I had dropped off my vehicle at the Brickell motors, right next door from B2 Cafe. So I figured I would stop in and check out what they had to eat, especially since their prices seemed quite fair for the area. I am so glad I did! The staff was excellent, and very friendly. We inquired about how she made our Cortaditos, because they were delicious. She gave us a whole bunch of tips on how to do it right. We also loved the decor inside - they clearly like the lightbulb theme, and it works very well. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a Prosciutto panini. They were absolutely fantastic. I was expecting something that I could make myself at home - and I was wrong. Everything was cooked perfectly, tasted excellent, and was nicely displayed. Next up was dessert. We got the chocolate cake and the tiramisu. Both tasted wonderful, and very decent sized portions. Parking might be a pain depending on your purpose for being in the vicinity, but if you're already in the area, you like what you see on the menu, I guarantee you'll be more than satisfied.

Delicious fresh food awesome staff and the lunch specials always great. The music is very trendy and hip so you don't feel like you're working during the week when you eat there.

Picadilly was bought by T.H. "Tandy" Hamilton in 1944. In 1988 they purchased another cafeteria chain, Morrison's Cafeterias which was founded by J. A. Morrison in 1920. At their height, there was 270 restaurants but poor management led to bankruptcy in 2003 and again in 2012 and they were sold off to Yucaipa Companies and Diversified Investment Management Group. By 2012 they were down to only 41 locations. South Florida had two Piccadilly Cafeterias, one in Hialeah at the Westland Mall and on the Palm Springs Mile. Both are now closed butthere is a Facebook page dedicated their memory. Today there are only two locations left in Florida, Jacksonville and this one in Hollywood! I couldn't believe there was still one left here and I made it a point to stop by for lunch.' As soon as I walked in I was flooded with nostalgia. Even the decor looks the same as I remembered. You grab a try and slide it down the line telling them what you want added to your plate. Meals include a protein, two sides, and a bread. You can add more sides for an additional price. They also have a selection of desserts of cakes, pies, and cobblers. Expect to find homestyle dishes like chicken, teriyaki chicken, fish, and fried shrimp. Vegetarians can order the four vegetable plate. I had the roast beef drenched in au jus, carrot souffle, and broccoli rice au gratin. It was all as good as I remembered, especially the decadent carrot souffle which is a dessert in itself. I just found a copycat recipe for the Picadilly carrot souffle and it is getting added to the Easter dinner menu. So many of our memories are associated with food and this was like a warm hug from the past. I started to tell a server how excited I was that there was still a Picadilly left and she said honey we hear that all the time. I gather a lot of their diners come here for the memories. So many of us grew up eating at cafeteria style restaurants with beloved family members no longer here. Eating here is a way to connect to the past. The restaurant was filled on the week day I visited so hopefully they will be here for a long time to come. I am already planning a visit back with a family member who is going to be elated to come here.

So I had to feed my childhood craving and decided in having lunch. I went in with an open mind but I was sad to see, it has not been maintained at all! The inside immediately feels dated nor clean. I decided on a few of the classics. Honestly I only had a few bites of each dish. Food was cold and it had probably been sitting around for quite some time. Within a few hours after having finished my meal, I had gone straight to the bathroom. (Not in a good way). Very sad, I would predict they would be closing their doors soon. The only positive was the service. Everyone was kind and attentive. Great staff!

The little grandma was so friendly and sweet, and was kind enough to refill my coffee mug with extra milk. And she even steamed it before refilling for me! That's the kind of service you don't really get anymore without either paying an arm and a leg or just have to go without these days. The food gets 4 stars because the hash brown could be a little less oily and the palmas steak could be a little more tender. Otherwise, the flavor and the amount is amazing... The prices deserves 5 stars in this economical climate and I'm shocked they can be this cheap in this neck of the woods but I appreciate it nonetheless. My only complaint is actually the mosquitoes... I got 6 bites in the 30mins while I ate there. I didn't dock off any stars for that because it is Miami with an open front, but beware if you are a mosquito magnet...

It was lunch time and the place was actually empty so we were skeptical but gave it a try anyways. Definitely looks like a family owned and family-run restaurant. The menu has a lot of choices. I believe the main dishes were only available for dinner so we went with the breakfast and lunch option. Steak, egg, toast, coffee- hubby got this breakfast special and the portion was huge! Look at the plate. It was a big slice of steak, 2 eggs (scrambled) fries, a side of bread and a cup of coffee. We could have totally shared the one entree and be full for 2 people! The price definitely beats the portion. Steak sandwich- I got the sandwich which was also big in portion. It came with chips fries on top. The sandwich had onions and lettuce, tomatoes. It may not be the tastiest meal but it def satisfied our belly and our wallet. The service was great. The guy who took our order was very nice and the lady seems like she didn't speak a lot of English. The food was not salty so more on the bland side so you can definitely dress it up with sauce. We would definitely stop by here again if in town to try their dinner menu. Price definitely is great for budget friendly people :)

I was in the neighborhood to get a badly needed haircut while visiting from the Bay Area for work and next door on the corner on an otherwise unassuming street is this solid legit Cuban sammie and coffee place. Locals galore sitting outside sipping strong Cuban coffee and eating Sammie's and empanadas. Who am I to argue with the locals. They definitely steered me right on this one. The Cubano was stuffed with moist roasted pork and ham with pickles and melted cheese. The spicy garlicky green sauce that comes with it could make an old shoe delicious ! The coffee was spot on and that roasted pork and plantain empanada also hit the proverbial spot. All in with tax and tip for $25 I was stuffed full and now remarkably fluent in Spanish ! Located a couple of blocks off a major road (Washington Ave.), Las Olas Cafe felt like a hole-in-the wall neighborhood joint - a team of off-duty police officers were enjoying their dinner inside the restaurant, and families were eagerly lined up at the to-go window outside the restaurant. As I waited in line to order, I perused the menu, which included breakfast items, coffee, and a variety of sandwiches. Even though there were only a couple of customers ahead of me in line, each meal was made-to-order before the next order was taken. This meant that the staff prepared about half a dozen coffees, a couple of smoothies, and several meals before it was my turn to order. When I finally placed my order for a Cubano sandwich, I waited about 20 minutes for my food to be prepared. My sandwich was served piping hot, and I eagerly took my food to go so I could enjoy it at the beach nearby. Despite the wait (about an hour from the time I arrived at the cafe despite the short line), my food was delicious. The sandwich was stuffed with crispy shredded pork and ham, and a generous amount of mustard, melted cheese, and pickles pulled it all together.

LOL Sky Coffee Buenos Aires is a viral Miami spot on social media and I can see why! What makes it so unique is this small Argentinian cafe operates out of the front part of a former Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-8. I visited here on Monday and was thankful to find parking on the side of the street. As you come in-The plane is set up in a small park like area. They have outside tables you can dine and I loved that the whole area is decorated in an airport theme throughout the property. There was even a set of airport waiting seats and luggage as you make your way on the plane. Roaming the ground you will see adorable roosters, hens, and their babies which is super adorable. You place food and drink orders inside the cabin of the plane where you can also see the cockpit. They had the viral Dubai chocolate and strawberries along with sandwiches, pastries, and coffee beverages. Their sugar croissant was a must. Service was friendly and warm. They were even wearing airline uniforms, how cool is that?! I decided on a vanilla cold cream latte and that sweet croissant which was ready in no time and took it to go. There's two enclosed plastic patio domes on the property you can't miss. This is available through a reservation ONLY. Looks like a cozy spot and it is air conditioned inside which would be extremely comfortably on those hot Florida days for folks to enjoy. With this photogenic location and the delicious food and drinks makes Sky Coffee a must stop when you are in Miami.
