I have heard many good things about this pizzeria, so my expectations were a bit high making my way into this location. Would they live up to the hype? Just like any other restaurant they have their advantages and disadvantages. It is nice that they are so close to the south side where I live. This one is small, but has a decent seating area. The lady at the counter had a gutter punk style with pink hair in pig tails, nose ring, t-shirt and camouflage pants. I liked her style, but she wasn't very friendly. There was no unsweetened tea so I asked for a cup of water, a request which she ignored. You will get your pizza, just don't expect any water. I guess you just have to die of thirst. I ordered a slice of white pizza with spinach/onions and a magherita slice. The crust is light, airy, crispy and nicely cooked. The only thing was I had to hold it up, or else the toppings would have flopped right off. The flavor is pretty good for both slices. I kind of wish they had more ricotta on the white pizza. I think there was less cheese on the slices, but as a result there was a lot less oil coming from the slices. Even when I looked at my plate I could see no oil stain remnants that you typically always get from most pizza. There was a definite char on one of the slices. I don't exactly love it to be charred really, but it didn't make the pizza taste horrible. Badamos is a good and unique restaurant. It is worth going at least once, or twice. I went here for the first time the other day as part of the Pittsburgh pizza passport program and the wonderful thing is that now I love this place that I wouldn't have otherwise visited. Great location next to a lot of other small shops and convenient street parking. The pizza was fresh out of the oven and I also bought some day-old bread for home. The Coca-Cola comes in glass bottles here made with real sugar. The walls are decorated with old family photos from Italy. And the service behind the counter was really nice. Next time I'm in the area, I would certainly go again. read more

Maybe my favorite pizza I've had in a long time! We got the Sicilian style with pepperoni. And it was to die for! Excellent cupped pepperoni, and they did not skimp. Their house made ranch was SOOO good. We ordered pickup and it was ready right when they said it would be. No frills, friendly service. Very limited seating and it was as hot as the pizza oven inside, so I wouldn't recommend dining in unless it's winter! I'm so glad we tried it and we will be back! read more

I have been to Badamos Pizza many times I am surprised I did not write a review. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store itself is very small no tables just a place to stand up and eat. Badamos is almost strictly takeout. Generally I like the Sicilian pepperoni which for me is the best. The last visit I got a half pepperoni half regular and 6 garlic knots. Our friends rave about this his pizza. It was easy to order online. They don't have specialty pizzas, but you can customize a classic or Sicilian style. As someone who doesn't eat red meat, I was hoping for a chicken topping option, but they didn't have one. The order was done quickly for pick up. The pizza itself definitely hit the spot. Why this place does not have more reviews is mind boggling!!! We have been wanting to come here for such a long time, and we finally were close enough during lunch time to grab a slice. We were greeted immediately and we ordered each a square slice and then one other slice to share along with a water and Turners Tea...a must! I got the Sicilian white with pepperoni and it blew my mind! Perfect crust, perfect pepperoni, perfect flavors. The ranch was so good too! Friends recommended this place to us and they were not wrong. This pizza was delicious. We tried the pepperoni Sicilian and their white pizza. The crust had a nice crunch and wasn't overly chewy. The toppings had great flavor and were a good quality per slice. Now the restaurant itself is small and not a traditional sit down be served place but thats perfectly OK. You order at the counter (where you can see some of the pizzas they have available) grab a drink from the cooler and you can either grab and go or sit at one of the 5 smaller tables off to the side. We sat in the restaurant to eat and It was nice they called us when our slices were ready, once the crowd died down they checked on us, and everyone was very polite. This used to be a great pizza shop when it was located in Lebo. First time ordering from the Dormont location and it was the worst pizza I've had in Pittsburgh in at least a year and that includes chains. Ordered a red and a white. Both had barely any cheese on them. the crust was OK, but frankly, it was overcooked. Day old Mineo's is superior. The garden salad was the high point and was great and is the only reason I'm not giving one star. And these are $25+ pizzas. The value is simply not there at all. read more

I've ordered takeout from Badamos many times. The first time was from the north side location (also excellent) but the Dormont location is close to home and where I have continued to order because of proximity. While I usually order a whole pie, this last visit was for some quick slices, which is an amazing option to have when you're needing some food before/during errands (never go shopping hungry!). I don't normally choose Sicilian pizza, but this slice of pepperoni was perfection. Crispy but not overly oily. The pepperoni was perfect. I made an audible mmmmm when I took my first bite. WOW. I don't really love white pizza but the spinach and feta looked great, so I wanted to give it a try. While the flavor was ok and crust was good, it just wasn't for me because I simply prefer a red sauce pie. This is my first choice for local pizza pickup (they do offer delivery unless through a third-party delivery service). So, so good. read more

I have been wanting to go in for a visit due to all the reviews on Facebook. Still has the same setup as the old Campeti's pizza that previously occupied the space. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. There is a cooler with a selection of pop & of course you can get Turners Iced Tea. We opted for silicon slices with pepperoni & a slice of white with ricotta and spinach. Pizza came up quickly. I will say the crust was so light & amazing. Sauce was very good but a little too much for me. My husband and I really appreciated the amount of pepperoni on the pizza also. The white pizza was a regular slice & it had great flavor also. My son loves Badamo's, his girlfriend lives nearby and he walks down anytime he's at her house and he grabs a slice or two. I've been to the Northside location a few years ago, but never stopped at Dormont. I was nearby recently and my son was in Dormont so I texted him to meet me for a slice. We walked in and he got his favorite slices and I had one of the special slices that day, I honestly can't remember what it was, I know it has ricotta on it and I'm a sucker for pizza like that. We ordered and waited a couple minutes before our slices were ready. We sat down and enjoyed them. The pizza was light but crunchy and thin. The restaurant has indoor seating, although most folks seemed to carry out. Service was fast and friendly and the place was clean. Yep, this is the same Badamo's that used to live on Washington Rd in Mt. Lebanon. This pizza is fantastic, and the star of the show is the crust. If you are a bread baker, please try this pizza; you'll appreciate the balance here. This dough is not only actually flavorful, but it's also light and airy, with just the right bit of chew and a satisfyingly crispy exterior. That dough is worth your notice for sure. (It seems better than I remember. I feel like it used to be doughier at the old location.) Pepperoni slice was loaded with little spicy pepperoni cups and the white pizza with spinach and ricotta packed a garlicky punch. The guy working the place on Saturday night was super friendly and helpful. Drinks in the case ranged from Sicilian sodas to Turner's to sparkling or still water. I was there at almost 9pm and there were several pies from which to select a slice--both traditional and Sicilian. read more

Ordered two 16" pies. One with just pepperoni, the other with mushroom and peppers, $54. They only had a couple of tables but they were occupied by Uber Door drivers. Took it home and found a hot mess. The pepperoni pie was so burnt we only salvaged 3 pieces. Made very thin in the middle to the degree of being transparent. Virtually no sauce or cheese. Very bland and cracker thin. No where near NY style. I've read people raving about their Sicilian. They should stick with that then. Best part; the mushroom and pepper pie was doughy. How does that happen? Cheap with the toppings too. We've been branching out; trying new pizza places. Six different places in the past 2 months and this was by far the worst. Bottom line; Expensive and overrated . I understand they got new (electric) ovens at this new location but they should have it together by now. Wish I could say something positive. read more
