Went back to re-try the pizza. Ordered a pepperoni, blazin' bacon, and banana pepper pizza. It was moist, hearty, and had a good balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. The pizza was perfectly cooked. This was reminiscent of what we had grown accustomed to and what drew us to Backdraft in the first place. Came here for a FOF meet up. The owners have done a fantastic job of creating a nice space to chill and enjoy a beverage (great wine list) and a tasty food item - burgers are delicious - wings were bbq dripping finger licking goooood. The burgers are so delicious, their 3 stack (I forget what it's called) or blend patty is so so juicy! And the side of fries, omg some of the best potato's I've had in a long time. They're like potato curls? Crispy and light on the outside and mashed potatoy on the inside. The sandwich was the surprise star though, for a full size you get practically two sandwiches! And however they prep the sandwich bun is soo yummy. Crispy and flaky on both the top and bottom. Our waitress, Mackenzie was wonderful too. Great local spot, lots of options food and from the looks of it beer too. Will have to stop in for a drink next time with my meal :) Thank you Backdraft! First time and I'll for sure be back. I really enjoyed the 5150 hot wings and a really good iced tea...this time. Recovering from the weekend. A nice comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and I even met the owners who were personable folks. Retired firefighter, so I'm digging the vibe here. Tried this new place the other night with my family and the food was fantastic. My 2 kids ordered the pizza from the kids menu. The cool thing is they bring the dough and toppings they want and the kids got to make their own pizza. They then take it back to be cooked. Comes out piping hot so be careful they don't burn their mouths. I ordered the large Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious! Would definitely order it again the next time I go. Since Backdraft Bar & Grill opened several months ago, my husband and I, our friends and neighbors all meet there for great food and drinks. The hospitality at Backdraft is exemplary. From the friendly wait staff, the personable owners, the bartenders.... It is a comfortable, casual restaurant that serves GREAT food. My kudos to the food prep people also. Spent the day visiting family in Fallbrook (I live in Orange County) celebrating my belated March birthday. My sister suggested we go to Backdraft Bar & Grill in Bonsall. It's located in the corner of a small strip mall close to a post office. The minute we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners Chris, and I asked him what the story was for his restaurant and he told us about his firefighter brother and how he always had a dream of them opening a restaurant together. Three years ago, he retired and fate stepped in two weeks later when he suddenly passed away. Of course this was a huge loss and a shock to all. When this venue opened up in Bonsall, he and his wife decided to go for it and open a restaurant and they named it, Backdraft bar and Grill in honor of his brother Stormy McInerny. We were seated outside on the huge patio. It was a beautiful day. The menu had tons of delicious options from pizza to sandwiches and salads with catchy names like "Hazmat Wings", and "Code Blue" pizza. The wine list was extensive, as well as several beers and non-alcoholic beers. We decided on the "Mayday Fries" (twisted fries with cheddar cheese, blazin bacon (omg) chicken, scallions, and the best 5150 sauce....yes, it has a kick to it) and the grilled Brussel Sprouts, amazing! Chris said they were his wife's recipe's. (She's a keeper!) We almost ordered a pizza too but happy we didn't this time around. (eyes bigger than our stomach's) We shared and it was more than enough. We took the rest home for my brother in law. Chris said firefighters get 10% off. Worth the drive and a great location for any event you may want to plan. We will definitely be back! read more

service was special. the bar was dark and noisy which many people enjoyed. I went out to the patio which was really clean, shady and pleasant. I had the Mac daddy burger. Mac and cheese so good that I could have a whole bowl. Not on the menu but they give you wonderful thick cut frys with your burger. I am going again! read more

I was recommended this new place by a friend of mine. I find the location very convenient and the staff is very friendly. I ordered a up in smoke burger with no lettuce or tomatoes. It gets a 10/10 on my scale. This is the second 10/10 score I've ever given. The pizza is well done with the right amount of cheese. They offer a variety of toppings. I decided to try something new and added shrimp to my pizza. I definitely will be coming back to try the sandwiches. read more

Love the quality of food at this restaurant. The candy bacon is amazing. They have gluten free options as well. I love the pizzas, the ribeye and filet. The deviled eggs are scrumptious. The seats are so comfortable you just want to stay all day. They have a wonderful drink menu with lots of beer options. I love this place! Such a great addition to the Bonsall-Fallbrook community. Great atmosphere with very friendly staff! Olivia is hands down my favorite server there...knows the menu and always friendly. Great rotating selection of beers on tap! And the food is very good. Wings with 5150 sauce are cray! Burgers are juicy and well cooked. The fries are insane. Seriously legit. TVs on the right spots for games and they keep the volume loud enough to hear but quiet enough to actually talk to your party without yelling. 100% recommend and will be back a lot. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time this week. The hostess, waitresses, and bar staff were just great. We both had one of the burgers. The meat was almost tasteless and somewhat chewy. We asked for medium but we're served well done. But the sauces they served with them were very tasty. We loved the curly fries. They need to add more vegetables with their dishes. The people next to our table loved the pizza. When we came in, a woman told is she really liked the meatballs. I don't know if I'd come back. But if you are hungry for burgers and fries, I'm sure you would like this place. read more

Food and service were excellent. I would rethink pricing on the Mac though. This was the full meal not the child's size. Also ordered the wings which came in an order of 7? Just an odd number. Beer selection was pretty good although I would appreciate a lower ABV stout as the one they have was $20 for 10 oz 14 abv. Like...I have to function after this and don't have time to have a lounging drinking afternoon. Overall good quality food, prime location, will be back, hopefully by then the patio will be open so we can bring pups. read more

The Good: Food was great! Kudos to the cooks! Waitress was friendly, and a nice young man set up outdoor heaters. The Bad: We waited about an hour and a half for our food! Once it was delivered the waitress disappeared. Drink glasses were empty for our entire meal. She came by when we're were finished and apologized. Sadly, the owner was too busy chatting about wine, wine delivery company, and his preference of whiskey. At this point we weren't the only frustrated table, there were four other tables waiting and getting pretty restless. Maybe in the future we can give Backdraft another try and hopefully give them more stars. But for now 3 is pretty generous for having to wait that long for a burger. read more

We just tried this place for first time today. The pizza was hand tossed sourdough and oven baked deliciousness. The hamburgers melt in your mouth with a custom meat blend.
