I was in a serious accident Nov-Dec 2023 where my 2020 Audi S6 caught air after being hit on the rear passenger side, the impact point was my rear wheel and rear quarter, I was 1000% sure suspension components were destroyed and the car was in need of control arm and more being it was a rear wheel steering car, Bacchus called me 3 hours later with everything aligned and fixed *the car was not drivable above 20 mph*, I was trying my best not to believe he didn't replace something! My Range Rover Sport, had work done on the engine and transmission. Two years later with low mileage ( 6m) the engine cooling system that they fixed fails again. Their Company warranty turns out to be 1 year? Or 12,000 miles, which ever comes first? In other words 1 year!! If I had of known up front, I would've taken my car elsewhere, my fault. 1 year is too short, especially on a foreign car. The company that's servicing my car now (Auto Stress ) has a two year warranty and 24,000 miles. The employees or friendly and nice. read more

Called in to get a master cylinder replaced on a Triumph TR6 in May 2024. A simple 2-3 hour job for a competent shop to complete. Emma told me they had a long wait list and she would get back to me in late August. Late August arrives and I call back asking about when I could bring car in. Emma tells me that they're still working on other cars and thanked me for my patience. I could expect to hear from her about late September. I finally get tired of this repetitive explanation of why my simple brake problem has to wait this long, so I did some more digging to find another competent British repair shop in the Bay Area. I found British Motor Sports in Cambell (with very positive reviews) , called them.....and went to Cambell to meet Dave (the owner). He had my car in the shop within a week and completed other general Triumph maintenance checks, adjustments and repairs. I'll be picking up the car tomorrow 9/27. I was hoping to support the local Tri Valley businesses but the constant runaround by Bacchus frustrated me greatly. *** one final note. Emma called this morning and told me that they wouldn't be able to repair the master cylinder until mid-November!!!! read more

OK... I can go on about Sheik... suffice it to say that I live in San Francisco and will go out of my way to take it to Dublin. Sheik is such a great mechanic that I now own 5 Jags without the fear that once repaired they will fail again. He gets the job done right the first time, and has gone above and beyond to satisfy the customer. He even provides a loaner car!!! I got to know Sheik because when I first bought my Jag back in 2003 from SF British Motors Sheik did work on my car while under warranty. Thus, Sheik started his career at a distinguished and reputable facility as a licensed master mechanic for Jags and has now EARNED a Diamond Certified status... a very difficult status to achieve. Perhaps that's the reason he can tackle really tough jobs that "experienced mechanics" fail to resolve. On my jags' he's fixed complicated electrical problems, repaired blown head gaskets, timing tensioners, radiator replacements and regular maintenance things... all without a hitch!!! I originally had a service scheduled with Cole European in WC. My car was dead, I called to see if I could have it towed there early and very short and rude the assistant on the phone said "No just show up on your apt date". I then called Sheik over at Bacchus, he said I could bring it in whenever I had time. Cole European never called to check when I was a no show for my apt, I assumed they would have but guess not. Sheik kept me informed of their findings and was able to use my warranty coverage for the repair. His customer service was amazing, which is hard to find these days. My vehicle is fixed, I got a line item receipt clearly showing what was replaced, repaired, and labor costs. My Range came back clean inside and out, how I brought it to him, no greasy mechanic marks and they even reset the date and time when they replaced the battery. Personally I will never go back to Land Rover service center unless my vehicle still has a warranty. He even gave me a free change oil. And today he diagnosed my 2016 Range Rover Sport for check engine light and replaced one of my Oxygen sensor for free. Really can't say enough good things about these guys!! I own a Disco 2 HSE that I either had to commit to or dump. I LOVE Rovers and especially this disco so I had Sheik do the big job as stated in my earlier review. Since then we've done a few tweaks and worked to get her ready for towing a trailer to parts unknown. New battery, brake controller, wiring harness, fluids and checks. I was thoroughly impressed by the communication leading up to the appointment, the very fair pricing and the quality of work. Vince was FANTASTIC, FRIEDNLY, and HELPFUL. AMAZING SERVICE!!! I originally called asking about body work for a popped out side panel on my 2015 Range Rover Sport. After explaining to me that they don't necessarily do body work they said to still bring it in and they would have a look. Vince, a mechanic in the shop, took about 25 minutes to do exactly what the Range Rover dealership couldn't do in a whole day. Vince was able to inspect the manual, figure out a solution, and with a little elbow grease fix my panel. I will definitely be bringing my Range Rover here for all service in the future and recommend that everyone in the area go to Bacchus. Worst experience with a mechanic to date. I made an appointment to have a simple (very simple) repair on my vintage car. Upon having it towed there, I was informed by the owner he would not work on it. His words: "I will not work on your car' 'Any mechanic nearby can fix it, but I won't touch it'. Please note, my car just had the engine replaced and transmission put in and needed a leaking fuel line repaired/replaced. This was less than a 1 hour job on this. Now after $250 tow there and $350 to get it to the next mechanic, it was a frustrating endeavor. He wouldn't even allow me to drop it off for a short window of time as I looked for an alternative (dick move). This snobby and rude owner/mechanic shouldn't be considered if you have any other options locally for your British made cars (which there are many, check in Fremont or Campbell). I mean really, who wants to deal with a jerk? I can only imagine how difficult a person to deal with he is with a large complex repair. Don't waste your time or money with this unreasonable arrogant mechanic. read more

Just this past weekend on Christmas Eve morning, my 2002 Range Rover started to have engine trouble when I was in Pleasanton visiting family. I didn't know what to do -- I really did not expect anyone to be open to help. But then I called Bacchus Jaguar Service and not only were they open, but Mr. Bacchus himself was working and told me to bring my Range Rover right in. Mr. Bacchus immediately diagnosed the problem as a loose ignition wire, which he fixed for only about $100 bucks that very morning. As we all know, most other repair shops would have tried to gouge me for $100's if not thousands of bucks on repairs I did not really need. But not here. Mr. Bacchus walked me through what needed to be done immediately, and then pointed out some other issues that may crop up in the near future. This shop is very ethical, competent, decent, and reasonably priced. I only wish I lived closer to this shop because I would take my Range Rover here every time. I was considering buying a used Jag from the nearby Honda dealer and I wanted a trained and authorized mechanic to look it over. I got the car I was looking at from the dealer and brought it to Victor. Victor gave it a thorough once over and pointed out the minor things that needed attention. He also checked several of the "known issues" with this model of Jag to be sure the needed upgrades had been performed. I had driven from Sacramento to get the car, and if I lived closer to Bacchus I would bring the car to them for service. Good within reason. Can do the work and do it well -- but I didn't dig the attitude as I caught a bunch of crap from one of their mechanics about using a $200 aftermarket part instead of a $1300 OEM one which did the exact same thing. And yes, the part I sourced has been working perfectly fine. I do a lot of work on my own cars. For some things, though, I just don't feel like putting up with the hassle as I don't have a lift, etc. So I know what I'm doing. To have some guy give me a bunch of static over my diagnostics was rather off-putting to say the least. The negativity and sour attitude was completely uncalled for. The bottom line? A very good, professionally run shop. Only drawback is they really want to tear your throat out when it comes to price. You can push back and save a few bucks if you know what you're doing, though. read more

My 2014 Range Rover sport had coolant leaking into the engine and after finding out from the Range Rover dealer that they were gonna charge me $6k just to pull my engine apart to confirm this, and then another $7-12k to fix it, my husband found Sheik at Bacchus British and we took my sport there and he straight up told us after the dealer just fixes it, I would still have the same issue and would have to keep taking it back to get it fixed so he recommended that I just replace with a whole new slightly used engine. So we went ahead with this option and he found a great used engine specifically for my sport and now my Rover is back running much better and so far no issues.
