Their response was laughable. The item would not have been returned in clean condition because the store wasn't clean either. I did not come after hours. I had made several trips to the store and I was done with them. I had to purchase a new vacuum cleaner. This was a $400 item. read more

My prized 1973 Sansui Seven receiver started acting up intermittently - loud pops and crackles, cutting out, etc. I called Jim's Video and Audio. They didn't want anything to do with it, wouldn't even look at it. He was actually a little rude. Called B&K. Harold said "Bring it in. We work on those all the time. " James told me if he could get it to act up on the workbench he could fix it, and he did. The price was reasonable and the unit is working like a dream. Very happy. read more

The capacitors in my 2-year-old Samsung LCD TV went bad, but because it was a manufacturer's defect, Samsung covered it under warranty. The problem didn't cause my TV to break completely, only click on-and-off several times before eventually turning on. I probably wouldn't have paid to have it fixed, but since Samsung offered to foot the bill, why not? They contracted the work out to B&K under the condition that, if it was indeed a capacitor problem, I wouldn't have to pay for the fix, but if it turned out to be something other than the capacitors, I would be responsible. Fair enough. The technician arrived at my house during the window of time I was given, and set to work on the TV. I helped him pull it off of the mount above the fireplace and he went to work unscrewing the back and pulling out the innards. I thought it was a bit odd that the technician didn't even turn the TV on or attempt to recreate the problem I originally described over the phone, but hey, who am I to tell someone how to do their job? New capacitors in the TV, I help him re-mount and plug it in. Except now nothing turns on. No clicking noise, no picture, nothing -- like there's no power getting to the TV at all. It's completely broken. The technician needs to take it into the shop, which I was reluctant to do, but now I have a completely dead TV. He's going to look into the problem further and give me a call back. Except he, of course, doesn't call me back. Five days after his original visit, and two days after he said he was going to call me, I call in to the store. No explanation, no apologizing -- just the information that my once-working TV will now cost nearly $300 (roughly half the cost of a new TV of the same brand, model, and size) to get working again. No thanks. Like I said, I'm not really interested in paying to have the problem fixed since it was only a minor annoyance, but since Samsung offered to pay, why not? I tell them no thanks, to just put the old capacitors on the TV to return it to its original working condition and bring it back to me. Oh, but there's one catch -- the technician says he never saw the TV working before he gutted it and replaced the capacitors (without, you know, testing anything), and this is somehow my fault. So now I've got a broken TV that's going to cost nearly $300 to repair, but at least B&K won't profit anything from me. If you have a Samsung TV and they send you to B&K for repairs, please be very careful. If your TV is working before they arrive to "fix" it, make sure the technician sees it working. read more

I had a service call at my home to diagnose my tv problem. The person was kind and appeared to be knowledgeable. I was charged for a home visit and diagnosis ($105). I was to receive a call the next day to give me an estimate for solving my problem. I have heard nothing since and I refuse to chase an answer. I ordered a new tv vs putting anymore $ into my old one. read more

I took a record player to B&K and said i think it needs a needle cartridge, and paid them $35 and 5 days later they call and say it needs a cartridge and wanted $100 to fix it, I found the cartridge on ebay for $15 and it is held by 1 screw and they wanted $70 labor, so I said dont fix it I will pick it up and when I did they kept my $35 for diagnostics of what I told them it needed. I would never go back or suggest them to anyone. read more

Absolutely the worst on repairing Dual turntables and customer service. They had my turntable for THREE months! and didn't fix it. Every time I called he said I was rushing him....are you kidding me? It was worse when I picked it up than when I took it to them. Clearly don't know anything about mechanical devices. Wasted $85. I took to a reputable repair shop in Saint Louis and they fixed with two hours labor. Only needed adjustments. Done the next day. The opposite of B&K! read more

These people broke my equipment & then refused to repair it properly, or return the fee they charged me. Serious lack of integrity. I advise people to avoid this shop. They even admitted they broke it, & the guy at the counter broke a piece off right in front of me while trying to force the cover off the unit. The main board on my 55" LG failed. James at B & K had to order the parts, but still had the tv fixed in less than a week. He even offered to deliver and install it at my Ozark home. I'm very pleased with the service provided and would recommend B & K. read more

The worlds worst service ever!! Stay far away from b&k audio. My big screen was powering off by its self. The owner came out to service my tv and looked at it maybe 3 minutes before he decided that he had to order a part the was $ 250.00 just for the part. He took my money and said it would take about a week. Well 45 days later after many phone calls form me i had to go in and get my money back but only after i caused a big stink! They are liars and will steal your money quick. the next day community audio and video came out fixed the problem with in 30 minutes and didn't order any parts. My TV just needed to be reset! I don't know how people like b&k stay in business! BAD BUSINESS BAD OWNER!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

WORST AUDIO EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I took my monitor app for repair on August 31st, 2017 and paid the $35.00 diagnostic fee. So after two weeks I got an estimate... fair enough.So a month went by...waiting on parts. 2 months go by, parts in but cannot get an estimate on when the unit will be finished. Nearly 3 months, I'm told needs more parts. Parts came in but still cannot estimate when the unit will be finished. At 3 months, I threaten to pick up the unit and ship it to the manufacturer...but decide not to, because I was afraid he would not put the unit back to the same shape that I took it in. So after about 4 months and still no timeframe when the unit will be fixed, I decided once and for all to get the unit and ship it. I pick the unit up, and just as I feared, the unit would not even power on, I took it back the next day and let them know what happened. Over a week I get the unit back I shipped it to the manufacturer, and they said they had NEVER seen anything like this. He didn't even bother to put the unit back together properly. But they completely rebuilt and upgraded the unit in a few days time like they said they would at a price less than B&K's final estimate. (shipping costs made it cost more.) But it was well worth it. compare 3 days to repair per their word to 4 months to get nothing in terms of how long it may take to repair from B&K. Maybe he didn't know how to fix it, would be my guess. I wouldn't expect B&K to do as thorough a job as the manufacturer, but I would have at least expected B&K to let me know when the unit would have been ready, especially after having the unit nearly 4 months. Plain ole CRAPPY and UNPROFESSIONAL service and I expected better!!! Last thing though, the guy up front went out of his way to be professional and a gentleman. read more
