Buyer beware - Mitchum does not allow you to return anything. They will only exchange items. Read that again - there is ZERO return policy. So if you buy something as a gift, the person doesn't like it, and the store has nothing else the person likes, you are stuck with the jewelry item or store credit. What makes this even worse is I specifically asked what the return policy was and was told it was 10 days. Their exchange policy is 10 days - they have ZERO return policy. The sales rep lied. Guys - if you are buying an engagement ring, you better be damned sure she is going to say yes. read more

We are in the recovery of Covid and yet we felt very unwelcomed today at Mitchum. Perhaps it was a new hostess or perhaps because we came into the store still wearing of vacation tshirt and khaki shorts. My wife and I did not care for the way we were "managed". read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Mitchum Jewelers. Don't be intimidated because it's a fine jewelry store with high-end merchandise. You will be treated with kindness and leave feeling like you've made a friend. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and not just about their own products. Half the people have worked at other establishments in the area, and they now work at Mitchum for a reason--they know how to treat their customers well, and the service is simply unmatched. With all the other chain stores around (not to mention the internet), jewelry stores are everywhere. Lots of places scream sale pricing and history...Mitchum doesn't need that. They prove their worth with a great staff that doesn't belittle you or make you feel uncomfortable. They also do not beg their customers for Yelp reviews, which is why I am writing this. Whether you are going in for an engagement ring, a Pandora bead, or celebrating another special occasion in your life, go to Mitchum. Their jewelers are educated and talented, and any repair work you need will be done in-house. It's nice to have a trusted place to leave your jewelry and not worry that it's being worked on by a random, part-time person that could care less what happens to it. You can just tell that the working environment is healthy and happy. It's less than a ten minute drive from other 'fancy' locally owned stores, and it's worth it. They did a good job on resizing some rings for me. They had them ready early and they look like new. I would certainly recommend them.

I DO NOT recommend Mitchum Jewelers in Ozark. They will never get another cent of mine. I will not hesitate to tell people not to shop there when looking for jewelry. My wife and I went in there to try on a Pandora ring several weeks ago. The girl who helped us put wife's size into the computer and told me that if I decided to get it for her to come in and give wife's name. So I went back in 12/16 to get the ring that she wanted. I told the guy who helped me (Aaron Ulrich) that a ring size should be in the computer for my wife. He looked it up and said yeah I got it right here. We went over to the rings and got one that looked like the one she wanted. He said that he got the size that was listed for her in the computer. I bought it. Wife opens it up and is super excited until she puts it on. Doesn't fit, way to big, even slides around on her middle finger. It was her "big" gift and the thing she wanted the most. I take the ring and my receipt back there today to get one that fits. I tell the girl that I was sold the wrong size of ring and needed to get the proper one. I told her that the size should be in the computer. She said she say the size in there. I asked her what size it showed in the computer, she said 52 Eur. I look at the receipt of the ring I was sold and it says 58 Eur. I asked her if it said 52 in computer then why was I sold a 58. She said she didn't know. I asked if she could check to see if they have a 52 and she said she would check. We go out to the counter and she looks in one drawer and go no we only have 58. I asked if she could you check the other drawers so acted kind of annoyed and looked in the others. She said no only got the 58 but I guess I could look in back to see if we have any there. She comes back out and says nope nothing back there. I asked how long to order and she was like maybe 2-2 1/2 weeks. I told her that was a long time to wait for a Christmas present when I was sold the wrong size. She told me that maybe he sold me the wrong size because they didn't have the right size in stock. (They had the 52 when we tried it on, since we knew that's what fit) I told her that would have been nice to know when I was buying it because I would've looked for it at other places for the correct one. She just kinda starred at me and asked what I wanted to do. I told her I was going to call around. I called a couple of other places and they were out of them. One of the places (Justice Jewelers) asked me what happened. I told them the story. They said maybe Mitchum would let me keep the ring with a spacer until the new one came in. I told them they were not going to allow me to do that, their response, "Well they messed up and if you bought it here that's what we would do for our mistake." So I order it from Mitchum since I was already there and she told me it would be 2-2 1/2 weeks. (I was going to have to order it from any place I went since they were all out of stock now.) She prints off the return slip, hands me a special order slip and tells me they will call me when it comes in. I walk out of the store and start driving home. I look at the receipt and notice the "Ready date" is showing 02/08/2014! That's a little longer than 2-2 1/2 weeks folks.... Sold the wrong size, and was lied to about how long it would take to get the correct one back in. NOT ONCE did Mitchum say we are sorry for messing up and selling you the wrong size. NOT ONCE did sales person get the manager or the owner (which I saw him there) to try to figure something out. NOT ONCE did they offer to let me keep the current ring until the new one came in. NOT ONCE did the offer to anything. Piss Poor Customer service was shown, the day I bought and today trying to get the correct one. read more

After ordering a diamond online well in advance of a trip out of town. I was well assured it would be there on time. it showed up too late and with two major flaws in the main stone. so I returned it and went off to look locally for a ring. I wound up in Springfield looking at many nice stores but had no customer service or ability to do custom work on site. feeling frustrated I gave up and on the way home saw a sign for Mitcham jeweler, so I figured why not one last stop on the way home. I went in and was welcomed by the owner himself who personally took time to help me pick out a ring and then customize it to my own liking . I was nothing but pleased and it completely changed my day. everything went perfect and I'll most definitely be shopping locally again and Mitchum jeweler. There are no words that can describe how much of a lifesaver they were, they got me exactly what I wanted at a great price. read more

I looked all around Springfield for a ring for my soon to be fiance. The more I looked the more education I got about diamonds and the quality of them. Zales, Justice Jewelers, Andersons, Helzberg,..even the hole in the wall places. The closest to me finding the ring I wanted for the right price without paying for s*** was Maxons jewelry. I was about to buy the ring when i thought maybe I would make the short drive to Mitchum Jewelers because what would it hurt at this point considering I've price checked everything in Springfield at this point. I walked in an was instantly greeted by the owner who was very friendly and down to earth and not pushy at all. I was able to build my fiances ring with an EXCELLENT quality diamond and setting exactly the way i priced at others for at least 1500 cheaper and one of a kind, but better yet the diamond cut clarity color and carrot weight (the four c's) was by far better than anywhere i had previously visited. AND the trade in value was dollar for dollar on what you spend rather than having to pay double at other stores in order to upgrade. Needless to say i walked out of the store that day with an absolute perfect ring and feeling confident in my purchase. Will not go anywhere else when purchasing jewelry. read more
