I got a bagel and they asked if I wanted it toasted - I said yes, so they did. The blueberry lime refresher is perfect level of tart and sweet. The only issue is the drive through. I almost had a panic attack in my midsize SUV (but she's thick so...). It started off fine like "oh dang this is narrow but its a tiny corner lot so I get it." Then it quickly turned into my car sensors blowing up while I'm working out a 20-point turn to get around the corner without hitting the wall in front of me, the curb below me or the steel poles EVERYWHERE. Not great... We stopped by Bagel Beanery on Michigan St in G.R. on our way out of town. It was around 10:30 am. Parking is nonexistent, so we decided to hit the drive through and eat at a local park. If you have a large vehicle (truck, full-size SUV, etc...) be very careful in the drive through. It is quite tight. Luckily we had my wife's Blazer, which was no issue. Service was pleasant, polite and fast. As for the food, it wasn't great. I ordered the Denver Bagel Omelette Sandwich. It had a cold Asiago bagel with a piece of ham, scrambled egg, green pepper slices and melted cheese. I think the cold bagel with the warm egg and melted cheese threw it off. It was just a weird warm/cold combo and I was expecting a bit of crunch from the bagel, but was left with a soft, blah texture. My wife ordered the Smoked Salmon Classic Bagel Sandwich. She had the same experience. While she expected a cold bagel with hers, she told me her salmon had zero flavor. She was expecting, salt, lemon, something. She ended up eating the bagel and cream cheese without the salmon. The coffee was okay and look, we are not spoiled high class restaurant critics. We just expect that food will have flavor and some thought put into what is being served. We paid $35 for two bagel sandwiches and two medium coffees. The food just wasn't worth a premium like that. Beware the drive-thru! There weren't any pricing options on the menu and there is no way to get out once you've gotten into the line. The sandwich was ok but they don't toast bagels unless requested which was strange to me. I requested my bagel be made without meat but was served one with meat on it. I usually love Bagel Beanary but I was very disappointed in their service this day. Not only did we wait over 35 minutes for a single order, two sandwiches and a drink, but our order sat on the counter for an extra 15 minutes before anyone bothered to hand it to us. Keep in mind there were only 3 orders on the screen, no on in drive thru. We even ordered ahead on doordash to make sure that we didn't have to wait as long. While we were waiting in line I watched the manager and another employee sit on their phones, and the cashier stepped off the register for more than 10 minutes before taking anyone's orders. Not to mention this location always has flies buzzing in the lobby and almost every employee has headphones in, completely oblivious. I'd recommend you go to the other location because this one seems to be suffering. I've worked in food service for many years and If I ever gave this kind of service I'd be fired. Now for the food. What the hell. All of it was cold and soggy by the time it got to us, understandably. The drink itself sat on the counter since we arrived (again, 35 minutes.) Popped in around 12:30pm on a Wednesday and was able to order very quickly. I didn't realize there was a drive through but the menu was very easy to read and the bagel selection was amazing. I honestly had a hard time choosing between so many good options but I made a great decision going with the cheddar herb for a breakfast classic. I got scrambled egg with sausage and provolone and that hit the spot!! The Mac and cheese side was also super creamy and tasty, highly recommend. Finally decided to give this place a try after seeing the $2 iced lattes for summer. So glad I did! I ordered the Breakfast Duo and an iced latte; my total came out to $9. The sandwich had the right amount of meat, cheese, egg, and grease. Bacon was very chewy and the bagel itself didn't taste like anything but it tasted clean and I liked the density of it. Iced latte was ok...a bit too dark/burnt for me but for $2, I would buy again. The service was quick and the girl at the drive-thru was really nice. People weren't kidding about the tight drive-thru. I drive a midsize sedan and made it without any problems. The everything bagel and egg was pretty good, but was disappointed in the thin, small piece of bacon. They were incredibly busy (Sunday morning), so it took forever. Stopped in this morning to get bagels for the team and was greeted with unprofessional and rude customer service. I ordered the bagel bundle but asked that the order be split into two bags because my staff work in two separate locations. I have done this multiple times at this location with no issue. She did as requested and then charged me for two half orders instead of the bundle. She said that the $6 up charge was to pay for the separate bag! ( basic white bag- nothing special). If you want to find a delicious bagel look no further, the bagel Beanery has many different options for bagels and they are ginormous! I ordered the Asiago cheese bagel and it was toasted with cream cheese, and not just a little cream cheese but they put a ton on it. In fact, I often scrap off a bunch...but... I'd rather be given too much than too little. The breakfast stack sandwich is a different story! It is stacked FULL of meat!! DELICIOUS! I mean look at how high that bagel is compared to just a bagel with spread only. It comes with bacon, sausage, egg, ham and cheese. I live so close to this establishment AND I drive past it many times each day. I finally stopped this week for the bagel bundle to take to work for morning holiday cheer. Everyone loved them! It's Christmas Eve and my family is in town and I wanted to get them breakfast. I called and ordered 5 different signature breakfast sandwiches. Before I review the food, I have to make a bigger deal about their customer service. It's OUTSTANDING! My (first visit) drive through experience was quick, nice and funny. Bagel Beanery has been a great stop for us every morning on our way to Spectrum Health. This review is for the lattes and bagels, we haven't tried the other items but they look very appetizing. The lattes are great and having oat milk as an option gets anyone 5 stars if they are pleasant. The team members are always very kind and appreciative of our business. They go above and beyond to make you feel as they value your business. Today our pup was in the car with us, and the drive thru barista asked if she could give our pup a puppucino. Of course our pup was in love! The drive thru is tight, but I've seen work vans sail through without a problem. Just be careful while in the chute, there are many places you can scrape. Solid coffee and bagel place. They are no fuss and provide you with what you need as advertised. I find it to be a perfect location right off the highway of 196 and Michigan and kitty corner to a gas station. Service is quick and friendly! Whoever their manager is they do an amazing job in hiring and training their staff as they definitely do service with a smile and go out of their way to help you out. I ordered a bagel assorted platter and 2 coffee carafes for a morning meeting at work and the cashier kindly helped carry the stuff to the car with me. Their bagel and cream cheese combinations are indeed "yums!" I really enjoy their bagel breakfast sandwiches and of course their decaf cappuccinos are quite decent. The perfect hangover cure doesn't exi.... Bagel Beanery is a high quality spot for the best bagels and coffee in GR. The vibe is relaxed, it smells amazing in there and the shop is always clean. I love the cheddar herb bagel with plain or veggie cream cheese for something savory. The corn meal on the bottom of the bagels gives them the perfect texture and the explosion of flavor on the top of the crust is to die for. When I want something sweet, I get the honey wheat with honey brown sugar cream cheese. The cream cheese is like a tart frosting- so sweet and tangy. Love this combo. After not going here for a while, we returned and were pleased. There have been some changed since we had been here last and they are great. The food was awesome and the coffee selection was very good. The biggest concern is the location. There is a small parking lot and I cannot get my Equinox through the drive in. i always come here i am so loyal to this place but i'm getting annoyed with the inconsistency. i get the same thing every time and it's either one price or another (depending on if they charge me for an extra shot). i always ask for "toasted" and lately i've been asking "extra toasted" because they just won't toast it. the service is alright, lot of young staff so you'd think they're be quick but the second there's another person or two in the drive thru, immediate 20-30 min wait. then i always get an iced coffee and sometimes it's in a 20 oz cup and sometimes it's a bigger cup. so i ask for the bigger size. they say they only have one size so how was my coffee bigger yesterday. today my bacon is disgusting (it's often under done and pink and squishy). like seriously might throw it away because it's a taste so unfamiliar to what i normally get. do better. read more

I love this little spot! The bagels are always toasted perfectly and the breakfast sandwiches never miss. My only complaints are they ran out of napkins once which was strange when serving me an overflowing smoothie and the wax paper sometimes gets stuck to the bagels where it becomes difficult to scrap off. Pros: Reasonably priced bagels and sandwiches. Everything I've had here is good but not necessarily memorable. Last trip through I got the Arizona Ouellette. Since I'm a vegetarian, I asked for no sausage, extra egg and they made it without an upcharge. Cons: Pick your poison trying to get into this place. It has nightmare drive-thru. I have a Honda CRV and I'm always scared I'm going to scrape the paint of trying to round the corner. But the parking lot is tiny and cramped and never has spaces.
