This place is a hidden gem. Nestled in a corner but what a find. Lunch was amazing. I'm on a "special" diet and they were amazing accommodating my requests. My friend had a salad that was out of this world. The server was very attentive without going overboard. The ambiance is perfect. Simple and very inviting. A place to go to for a cold brew and burger or pizza. Will definitely be back. read more

This place is still having their soft opening. Everything is looking good. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and some wine. The wine list far surpasses any list in Fallbrook/bonsall with more than 22 reds and 11 whites not including the champagne. This place is off to a great start. Looking forward to a full liquor license. Do I sound like an alcoholic? read more

Been there now 3 times and I have loved it every time. Food is so good and service is great. We had Sarah this most recent time and she took great care of us! Definitely recommend. Typical whole in the wall vibes, I don't think I would've known about it without being a new local of the area. read more

We are regulars at BBG and usually get great service! Tonight was a different story! Not happy.....I ended up not eating as they tried to fix my order but after 15 min (and my husband was done his meal) I told them to forget it! They didn't seem to be too concerned and didn't offer anything else! read more

The food is great, the menu should be expanded, the service is attentive. The indoor and outdoor is nice but, the amount of flies and cottonwood flowers flying around is a problem, sorry. read more

Super nice staff and the pizza + salad was really good! Plenty of beer. Can't wait to see what else comes to the menu. Glad to have this locally owned place in town!! read more

LOVE this place. The food here is consistently amazing! Great gluten free selection as well. The brussel sprouts & watermelon spicy margs are to die for, highly recommend. The staff are super friendly & welcoming, and they also have outdoor seating. This place has become one of my favorites! read more

Small little hole in the wall. The interior is filled with TV's and they were playing all sorts of sports. The bar is full and to my surprise they had Moose Drool beer from Montana. The Brussels sprouts were great. The Mac Daddy burger was ok, but the Mac tasted a bit old. The restroom was clean, but the toilet didn't flush so the smell wasn't amazing. All in all I would stop here again! read more

Came here for a FOF meet up. The owners have done a fantastic job of creating a nice space to chill and enjoy a beverage (great wine list) and a tasty food item - burgers are delicious - wings were bbq dripping finger licking goooood. Great vibe, tasty food, good service. Will definitely be back. read more

dropped in twice.... same result... my perspective is one of a patron that prefers a bar seat... on both visits, the limited bar seating was occupied (not completely) by obvious employees which both limited seating options, and more importantly contributed to the "high school" ambiance..... both greeting/acknowledgement and ordering times were were absolutely compromised by this dynamic,,,, As a person with time served in the industry, (unfortunately i am acutely aware of tempo and attentiveness}, that being said the gal seated next to me was subject to the same showboating and house gossip that i was as well as having to address her tardy entree no less than three times. After my food was dropped, it was easily 3 min before the bartender that was less than four feet from me had to finally be interrupted during the "great cocktail shaking event" to let him know i was without necessities for my meal. ....Great potential. but seems like the leash is a little too long for the "kids" on their payroll. Food {wings/clam chowder) were mediocre at best. read more

Good food, good service, tasty ambience. I didn't try the pizza, but it looked very tasty.

Great food and service! Love that they take reservations. We've tried almost everything on the menu at this point! We love it at Backdraft!

Best hamburgers in North County, family friendly, kids can make their own pizzas which makes it so fun for them.

Great food and service. Italian sandwich is the Bomb. I also love the pizza and great beer selection. I'll be back again soon.

Amazing food! Wonderful service! Awesome location, outdoor seating to come soon. What a great addition to Bonsall. Should've taken photos of the food but will definitely make sure to next time! The burgers are so delicious, their 3 stack (I forget what it's called) or blend patty is so so juicy! And the side of fries, omg some of the best potato's I've had in a long time. They're like potato curls? Crispy and light on the outside and mashed potatoy on the inside. The sandwich was the surprise star though, for a full size you get practically two sandwiches! And however they prep the sandwich bun is soo yummy. Crispy and flaky on both the top and bottom. Our waitress, Mackenzie was wonderful too. Great local spot, lots of options food and from the looks of it beer too. Will have to stop in for a drink next time with my meal :) Thank you Backdraft! If you're just passing though the 76 or looking for some good food, check it out--you won't be disappointed read more

So, I have had the opportunity to eat and drink at this clean, well run establishment a few times now and the experience has been great. Tonight, my wife and I had the pleasure to meet Josh, our server. Josh was courteous, helpful and pleasant too talk to, nice to see young folks understand customer service and a sense of community! Give this place a shot, it has been a great experience every time. John T. read more

What a great find! The amazing food, drinks (full bar), and fun sports bar atmosphere are awesome! The food is definitely waaaaaay better than your usual sports bar. Our party had the herb crusted halibut with cilantro lime rice and glazed carrots (yum!), HUGE meatball sub, gluten- free pizza, fried chicken sandwich, and juicy burger. We all loved our meals and commented on it again the next day. If you enjoy a smoky old fashioned you will be very pleased by the wide selection of bourbon and whiskey. Great selection of beer and wine too along with all other spirits. Last but definitely not least, the service was fantastic! read more

Spent the day visiting family in Fallbrook (I live in Orange County) celebrating my belated March birthday. My sister suggested we go to Backdraft Bar & Grill in Bonsall. It's located in the corner of a small strip mall close to a post office. The minute we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners Chris, and I asked him what the story was for his restaurant and he told us about his firefighter brother and how he always had a dream of them opening a restaurant together. Three years ago, he retired and fate stepped in two weeks later when he suddenly passed away. Of course this was a huge loss and a shock to all. When this venue opened up in Bonsall, he and his wife decided to go for it and open a restaurant and they named it, Backdraft bar and Grill in honor of his brother Stormy McInerny. We were seated outside on the huge patio. It was a beautiful day. The menu had tons of delicious options from pizza to sandwiches and salads with catchy names like "Hazmat Wings", and "Code Blue" pizza. The wine list was extensive, as well as several beers and non-alcoholic beers. We decided on the "Mayday Fries" (twisted fries with cheddar cheese, blazin bacon (omg) chicken, scallions, and the best 5150 sauce....yes, it has a kick to it) and the grilled Brussel Sprouts, amazing! Chris said they were his wife's recipe's. (She's a keeper!) We almost ordered a pizza too but happy we didn't this time around. (eyes bigger than our stomach's) We shared and it was more than enough. We took the rest home for my brother in law. Chris said firefighters get 10% off. Worth the drive and a great location for any event you may want to plan. We will definitely be back! read more

Tried this new place the other night with my family and the food was fantastic. My 2 kids ordered the pizza from the kids menu. The cool thing is they bring the dough and toppings they want and the kids got to make their own pizza. They then take it back to be cooked. Comes out piping hot so be careful they don't burn their mouths. I ordered the large Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious! Would definitely order it again the next time I go. Highly recommend this place. read more

The goal is to try everything on the menu. Super fun task! I have not had a bad dish yet. The owners are hands on, making the enviroment personable and inviting. Great dedication on the walls to Fire Fighter Stormy. read more

My retired police department shoulder patch was added to the wall today. The food is fantastic. You need to roll code here.

I was recommended this new place by a friend of mine. I find the location very convenient and the staff is very friendly. I ordered a up in smoke burger with no lettuce or tomatoes. It gets a 10/10 on my scale. This is the second 10/10 score I've ever given. The pizza is well done with the right amount of cheese. They offer a variety of toppings. I decided to try something new and added shrimp to my pizza. I definitely will be coming back to try the sandwiches. read more

A great addition to the local food scene. The pizzas and service have been excellent every time I have visited.

Went back to re-try the pizza. Ordered a pepperoni, blazin' bacon, and banana pepper pizza. It was moist, hearty, and had a good balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. The pizza was perfectly cooked. This was reminiscent of what we had grown accustomed to and what drew us to Backdraft in the first place. We're hoping the quality holds up and will be returning again. read more

First time and I'll for sure be back. I really enjoyed the 5150 hot wings and a really good iced tea...this time. Recovering from the weekend. A nice comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and I even met the owners who were personable folks. Retired firefighter, so I'm digging the vibe here. Recommend because it's just an all around nice local place to chill out and run into someone you might know...like I did. Sports games on the tv's are perfect for wearing your team jerseys.
