I had been going to Mick for 10 years and he had been pretty great although you need to remember his crew was mechanics, not customer services specialists. I purchased a 2007 328i from here in the first week of February 2019 that same day I drove the car for about 200 miles before having the service engine light come on. I took it to autozone they told me what it was but the light went away. I went to German Motors to fix a broken serpentine belt in my BMW M5. Mick was very rude, overpriced and tried to convince me that the belt broke because the power steering pump had siezed. I calmly suggested that I didn't think that the pump had siezed because it turned freely by hand and the symptoms of a siezed pump weren't apparent when the belt broke. He became irate and said "Look, I don't have time to discuss possible problems with you. I told you what is wrong. Figure out what you want to do and let me know." I was taken aback by his retort because I had been there before. So, I contacted a few other shops in the area. I found another one within a block that gave me a much better deal. In case I was wrong, I asked what the pump would cost if it needed to be replaced. I was quoted a price for the part that was $250 cheaper than what Mick quoted. So, in giving Mick the benefit of the doubt, I asked him if he could find a cheaper pump. He said "No. Look, you have an expensive car, so it is expensive to repair." After paying Mick $85(!) to put my car on the rack (he had it back together and off the rack in 5 minutes) I took my car to Autowerks European . Going back to German Motors would have cost me well over $1000 and I would have had to pay for a pump I didn't need. Getting a second opinion and taking it somewhere else cost me about 70% less than what Mick would have charged me. My car runs perfectly, now. showing that his diagnosis was wrong to begin with. read more

I have nothing but praise for Mick at German Motors. He was prompt, called me with an estimate at the time promised, and did not rip me off. In fact, his prices were about $400 cheaper than the BMW dealership. I found him honest, reasonable, and more importantly... he fixed the car! Convenient to a rental car shop as well (just 1/2 block down the street). No complaints here... will definitely be back when I need to! read more

He was honest and seemed very objective as to what the car needed. I have a fair amount of knowledge with cars and I agreed with the work he said was requried. Having been a customer with this concern since 2010, the experience was less than average. Remove and replace at random is not a substitute for modern computer and electrical situations. Example: Horn would not sound. GM could not repair it, but rather ( Checked fuse and it was not blown } advised to replace horn relay, which I did on my own. No help. Went to MB dealer who found blown second fuse, which had failed. Problem solved. This was followed by several other problems, treated the same way. Simple services were OK, but I have lost confidence and trust at GM. read more

I have been taking my Mercedes' here for many years and not only is the quality of the service 5 Star, but Mick, the owner has affordable prices and has never told me I needed a repair just to get more money out of me. (I'm a totally ignorant woman about mechanics, so it would be easy to take advantage of me). I was told by the dealership when my car was just off warranty that I needed a new transmission which would have cost me thousands of dollars. I went straight to German Motors and Mick said I did not need this. I drove that car for two more years with absolutely no issue with my transmission, btw. My new car is on warranty now, but I will be back to German Motors when it expires. read more

Would give them 2.5 out if 5 stars. Was helpful in the sense that they took my car in a timely manner but 2 huge complaints. Brought in for oil change and fluid top off, was quoted $130. Car is done and I'm presented with a $210 bill. Rule I thumb if at any point for whatever reason Cost is going to be more then what's quoted you call to approve not just do it. Second my check engine light is on and instead of taking 2 min to check it after being over charged they say "your check engine light is on". They stole my ABS breaking system from car. I called owner and told him that I was on my way, but car broke down about 1 mile from shop, had it towed in, and then he refused to work on it. No problem, his shop. I left my car there, with his permission, for 30 days before picking it up. When i got it back to my place and finally popped the hood, the ABS system was gone (another mechanic noticed it). Mick from German Motors took no responsibility. I also think they changed my expensive BMW battery for a cheap dead battery, but i can't prove it. I had my ABS when driving my car to shop, car gets picked up from shop and towed to me, hood opens and part is missing. Unless someone stole it from his lot, and he should be responsible, or one of his mechanics put it in someone else's car. Mine is a 2000 BMW 528. I've never accused a mechanic of anything illegal before in my life. Rude and unprofessional. They do a lot of business obviously, but i would not trust him, and I've filed claim against him with my insurance company. read more
