This location of Bagel Kitchen is open and airy with seating space for dining in. Currently they close at 1 pm most days, but Nate and I were able to sneak in for lunch recently. I got the Manhattan sandwich and Nate got the special grilled cheese + tomato soup. The person taking our order was patient and really kind, even though they were closing soon. I'm not a bagel expert, but these are tasty. I really liked the Manhattan: Ham with melted cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and a lite spread of chive cream cheese. Served on an Onion bagel or bagel of your choice. I got it on a sesame bagel and added some hot sauce at home. The veggies were fresh and I loved the melty cheese. The soup was piping hot and really delicious. They also serve sweet bagel options, bagels by the dozen with spreads, coffee drinks and other beverages. The mural is cool and the seating is comfortable. Street parking only but we've never had an issue finding parking.

So glad to have a bagel shop on the west side! Love the vibes and decor of this place. Their pricing seems really fair for a bagel sandwich (ranging from $6.50-$10) and their individual bagels are $2.20. For something fresh and local, this is a great deal! They also offer coffee drinks and some other juices and sodas. There is seating inside and there are several street parking spots directly in front of the building or you could park on the residential street behind.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile! The interior is simple and clean, and there's table to dine in, but I ordered to-go. The person taking my order seemed like the owner, and he was really friendly. The Bellclaire is the most popular item, essentially an egg and cheese sandwich but with chive cream cheese too. I got it with bacon as well on an everything bagel. Being from the East Coast/NY area, I'm pretty picky about my bagels. This place is definitely better than Bagel Beanery, about be same or slightly better than Big Apple Bagels, but not as good as the pop-up place Blacklist Bagels. The bagels are a little bit small and could be a little "crunchier/crispier" on the outside for my liking, but the inside has a nice, soft texture. I liked the good-sized portion of egg patty, and I asked for light cream cheese and it was the perfect amount. I also got a vanilla oat milk latte; all of their syrups are made in-house! I would try this again when I am in the area.

As of February 2025 this is my new favorite bagel spot in Grand Rapids. All fresh and perfectly chewy! The space is clean and staff are all friendly. This spot also partnered with a local run club which always signals good community engagement to me! That's something I always like to see from local coffee shops and bakeries and bagel spots alike. Parking isn't the best and it isn't the worst... just street side on Leonard. In the mornings they run an early bird special of a bagel plus a coffee for about 5 bucks! I got a Rosemary salt bagel with vegetable herb crème cheese, as that was recommended. I was not disappointed. Overall a happy 5/5 stars.

We arrived right at open on Saturday morning as they seem to sell out pretty quickly. I would recommend pre-ordering the week leading up if you can't get there early. We went with the BEC on a cheddar everything, spicy boy on a cheddar jalapeño bagel and a hash brown on the side - YUM. The bacon egg and cheese was our winner, but each item was delicious. The everything cheddar might be my new favorite bagel in Grand Rapids! The spicy boy did pack a punch and did live up to the name, with a lingering heat. Those who love spice would be big fans. Set in such a cute area and the interior is a very cute, inviting space. Service was wonderful and inviting as well. Can't wait to be back to try more bagels!

They are only open on Saturdays 8-1pm, and I used to live farther away and it would've been difficult to make the trip to Eastown, but currently I'm walking distance to Lake Dr. It's a small store with about 3 tables inside, so mostly for takeout. I was expecting a line at 9am, but there were only a few people ahead of me! They do open advanced online ordering, which may help with the foot traffic. I ordered 3 bagels - everything, asiago, and za'tar ($8 for 3). They were out of sesame, and I got the last za'tar bagel. I wanted to make my own breakfast sandwich at home, so I didn't try their sandwiches or cream cheese this time. I also ordered a vanilla oatmilk latte from Toro Coffee (~$6), which had a pop-up stand inside as well. The bagels almost look "overbaked/overcooked," but they really just have that nice crispy exterior and fluffy inside that bagels are supposed to have! Being from the East Coast, I've complained a lot about there not being good bagels in Grand Rapids - but this is easily the best spot I've tried! I will come here again to pick up bagels for a special occasion!

I almost had a panic attack in my midsize SUV (but she's thick so...). It started off fine like "oh dang this is narrow but its a tiny corner lot so I get it." Then it quickly turned into my car sensors blowing up while I'm working out a 20-point turn to get around the corner without hitting the wall in front of me, the curb below me or the steel poles EVERYWHERE. But we made it. Rest assured. Next time, I'll just walk inside. :-)

Parking is nonexistent, so we decided to hit the drive through and eat at a local park. If you have a large vehicle (truck, full-size SUV, etc...) be very careful in the drive through. It is quite tight. Luckily we had my wife's Blazer, which was no issue. Service was pleasant, polite and fast. As for the food, it wasn't great. I ordered the Denver Bagel Omelette Sandwich. It had a cold Asiago bagel with a piece of ham, scrambled egg, green pepper slices and melted cheese. I think the cold bagel with the warm egg and melted cheese threw it off. It was just a weird warm/cold combo and I was expecting a bit of crunch from the bagel, but was left with a soft, blah texture. My wife ordered the Smoked Salmon Classic Bagel Sandwich. She had the same experience. While she expected a cold bagel with hers, she told me her salmon had zero flavor. She was expecting, salt, lemon, something. She ended up eating the bagel and cream cheese without the salmon. The coffee was okay and look, we are not spoiled high class restaurant critics. We just expect that food will have flavor and some thought put into what is being served. We paid $35 for two bagel sandwiches and two medium coffees. The food just wasn't worth a premium like that. Too many other places to try to come back.

A lovely agent moved us to an earlier flight that promptly canceled... then back to our original flight, which was still delayed, but they had a new plane inbound to get everyone out that day. They ordered pizzas to feed the masses & got us home. I can only assume that all the bad things happening that resulted in a good ending was thanks to these small fish shaped treasures blessing us with luck. I'm not even a huge fan of everything bagel flavor but I turned feral after having a bite. I hadn't tried the Nutella flavor during my last visit and it's exactly what I expected. It's Nutella. In a taiyaki. Solid. The strawberry matcha flavor was a new batter that they were trying out and honestly I think they still have a little fine tuning to do with it but I enjoyed the flavor. It wasn't overpowering or overly grassy like lots of matcha flavored items. If you haven't tried this Japanese street food, I highly recommend you stop by on their next pop up! The owners are incredibly kind people that clearly have passion and take great pride in what they do.
