a mocha and a bagel. The coffee was watery and the chocolate tasted very, very strange. It was also not very warm! It was as if they put some cold chocolate syrup into old coffee It wasn't anything close to any mocha I've ever had. Rarely do I ever splurge on a bagel, but it had been that kind of day. I don't live in Grand Rapids, so finding a great bagel is exciting. In the past the bagels have been great, but that day it was burned! Unfortunately, before I realized it, I was on the highway and I wasn't about to turn back around. It was really disappointing. The guy making the bagel could clearly see that it had been burned and yet he still served it to me. It'll make me think twice before I come back again. I really don't like posting a poor review - everybody has an off day from time to time. But it just bugs me that he knew the bagel was burned. That isn't an off day, that's not caring. Says a lot - so I will, too.

Pictures don't do its justice. Solid breakfast restaurant where you can eat inside and also get take out.

    Bagel and latte

This place doesn't look like much, but holy crap!!!! I'm a coffee snob, and their lattes are absolutely amazing; very smooth coffee tasting without being weak like many other places. Also, the FOOD?? Without question, one of the best bagel sandwiches I've had! We got one of the ranchero-based bagels and soooo yummy. Their bagels are fresh and delicious and you can taste the difference. 10/10 recommend!! You don't want to miss out on this place.

Lots of coffee choices! All delicious!

We arrived right at open on Saturday morning as they seem to sell out pretty quickly. I would recommend pre-ordering the week leading up if you can't get there early. We went with the BEC on a cheddar everything, spicy boy on a cheddar jalapeño bagel and a hash brown on the side - YUM. The bacon egg and cheese was our winner, but each item was delicious. The everything cheddar might be my new favorite bagel in Grand Rapids! The spicy boy did pack a punch and did live up to the name, with a lingering heat. Those who love spice would be big fans. Set in such a cute area and the interior is a very cute, inviting space. Service was wonderful and inviting as well. Can't wait to be back to try more bagels!

They are only open on Saturdays 8-1pm, and I used to live farther away and it would've been difficult to make the trip to Eastown, but currently I'm walking distance to Lake Dr. It's a small store with about 3 tables inside, so mostly for takeout. I was expecting a line at 9am, but there were only a few people ahead of me! They do open advanced online ordering, which may help with the foot traffic. I ordered 3 bagels - everything, asiago, and za'tar ($8 for 3). They were out of sesame, and I got the last za'tar bagel. I wanted to make my own breakfast sandwich at home, so I didn't try their sandwiches or cream cheese this time. I also ordered a vanilla oatmilk latte from Toro Coffee (~$6), which had a pop-up stand inside as well. The bagels almost look "overbaked/overcooked," but they really just have that nice crispy exterior and fluffy inside that bagels are supposed to have! Being from the East Coast, I've complained a lot about there not being good bagels in Grand Rapids - but this is easily the best spot I've tried! I will come here again to pick up bagels for a special occasion!

I almost had a panic attack in my midsize SUV (but she's thick so...). It started off fine like "oh dang this is narrow but its a tiny corner lot so I get it." Then it quickly turned into my car sensors blowing up while I'm working out a 20-point turn to get around the corner without hitting the wall in front of me, the curb below me or the steel poles EVERYWHERE. But we made it. Rest assured. Next time, I'll just walk inside. :-)

Parking is nonexistent, so we decided to hit the drive through and eat at a local park. If you have a large vehicle (truck, full-size SUV, etc...) be very careful in the drive through. It is quite tight. Luckily we had my wife's Blazer, which was no issue. Service was pleasant, polite and fast. As for the food, it wasn't great. I ordered the Denver Bagel Omelette Sandwich. It had a cold Asiago bagel with a piece of ham, scrambled egg, green pepper slices and melted cheese. I think the cold bagel with the warm egg and melted cheese threw it off. It was just a weird warm/cold combo and I was expecting a bit of crunch from the bagel, but was left with a soft, blah texture. My wife ordered the Smoked Salmon Classic Bagel Sandwich. She had the same experience. While she expected a cold bagel with hers, she told me her salmon had zero flavor. She was expecting, salt, lemon, something. She ended up eating the bagel and cream cheese without the salmon. The coffee was okay and look, we are not spoiled high class restaurant critics. We just expect that food will have flavor and some thought put into what is being served. We paid $35 for two bagel sandwiches and two medium coffees. The food just wasn't worth a premium like that. Too many other places to try to come back.
