Absolutely disgusting spaghetti and the meatballs were burnt. The burnt smell was so strong I could literally smell it before I opened the container. As if that wasn't bad enough, the spaghetti itself tasted like absolutely nothing. I have no idea how you make a pomodoro taste like nothing at all but that's what was accomplished. Worse yet, it was like $20 dollars for this dish. I only gave this more than 1 star because 1 of the meatballs was edible, actually had a decent flavor and the bread was good. We were a party of 4 and we visited the location at 16th street and Glendale Ave. Most of us ordered spaghetti and my meal had some type of a hard foreign object mixed into the meal. I refused to eat anymore of the meal. I brought this issue with the waiter and this place was so cheap that they didn't even comp the meal. I highly not recommend this particular location read more

I have only been back to babbo three times since the major renovation was completed, and each time I wonder why I am not dining there more often. Recently I stopped in around 2:00 and enjoyed a delicious dish of asparagus and mushrooms with shaved Parmesan, and a perfect GG martini. Man I was excited to bring my friends to try babbo because I used to work at the surprise location back in the day, but we all left disappointed. I'm not this person to leave reviews, I'm not a Karen nor a Ken so hear me out. Service was horrible, food was great! It started from the time I entered, asked for a booth and there were plenty because it wasn't busy, and he tries to sit me at a table. I politely asked for a booth again because maybe he didn't hear me easy mistake. Get to the booth, my friends were still on their way and they asked me to order them a tea. I told the server and he said i'll get their drink order when they get here, and walks away. Now why wouldn't you just bring the tea out with my drink, it's one less thing you have to do bro. And on top of that he leaves the table when I'm mid sentence which was hella rude. That happened a couple more times in the evening. Friends arrived he's walking around the restaurant very sluggish, his energy was very sloth like. Wish I knew his name, but he never introduced himself. the experience he chose to give was very transactional. He didn't care. I had to keep asking him for refills of tea, even when we had empty glasses twice in a row that he came to the table. He brought our appetizer and we had no utensils, waited for him to come by, but felt like he was avoiding us so I asked another server. We would ask for things and he wouldn't bring half of it, probably cuz he kept walking away as we were talking to him. I felt bad at first, but the more he would just walk away mid sentence, the less I felt bad. He would've got more than 7 dollars on a tab of 109.44, I'm sure he didn't care. I wanted to leave less, but my friend gave me 5 to give him. I tip above because I know how hard it can be in the service industry. This place is the fast food of italian food. Its good, but not even remotely "great." My new favorite thing is their need to add a BS "Surcharge" for rising menu pricing. Nevermind that that are selling a soda that costs 11 cents for $3.50 but now they need to add another FEE because they need to reprint menus everytime the pricing goes up. Heres an idea.. USE COPIED MENUS. I went in and had three drinks and two basic entrees and with their BS surcharge it was $55. Plus tip. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Brought the family in after an event downtown. Surprised we were able to get a table for 7'so quickly on a Sunday night. The staff was great getting things out for the kids and making recommendations for a couple of first timers. Eating keto is tough at an Italian restaurant but they have some great options that don't have pasta. Definitely dirty keto but better to be dirty than to take down a plate of carbs. Kids enjoyed a simple plate of penne with butte sauce. Their favorite. Our son loves their Spaghetti and Meatballs. Caesar Salad with grilled chicken is great. Get it without the croutons if you want a keto option. Babbos is always consistent. Not the best there are better places in the valley but hard to find consistent places that everyone in a large group will be satisfied with. Give it a visit if you haven't been yet. read more

I must of stepped into a different Babbo's after reading a few reviews. Took our daughter there for her 28 Birthday. Loves to have Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo so instead of her usual spot we decided to try someplace different. Arrived at 615 on a Thursday and there were only 17 people seated in the restaurant. Our server was waiting on 4 women at one table and another group of 8. He took our drink order and after 15 minutes I had to ask him about the wine. He said I'm sorry I didn't put in. After he can with wine we ordered and appetizer which came out in about 10 minutes. He took one more drink order and brought us some more wine. Meanwhile a women and her daughter came and he served them there dinner in about 15 minutes. It's now 720 and in walks two gentlemen who order and receive the food in 20. We ordered our food at 720 before the 4 women he waiting on. Their food came out and when I asked about our order he says do you know how long it takes to bake a pizza. Omg it took another 25 minutes before our food came. Then my daughter said Olive Gardens fettuccine is better. 1.6 hours for wine, fettuccine and a 11" pizza. The only thing from a 1 star was the pizza and wine were good and the appetizer. When I asked for a manager he never appeared. Go figure. Not sure I would try there service again. read more

Wow wow wow is all i can say! I brought my parents here from Jersey because my mom loves bread and wanted her to try the foccacia bread they bring complimentry to the table .. Besides that and the amazing pastas we raved about... what really really made our experience was our waiter Gerard! He was absolutely exceptional and went above and beyond accommodating even though was a very busy night. Thrilled with how happy my parents were with everything, i went and told Tyler the manager and even he was wonderful! Willing to drive the distance again just for the service here. Our first visit I had their version of chicken picatta. Wow. I love lemon and capers. The chicken was very yummy. This dish was so very good. My friend had the mac and cheese and all I can say is it was some of the best stuff ever. We've tried both the chicken ceaser and chopped wedge salads and they are both very good. They aren't over dressed and have a nice ratio for ingredients. This past visit we did the spaghetti and meatballs. I substituted the zoodles for pasta and I think I'm never going to have it with pasta. Wow it was good. The meatballs are giant. Like I said it's on special Monday and Tuesday. They have some happy hour specials as well so I'll have to head back over for that soon. They had a fundraiser for PCH not long ago and that's when we saw them on the news and decided to try them. We had wanted to go somewhere else, but didn't make a reservation and given that I have passed this place numerous times over the years we thought we would give it a shot. It was absolutely crazy busy but they found room for us at the bar. for me this is definitely a 3 Star. It's just okay. Really you could say it's a 2 star because I've definitely had a lot better but I don't want to ding them and it really is okay. It may just me our taste but it was really average food. We shared the starter bread, some meatballs, pasta, and something else I can't even remember now. It wasn't bad, but it was very forgettable. The service was slow at the bar and the guy was really overworked from what we saw watching him help with the tons of takeout and a full bar. Mostly we were just shocked by how many takeout orders were coming through this place. It's been around a long time and clearly a local favorite, but we won't be back. The servers here at Babbo Italian Eatery wear a shirt that has "Babbo, ten years and six locations" on the back. After eating here, you will understand why they had to open more than one. Babbo is a mostly family run business, that offers simple and very tasty Italian food. It is technically a chain, but management clearly pays attention to the details and the severs in-turn stay on top of things. We found Babbo to be nice change. So many of the larger places seem to lose track of you, or they are over working their servers with too many tables. Not here. We started with a Merlot and Strong Bow ($11.45). After our trip to Ireland, I still have a taste for Bulmers. See photos. This was followed pretty quickly with two house salads ($7.99), which were crisp and tasty. For our entrées, we order the Pasta Rustico for $10.95 and I tried their Italian version of Cajan Jambalaya. Both were tasty and very good, see photos. The heat on the Jambalaya was just right and it's Italian seasoning and sausages, was both interesting and tasty. Btw, the portion sizes were enough for two take home bags. Nice! Now, I am not saying great as it's not authentic made..but good enough to not cook on a Tuesday night. I will honestly say, uts added to my..I will not go back list. Cream was sweet ( ?)
