I was meeting a friend today in the downtown area and decided to try Pega Grill after seeing all of the good reviews. It has been on my To Do list for a while. I'm so glad that I did. The restaurant is very pleasant, bright, clean and comfy. I liked the minimalist look. The server, Reyna, was friendly, helpful and knows the menu very well. I enjoy Greek food after my trip to Santorini. I decided to order the Authentic Greek Salad. It was hot today and the salad was refreshing, healthy, and delicious with the Homemade Chicken Gyro! If you want moussaka this is NOT the place. They served a burnt little square that had zero béchamel on top but has a breading on top like it was pot pie. Then told me this is how they make it. It's a completely different dish calling it moussaka but on their site the moussaka looks like it's made properly. Check the pics. read more

Ummmm such a cute lunch spot!!! I went with a coworker during my lunch hour to grab something quick and this place was definitely the spot. I've worked downtown for 10 years and for some reason I have never visited this gem. They have an amazing menu but I decided to try the lamb burger w/ caramelized onion and a egg fried hard. For some reason I can no longer eat a burger without an egg on it. I really enjoyed the restaurant and. It's only about a 5 min walk from where I work. The staff was nice and welcoming. The restaurant is a bit small but it's clean and looked nice. I really enjoyed the lamb burger and also the fries were crispy and delicious as well. Ran across this place randomly. Since there was construction going on around, you would only see this place if you were walking. No one was in the restaurant. They had my favorite Panna water so we were off to a great start. I ordered the traditional greek salad. Straight forward, no complaints. I then had the lamb burger with carmelized onions and fries. It is a small restaurant in downtown Miami that a lot of people from my office recommended but I had no idea it was going to be this good!! I'm a sauce girl but I didn't anticipate the sauce in the chicken gyro was going to be sooo amazing. Typically, one would find a tzaziki sauce in their gyro but this was cream based with some kind of spice, I want to say curry but I can't put my finger on it. Either way, I licked the paper in the end, lol no judgments PLEASE! It's a pretty decent size and I ate all of it including the fries. Btw, did you know that in Greece, they actually put fries in their gyro? I've never been but I always do it and it always takes me to a happy place. It's very clean and though busy, they were welcoming and attentive. I was even offered water as I waited for my food, which took less than 10 minutes by the way. This was my first time coming to Pega Grill. It will not be my last but I must say I will not put it past the staff to skimp me in the future as they did today. I ordered the meat gyro wrap with a side of shoe string fries. When I get there at the exact pick up time my food was ready but the young woman that was handing out orders had a difficult time figuring out if the order was mine (I ordered through yelp). I was able to confirm my order through my comments and additions to my order. My issue is that none of my additions or comments were applied. I asked for AND PAID for arugula instead of romaine lettuce. Yet I was given romaine. I also requested the onions on the side. As my picture illustrates, the onions were included. When I opened the bag to check my order I asked for ketchup and was told there was some in there. This is not a big deal but the amount of ketchup in the bag was equivalent to half a ketchup packet squeezed out into a little cup. So I definitely had to ask for more. I didn't open the wrap itself unfortunately though bc I was buying for my boss and didn't want heat to escape. So I didn't see the lettuce or onions. But I did ask that both additions were satisfied and was told they were. This is very disappointing. Little oversights like this make me feel like there are many others making me question if I should return. Aside from that, the food was good. Also, I would suggest poking holes in the containers for fried to ensure they don't get soggy. read more

When there's already a Greek place as awesome as Stoupsy's downtown, it's a gamble to open a competing place. But that's what Pega Grill has done, and so far, their bet is paying off. Fast service, tasty goods, and an efficient staff makes Pega Grill a welcome addition to the Downtown Miami dining scene. Their gyros come with fries, and while the portions aren't that big, you won't be hungry later. They have a handful of specials each day, so be sure to ask your server about them (though they're very good about telling you about them). I've had the beef & lamb gyro, the Greek salad, and the sampler platter of dips (hummus, tzaziki, taromasalata, and baba ganoush). Everything is fresh and delicious. The pita bread for scooping up the various dips comes out toasty and warm. The Greek salad is authentic, which means no lettuce, and a big hunk of feta cheese on top. The only downside about Pega Grill is that they refuse to split checks or accept more than 2 credit cards. Which is fine when you're going out lunching by yourself or with one other person. Unfortunately for Pega Grill, it means my coworkers and I don't eat there as often as we'd like. read more

The gyro was so great, it had enough tzaziki, onions, beef, lamb... and I love the Gyro when it has a bit extra sauce!! The gyro came with a portion of french fries, they were crispy and freshly done. A bit salty, but they wre crunchy!!! I mentioned the saltiness of the french fries to the waitress that asked me how was everything, they would have been glad to change them for me!... next time!! they seem to be very customer service oriented! Just came back from lunch at Pega Grill, and I have a full, happy tummy! My friend loves Greek food, and sometimes we'll grab lunch downtown on her days off. I'd walked by Pega tons of times going to and from work, so I suggested it for our girls lunch date. Service was fantastic, and they made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner. The menu is small, but has just enough of a variety and some really great options. I order the chicken gyro with their Pega Grill sauce. It was incredible. All of the flavors balanced perfectly. It's served with fries that were pretty tasty and seasoned well. Like Eve C. said, the portions are not huge, but it's just right. I definitely felt full, and I feel like it was a great value for the money. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the baklava. I looooove baklava. At Stoupsy's just a few blocks away, it's incredible and huge for the price. Here at Pega Grill? Two bite sized squares for $4.95. Take off about 2 bucks and I'd be happy with it. Was it the best baklava? No, but it was pretty good, but overpriced for the amount served in combination with it not being stellar. Pega Grill has take out and delivery, so I'll probably end up getting lunch to go from here on days when I work through lunch at my desk...which is most days. Ugh, yay for me. read more

I finally tried Stoupsy's and now I can officially say that Pega Grill is probably one of the best, if not the best, Greek restaurant in Miami. I decided to come back on Saturday as my plan to try Little Lotus fell apart due to them not being open until 6 on Saturday. It was a few minutes before 4 and although they close at 4, they took us in without a problem. We ordered the dip platter, which contains hummus, tzatziki (one of the best I have had in South Florida), spicy feta dip, and baba ganouj (made with eggplant). It came with soft, warm pita bread in an unusual metallic bucket-like container and was delicious. Next up, was a meat gyro and a half baked chicken. The chicken was a good-sized portion with lemon oregano baked potatoes and a brown sauce on the side to pour over the chicken. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was moist and tender and had a lemon & rosemary glaze on the skin. Remarkably, the meat also had the flavor of rosemary, which was brought out even more by the brown sauce. I have no idea what that sauce contained but it was divine and the perfect accompaniment for the chicken. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and had a delicious oregano flavor to them. The meat gyro came with fries, which were crunchy, and the pita bread wrapped around the meat was thick, as it should be. Inside were generous strips of meat with lettuce and tomato. It was very tasty. For dessert, since we were rushed to eat, we were given almond cake and Greek cookies on the house. Both were excellent. I did take pictures of the meal, but my sweet tooth got the best of me and by the time I remembered that I had forgotten to take pictures of the dessert, I had already devoured half of it. The manager informed me that they will be delivering and opening for dinner in a week or 2, I think he said that on the weekdays they would stay open until 9:30, and Friday and Saturday until 11. I'm so happy knowing I can now get Greek food for dinner (assuming they will come out to the Midtown/Arsht area). Please, oh please deliver to me! read more

Our group was seated almost as soon as we entered. A hostess also brought the specials board to our table while we were deciding what to eat! Our group for the most part ordered the same things--the moussakas, which is angus lean ground beef, grilled eggplant and light bechamel sauce, and the lamb gyro (I wasn't able to get a picture of that). The service was on point and our water cups never reached below half glass. The wait time for our food also didn't take long and when the food arrived we were happy campers. The plating for the gyros was wrapped in paper and served in a silver tray. My friends were so hungry they each took a bite before I could even take a picture! I asked them how each of them liked it, and they all just nodded in approval being that their mouths were stuffed. As for the moussakas, that was delicious as well. It was the Friday's special. I love eggplant and that paired with ground beef worked well together. The top layer acted as a starch and the dish as a whole reminded me somewhat of lasagna (I don't know much about Greek food, so I apologize if I sound insensitive). But with that being said the dish was a satisfying each layer complimenting each other. The salad was also refreshing. Such a nice lunch service! read more

They also have several lunch specials which looked delicious! My friend had the Moussaka and loved it. Another friend had the 1/2 roast chicken with vegetables and also loved it. Now when it comes to who has the best Spinach pie between the two downtown Greek restaurants I'm familiar with I would have to say Stoupys. Now the one I had here was good it was just dryer and possibly over cooked. The layers of phyllo were really crumbled and deep brown in color. The flavor was good and the portion was rather large. During this trip I also had the lemon potatoes. They were really good and had the right amount of tang. I was a little upset that I hadn't seen the daily specials menu until after I had ordered as they had some items on it I would have teetered between ordering. Also had the humus, which was awesome but short on pita bread to go with it. Overall, I will give Pega another try and get something off their special menu. On this day they had avocado stuffed with shrimp and it looked amazing. Not saying I would have ordered it (not an avid eater of avocado) but it was enticing. I usually order take out and since parking is a pain in downtown several times I've called and they walk up to the car to drop off food and take payment. Their gyro sandwich is ridiculous and addictive. Their Musaka equally delicious. Their fries are simple but really good and so is their tzatziki sauce. All delicious. Cute cafe atmosphere on Flagler, close to the courthouse. Service was prompt and friendly, but the dealbreaker was the food. I ordered the chicken kabob and literally a minute later it was brought to my table. Definitely not cooked fresh and had been sitting awhile it appeared and tasted. The lemon potatoes were somewhat hard and flavorless. Some sauce was brought that was also tasteless along with hot sauce from a big bottle...not good either. Pita bread was stale. Delicious! Make sure you get there just before noon to avoid the lunch rush. Excellent service, and fast. Food was great, I had the whole Yellowtail, with Lemon Potatoes as my side. The fish was very fresh, and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were awesome too, I'd never had or even heard of Lemon Potatoes, but they went with the fish rather nicely. Wish I wasn't headed back to work after, cause a nice Sauvignon blanc would have set this meal off. The lady friend went the simple route, with the Grilled Chicken Kebab with vegetables on the side. Very juicy, with a very even texture and taste throughout. I didn't try the veggies. New place I'll be frequenting for sure. read more

This place is disgusting. I ordered a chicken gyro and every single bite I took was gross fatty blob, I certainly didn't eat any chicken. It also came with the option for normal pita or whole wheat pita, and I chose the whole wheat. I got a honey or cinnamon wheat pita which for any other purpose I don't mind but I wasn't trying to eat dessert, I was trying to eat lunch. Fail, I won't go back. The food here is delicious. Considering this spot is in a quasi cursed location on Flagler, I hope it survives. The Greek salad is amazing and authentic (no iceberg lettuce). THey do a terrific roast chicken here (see the local photo I uploaded), and this restaurant is a decent low carb option in downtown. I typically get the gyro meat added to the half portion of Greek salad, which will get you out of there for about $10. For the high quality of the food it's certainly worth it. read more

I can say with no reservations that Pega Grill is my new favorite lunch destination! I'd walked by several times over the past few months and was finally lured into trying the place when I saw a patron's delicious looking grilled chicken. I've been to Pega about three times since and the restaurant does not disappoint. The first time I went with two of my colleagues from work and tried the "moussakas" which is a Friday special. I'm happy to report, it was love at first bite. On that trip I also tried their tabouli salad which is without a doubt the best tabouli I've ever tried. Coming from a huge aficionado of Greek and Middle Eastern food, that says a lot. I regularly frequent several restaurants that serve this type of food and Pega's tabouli beats them all! I noticed another reviewer mentioned they won't allow a party to pay with more than two cards, i've gone with more than one other person more than once and we never had this issue. Every other time I've visited Pega I've ordered the grilled chicken kebab since it fits in nicely with my diet of greens and protein. Pega's grilled chicken is amazing! It's seasoned and grilled perfectly and the portions are generous. The dish is served with a tasty red-colored sauce for the chicken which is a nice addition. One may choose from several sides, I've gotten the salad each time which is lightly dressed and tasty, no overpowering or creamy. Pega's hummus is also almost too good to be true and their pita is always soft, fresh and warm. I work in the downtown area, and this has become my favorite place to eat! My favorite: the authentic greek salad with gyro meat. Probably the best greek salad I've ever had. I went outside my usual and tried the moussaka on a day they had it as a special, and it was equally as delicious. The assorted dip platter is amazing, too!! Portions are also pretty generous! Downside: It's a little pricy. But considering the area (right down the street from the courthouse), that's not surprising. Most places around here are over-priced. So, if I'm going to actually go out and spend the money on lunch around here, I'd rather spend it on something yummy like Pega! read more

Excellent spot for Greek food. They are about a block from my job so I go here for lunch sometimes. Very friendly hostesses and QUICK. Nonetheless, the food is always hot and fresh. I have gotten the gyro platter- the meat is delicious. Very good seasoning and it's HUGE. The fries were good quality too. Not only that, but the veggies used are extremely fresh. I have also gotten their mousakka, which is their special on Friday. It came with a small side salad which had, again- very fresh produce and pleasant to eat. The moussaka was also out of this world. It was filled with well seasoned ground meat and fresh eggplant, cooked perfectly. The sauce had perfect, smooth and creamy consistency and very flavorful but not overpowering. Pega is Mega good. I love their Greek salad with grilled chicken, although the chicken could be a little bigger. It's not your typical salad it has cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers and feta cheese. The salad is filling and good for you. I've also tried their burgers they're good and the fries are amazing! The gyros is pretty good too. I saved the best for last...the dessert. Their almond cake is awesome and their chocolate souffle is orgasmic but it gets better, you get it in a bowl not some teeny tiny cup! I hope they never change that. read more

I had a pretty standard gyro platter here. It consisted of two slices of pita (would have liked to see a couple more), raw onions dusted with paprika, about half a tomato sliced fairly thinly, and the gyro meat. The gyro meat was slightly on the bland side and slightly greasy. The vegetables were very fresh and plentiful, so that was nice. Perhaps the best part: I was told my pick-up order would be ready in seven minutes. It was ready by seven minutes. So feels like a decent spot to pick up if you're in a rush. read more
