They normally only work on German/ European makes but didn't bat an eye when I showed up with my 2013 Prius, and were super courteous and welcoming. I would give 10 stars. I had an issue with a jammed glove box compartment (my kids shoved a CD inside and it blocked the mechanism). The team at Star Auto Services kindly and promptly helped me with it. I dealt with a fair share of shops since I got my Mercedes, but never experienced such courteous and efficient service before. He and his staff were professional, courteous, informative, AND REASONABLY PRICED. I can't tell you how many mechanics I've dealt with over the years. And let's not even talk about the mechanics at the dealerships. I've been working with Gonzalo the last couple of years and the service level has not dropped at all. An honest mechanic, is that an oxymoron? When do their inspections, they give potential issues that may come up, recommendations for a remedy and timing to make the repair. Maybe it's the way they present it, I don't know, but it's not as overwhelming compared to a dealer mechanic. I recommend you make an appointment if you can, but when it comes to cars, I know that's not always possible. read more

UPDATE 9/15/2018 WATCH OUT FOR DUST FROM MORGANS I picked up my car a few days ago after a E class B1 service. The service was excellent as always, however my car was extremely dusty from the nearby rock yard. Afternoon winds blew a ton of fine sand onto the pristine pre-service finish for a few hours. I delayed washing it for a few days, and the top finish now feels like 200 grit sandpaper. A good soapy wash and sample wax failed to remove it, until I used a sampling of rubbing compound and elbow grease which did. Now I have to run the entire top surfaces to remove this grit. Beware if you leave your car sitting outside after the service. (See after photos attached) -------------------------------------------- This is a new review based upon a new repair Star completed. My wife's 15 yr old BMW ventilation blower wore out months ago, and since its's hot now, she decided to have it repaired. Edwin the owner was away for the week, but his assistant diagnosed the problem. As I understood as per his mechanic, the blower unit works in conjunction with a sensor unit. I'd read the same about these ventilation systems online prior to bringing he car in. Rather than replace both components, they started with replacing only the defective sensor unit, which solved the problem. This approach saved us a few hundred $$, and we appreciate this. The blower unit is HUGE, and it would have been a monster of a job removing it, let alone replacing it. The tech kept the car a little longer than normal (one extra day) to ensure proper function and cooling. Everything worked like new. Wife is happy-so I'm happy. I dropped by the other day to personally thank Edwin for having such talented and honest assistants and mechanics on hand in his brief absence. As part of making a car sale transaction, it was determined by the buyer that Star Auto would evaluate the car beforehand. We took the car there and the buyer's favorite technician did a good job of looking over some of the most critical areas of potential trouble for a used car. He also brought to the fore his knowledge of specific issues related to that make and model. And best of all, he did a balanced job of letting the potential buyer know that the car seemed in good shape but that there could possibly be certain unseen issues down the road simply because of patterns he has seen. He was discreet in leaving us to discuss whether and how to move forward after being presented this information. And lastly he didn't try to influence things one way or the other once he heard what we were going to do. I left with a feeling that you'll get a fair shake and good service at Star Auto. Honestly, I don't even know where to start with Star Auto. If you look at the handful of 5-star ratings I've given, all of them have been because the businesses went above and beyond my expectations for customer service as well as quality of product. Edwin and Tony of Star Auto impressed me beyond all expectation, and I really can't say enough good things about them as people as well as their quality of service. Long story short, someone rear-ended the back bumper of my Mercedes and left a huge dent on the right-hand side. In addition to the dent, the bumper also popped out a bit on the right side. Every single shop told me that fixing it was impossible and I'd have to replace the whole thing, and the quotes ranged from $1,750-$2,000 since it was a newer model. I almost didn't stop by Star Auto because I figured they'd just take one look and tell me the same thing, but I am so incredibly glad I went ahead and dropped by just in case. The shop itself is pretty small, and parking is limited because all the spaces are filled up with cars awaiting service (which is a good sign, especially when you consider how empty some of the other auto shops are along the same street). Edwin came outside with me to look at the damage and was quiet for a long time while he examined the bumper, but he was incredibly thorough and careful. The other estimators at previous auto shops had come out, taken a five-second glance at it, and declared airily that it was a done deal. Edwin came out with a flashlight, ran his hands over the bumper, crawled underneath the back to examine the inside, and then went to get Tony for a second opinion. Tony was really detailed at examining the damage as well, all without me having to say a word. I could really tell that they just CARED and really wanted to give me the best option, and I really couldn't ask for more. After they were done examining the damage, I expected that they would go inside and give me a quote for the replacement, but Edwin asked me if I had some time right then because they could try fixing it. He was honest and upfront and said he wasn't sure if it was possible or how good it would look, but they could give it a try. I was shocked (in a good way) that they would take the time right then and there, but it was so refreshing as well. When I said that I hadn't brought my checkbook, they were basically like, "Don't worry about that right now, let's see what we can do first." I mean, when was the last time that a business wasn't all about money?! Like I said, these guys are just amazing people and they really wanted to help instead of thinking about monetary gain right off the bat. Edwin popped the side that was sticking out right back in, and Tony heated up the back bumper and tried pushing out the dent, which took them about twenty minutes. He then went back in and tried to smooth everything out before wiping off most of the scratch marks and leftover coloring from whoever had hit it. After he was done, it looked absolutely AMAZING, much much better than I was expecting it to look from the get-go. Edwin then told me that if I wanted it to look even better, I could take it to a Mercedes dealership and have them do a retouch so the few areas that had chipped paint would be like new. My last visit to Star he recommended I retire my BMW for weekend use and purchase a new car based on the amount of driving my line of work requires, the condition of the car and cost of repairs over time would not be worth while. It's such a relief to have found Gonzalo and everyone at Star Auto. I had my car towed to them based on AAA recommendation of where "everyone" goes and I could not be happier.
