I've been going to AutoTECH for several years, and the last time I went there, I felt that the estimate / cost for the service was highly inflated. This is frustrating because I don't have visibility into the labor hours and parts costs which are required to complete a job, and it seems that their estimates are very high for standard jobs like replacing spark plugs ($1900) and water pump / timing belt ($1800). Highly recommend to others that they shop around. read more

I bought a car and all the repair records were in the glove box and most were from AutoTech so I thought I would give them a try. I was about to take a road trip and was worried about something going wrong. They offer a pre road trip inspection, which I had done and everything checked out other than needing shocks. What a pleasant experience! I'll be back! read more

Once again AutoTech made my day! I pulled in with a small issue and Sheen fixed it within 10 min! He was so kind about it too. Thank you!! read more

Brought my mom's car in the shop for service. Saw that a previous shop had done absolutely nothing and we had it towed here. They did a great job. They replaced the starter, battery and fluids. Shoutout to Sheen for the service! read more

A huge Thank You, to the entire staff and mechanics at AutoTECH Blackhawk! Everyone was amazing from my first call to my last question as I was leaving! I recently had a very unfortunate situation occur with a dealership. I called and they got my car in ASAP. They performed safety checks to ease my mind that the car was safe for my daughter to drive. I was not charged for the checks. I received via text, what I would call a Car Health Report with pictures. It is click and view, user friendly software, that is categorized, detailed, and accessible. A picture is attached of items it turns out I had no idea I needed to address in the near future or monitor. Will be bringing all three of my cars here from now on! read more

The entire team is professional, friendly, and thorough! They took care of my car's servicing thoroughly, and didn't charge for diagnosis when they couldn't reproduce an issue. Price is reasonable and the quality of work is exceptional. I'm definitely returning for my next round of servicing read more

I went to the Blackhawk location to get our busted tire fixed. They took in our SUV the afternoon before Thanksgiving with no appointment. It took them an hour to fix it. This saved our trip back to SoCal. Great job! Thanks guys!! read more

Shout out to Max and all the Techs @ AutoTech! Took my Ford Explorer in for some build enhancements to make it a better "Explorer" in all conditions. Leveling Kit, Engine Work, Suspension Work, Big Brakes as well as tires and wheels. This was certainly a detailed build, and even with some expected setbacks and delays, everything turned out great and Max's communication with me throughout the 3+ months it took to complete was excellent. Thanks Max and Thanks AutoTECH!!! read more

i made an impromptu "drop-in" to AutoTECH for information regarding a Smog Check. Kacey, the owner, just happened to be crossing the parking lot, and did not mind stopping, and answering questions re: monitors on my Audi not registering data, due to lack of driving...therefore, another business had not been able to complete my Smog Check. He willingly, briefly checked my monitor, and confirmed "Yes" ...you will need to drive the vehicle regularly, with stretches on the highway. i was quite impressed with the pro-customer encounter ...and quick, detailed feedback. My son had highly recommended this business, and I agree. read more

I took my 1987 Toyota pickup here before it got smogged. It's a carburetor so they need to get the tune almost perfect for it to pass. Luckily, they were able to help me at a reasonable price. Highly recommend! read more

They are friendly, knowledgeable, well supported, quick response. Charges are fair too.

I used to trust Blackhawk Auto Tech with all my vehicles, but unfortunately, things have taken a serious turn for the worse. This shop used to be great--they paid attention to detail and genuinely cared about the customer experience. I brought all my cars here for everything. But ever since the ownership changed (if I understand correctly), the quality of service has gone completely downhill. I waited two months for a simple brake replacement estimate, followed up multiple times, and made it clear that it was urgent--and still never received anything. On top of that, a separate brake job they did complete started squeaking immediately. When I reached out about it, they told me to drop the car off for the whole day--with no ability to schedule even a basic 2- to 4-hour window to diagnose their own work. No flexibility, no accountability, and no effort to work with me on managing my schedule or the needs of my vehicle. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe it. I've already moved on to another shop in San Ramon that actually values its customers and stands behind their work. Blackhawk Auto Tech lost a loyal customer--permanently. read more

OMG!!! This place is awesome! I had a hole in my tire and urgently needed it repaired. I tried Big O, Americas tire, all of which had either a 2 hr wait or couldn't do a thing until the next day. I called CJ and he said to come in and they would be happy to help me saying no more than a 30 min wait. When I drove up, Max rushed up to my car , and quickly started to take off my tire! Omg... he was so energetic, enthusiastic and extremely kind. CJ AND Max, you both are incredible! Thank you so much for saving my day. read more

Kacey's auto repair shop is a blessing to have in the neighborhood. Have become a regular customer. They're a busy shop which says they must be doing something right. This trip had to have a smog related issue corrected prior to getting a certification for tags. Good communication between technician and service counter. Problem fixed and for more than reasonable cost. Thanks AutoTECH! read more

Since 2016, they've revived our vintage automobiles and maintained our brand-new vehicles. Whether it's Jaguars or Escalades and everything in between, their performance is outstanding, complete with photo documentation. They provide upfront estimates, service appointment reminders, easy online approvals, and convenient payment options. Often, they're more cost-effective than dealerships, with consistently superior work. read more

Had my car fixed here a few times ! Very responsive staff and they do a good job and know what they are talking about. Small shop though but they do offer loaner cars or shuttle service to nearby places. Prices tend to be a tad bit higher though but you do pay for the quality. read more

Took my car here. They did a great job at affordable prices. Highly recommend this place.

Because I like to give positive reviews, I had first left a positive one for this business - until I found out from the certified mechanic at the official AUDI dealership that the work (the extremely angry) mechanic at Autotech Blackhawk performed on my car caused $7,000 dollar's worth of damage to my engine. I wish I had driven away immediately when I discovered the mechanic was in such a bad mood, and his helper was a novice was being trained. Not the type of people to trust your car with. I would have much preferred to give this feedback to Autotech personally and not on a public forum. But when I called to speak with them last week, the woman who answered the phone was very rude to me when I asked to speak with the owner/manager. And they still have not returned my call. BAD follow-up customer service. VERY BAD mechanical work. I STRONGLY REGRET HAVING THEM WORK ON MY CAR. If you are an Audi owner STEER CLEAR or they might damage your car too. Update to the review: I received a call from the owner/manager Kasey this morning and he immediately started yelling at me about the fact I left a Yelp review, completely ignoring the fact I had left a message at his business days earlier before turning to Yelp. He was intimidating and it was a very unpleasant interaction. I regret all interactions with this business. They took zero accountability and this whole debacle cost me $7000. read more

Our car broke down right before we got home. I had to walk my kids and baby home. One of the mechanics came out, was able to look at the car and even tow it in. Forever grateful. Kacey and his beautiful wife and team are so so helpful, nice And super professional. You walk into a super clean business with nothing but smiles, laughter and offered refreshments...I was floored because now a days it's hard to find businesses this awesome...ok back to Kacey (master auto mechanic/owner) No one in the area or The surrounding area knew how to place caliper covers nor heard of caliper covers/spacers accept Kacey. He did a phenomenal job....and I get so many compliments...I've had to screen shot auto tech so strangers can take a pic. Kacey was so patient and kind...I asked him thousands of questions and he for sure had the answer. I will most definitely be back. 5 stars. read more

In a day where customer service is almost non-existent, Auto Tech came through. CJ in particular was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Do not hesitate to deal with this shop, I will be bringing them my Mercedes E350 for any needs I have. If you're reading this thank you again CJ! read more

Amazing service as always! I generally go to AutoTECH for my oil changes. I need to post another FIVE STAR review for Kacey and his outstanding team of professionals at AutoTECH Blackhawk. They are absolutely great. GREAT. Since I posted my previous review, they have serviced both of our vehicles (a Mercedes Benz CLS550 and a Subaru Outback) and each and every time they have done so to our complete satisfaction. Add in that their rates are extremely competitive - don't let the "Blackhawk" name put you off - and you have a highly recommendable company. Extra shout out to Kelli who always makes me smile (and laugh). read more

I am extremely impressed with the Staff and Services we received at AutoTech Blackhawk. These folks came highly recommended from our friends and they were about as well versed, righteous and honest as I've ever seen! In this case they diagnosed and fixed the problem on my son's Hummer in record time and they didn't pull any stunts to up charge on the labor or parts. We are Extremely Satisfied and Highly Recommend AutoTECH Blackhawk!! read more

HIGHLY recommend. I am an amateur wrencher on my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek and have been modifying it since I bought it. The folks at Blackhawk AutoTECH have always been great. I have done most of the modifications on my car myself, but occasionally there is a modification that is above my level or that I frankly don't have the time to do myself. They know Subarus inside and out and have always been extremely professional and do great work. I could not be more happy. There have also been a few times that I'll be doing work on my car myself but have a question or two and I'll stop bye just to ask for some tips. They are more than willing to just give advice even if they aren't doing the work for me. Will be a repeat customer for sure! read more

Stated opening hour for Monday is 8 AM. On Monday, 10/7 I arrived at 8 AM. They were not open. I waited thinking that perhaps the delay was commute related. Finally at 8:30 AM someone did show up. He told me that they were closed for the day as his boss gave them a mental health day off. This was not reflective on their door, no signage whatsoever. I give the boss credit for giving his employees a mental health day off, but now this has negatively impacted my mental health. No apology was given that I waited for 30 minutes. This repair shop is AAA rated and now I question if "customer service" is included in this rating. If this repair shop repairs their cars as they treat customers, I won't be going back. read more

All of the technicians I worked with here, and especially the front desk of Max and Geraldine, are absolutely the best. The technicians are super knowledgeable and don't give up until the problem is truly solved. Their customer service is outstanding! They don't just rush and give you back your car without truly diagnosing the root cause and putting a solid fix. They are honest and very detailed. I particularly want to call out that when I brought my car in, I mentioned that there was almost no gas, and I asked if that could be related to the issues I had with the car. When I picked up my car after the test run by the technicians, I noticed that my tank was almost half full! They didn't even mention this to me. That they added the gas proactively. I really thank them for the super attention to detail and wonderful service - we will definitely be coming here regularly for our car maintenance and super, highly recommend them. read more

I had a great experience brining my car here for the first time. My driver car seat adjuster came completely undone. They were able to fix my seat in a reasonable time and price. They sent pictures after the diagnosis to let me know exactly what was wrong. There was a slight hiccup and they immediately fixed it and were able to accommodate the problem. They also have a large variety of make and model cars so that made me even more comfortable and confident in this company. The entire staff is very nice and professional. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. read more

We were absolutely thrilled to be recommended to AutoTech. I have always taken my Audi Q5 to the dealership. But, after a routine check up at the dealership we were told we needed brakes. We wanted to get a second opinion. We are so happy we did. The mechanics at AutoTech told us our brakes were fine. They could have absolutely told us we needed them, and charged us for the service. I really appreciate their honesty! You do not get that now a days! We will be taking all of our cars here. From now on. Thank you very much for your honesty, and wonderful service. read more

Had a last minute issue (around rush hour) with the battery in my Chevy Tahoe. Didn't have time to troubleshoot or look into changing it out myself. Called a few places to see if anybody could help me out given the last minute request--AutoTECH was busy but told me to come in and they would figure it out. Everybody from the receptionist to the owner (who actually swapped my battery out for me) was amazing! Friendly and understanding--I was in and out in 45min. Felt like a family run business and it was obvious listening to the employees talk that customer service was a priority. I've been driving by AutoTECH for 11yrs and this is the first time I've brought a vehicle to them. This will be my go-to auto shop going forward. Can't believe I haven't looked into them earlier...thx Kacey! read more

My car told me that one of my tires needed air. I called autotech since I live around the corner. I explained that I am unfortunately unable to put air in my tires given a disability. Shelby told me to come in and see what we could do. I did that right away and Jesus checked the tire pressure and found that my passenger rear side tire needed air. He proceeded to put air and then discovered that my tire needed a repair. He let me know, and I agreed to the repair. They did it on the spot, charged me a reasonable rate, and sent me on my way. They were kind, they were efficient, and they were prompt. I'm glad they live around the corner from me. Thank you Jesus and Shelby and the rest of the office. read more

3 things in life that are tough to find, but if you do find it..... you stick with it. 1. an edifying church, 2. a caring doctor, and 3. an honest mechanic. I am sticking with Autotech Tassajara. Living in Danville I was hoping one of the many rotating oil change/repair business on 3600 Tassajara would work out. When Troy expanded beyond the San Ramon Autotech and opened up this shop I was hopeful. When he kept Ryan as the shop manager I knew they would do well as Ryan was one of the bright lights in that location through all the ownership changes. I've had brakes, radiators, belts, repaired and each time was told exactly what was wrong and what needed to be repaired. More importantly, they told me what repairs were could wait. They respect the fact that I have a budget and have older cars that I don't want to dump money into unless I have to. Who else does that?! One time my daughter's car was making a squealing sound so we took it in to Autoech. Most places would do what I call "replacement diagnostics where they start replacing parts while charging you along the way until the sound stops. Autotech checked, test drove, and not being able to replicate the sound told us it was one of 3 things and if it happens again just to bring it back in. No charge?! Who else does that?! It's been 6 months and no problems. I am bringing 3 out of 4 of our cars here (one is under warranty so goes to the dealer), and with one close to 200K miles and the other nearing 300K am reluctant to spend extra money on them unless I have to. Autotech keeps them all running in top condition without any extra costs. An honest mechanic is a good thing to find. read more
