We were building a house and had a different moving company move us from a house into an apartment/storage and they were awful - so many more items than we initially realized that were damaged and broken that we found in storage. No complaints with this crew and how they handled our furniture and not damaging our new home. The only down side to this group is they have really small trucks (or if they have a bigger truck it was not available when we moved). Our 2 bedroom apartment furniture did not all fit in one truck (no boxes just furniture). They did feel bad and went back and picked up our patio furniture and grills without charge. We spent less time and money with this group and were very happy even with the smaller truck sizes. We hope not to be moving anytime soon, but would definitely recommend Ready to Roll if we were.

Leaders - The Movers from Hell…read more We recently contracted with Leaders to pack-load-move-unload our household from Cincinnati, OH to Columbus, OH. Calling the experience an unmitigated disaster is an understatement. The problem, as we understand it, began during the walk-through by the Leaders representative. Evidently, he grossly underestimated the size of our household. We even contacted Leaders twice before our move date to ask about two pieces of furniture that seemingly were not on the inventory. Both times we were assured that Leaders, being the professionals that they are, not only perform accurate estimates, but also plan for such possibilities. When packing day arrived, the crew was improperly supplied: not enough packing tape, and 20" garment boxes with 24" bars. Yep; each garment box had a 4 sharp edged bar sticking out. And, yes, every piece of furniture packed next to a garment box came off the truck with new, deep scratches. The packing was haphazard; lampshades placed in the bottom of boxes then filled with books - all destroyed, gardening tools packed with couch pillows, etc. Even worse then the crew's treatment of our possessions was their treatment of my wife. Their rude, arrogant, borderline abusive treatment was inexcusable. Leaders management, after repeated calls, finally responded to be present and oversee/prevent further abusive interactions. Towards the end of day two, a Leaders manager approached me for an additional $600. Evidently, Leaders' guaranteed, not to exceed cost contract is not a guarantee. Essentially, after 90% of our possessions were packed and loaded, we were faced with an extortion demand: pay an additional $600 or we will not pack/load the last 10% of our possessions! We paid; this was extortion; we had no choice. We insisted on a new crew to unload the truck, which did proceed more smoothly. Beyond the $1000+ in breakage and damage, the abusive treatment of my wife (I was absent on day 1), and the last minute $600 extortion, Leaders also failed to reassemble items they disassembled; which was part of the contract. The unloading crew was unable to locate the hardware; porch furniture, picture frames, and a china cabinet. We had a choice of movers. We choose poorly. Leaders was not the cheapest, nor are they a monopoly - learn from our experience and avoid this most unprofessional of moving companies.

I've also NEVER had movers try to charge me nearly $1000 to move a small 2-bedroom apartment! It took their inadequate movers 7 hours to complete a job that has never taken more than 3 hours (what we agreed on) to finish! Absolutely ridiculous. They kept taking breaks and purposely kept dragging the time out. One mover kept standing around just *watching* the other guy and was distracting him with conversation instead of getting off his OWN butt to do the work he was paid to do. This same guy dropped one of my storage cabinets down the steps because he was barely holding it. The Team Lead tried to warn him about that, but it was too late - ALL of my items were all over the hallway. They both swore that everything was placed back inside the cabinet and that I shouldn't worry. But nope! Once I was settled into my new place and took a look - several items were missing, including my expensive flat iron. I'm so pissed. The Lead was friendly and apologetic, but honestly didn't have the stamina to move items for an extended period of time at all. Lastly, they broke one of the legs on my bedroom chest. They also bent up the back of my portable closet. I called Bellhop (3) times DURING the move so that they could keep track of everything. And (3) more time afterwards. In the end... they failed to resolve this massive issue. They REFUSED to allow me to speak with a Manager as well. They took $100 off but still wanted to charge me $900! For a move that should have costed $400-$500 TOPS? Are you freaking serious? I have now filed a dispute with my bank over this charge. I want my money back for the extra they charged me. I shouldn't have to pay for your awful movers miserably failing to do their job properly or on time. FYI: Bellhop finds your movers last minute. They *do not* work for this company! They also do not provide them with any tools either. Like WTF? Don't waste your time with these unprofessional people. You've been warned.

TERRIBLE experience. I moved cross-country and booked loaders and unloaders at either end. The…read moreloading team was THREE HOURS late. Communication was terrible across the board, from the loading team that didn't communicate AT ALL to anyone about running late or their own efforts to make other arrangements, to the customer service that I had to call multiple times for updates. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of them, I spoke to someone different every time and they just kept putting me on hold saying they were waiting for a response from someone. I was hopeful when "Aneesa" called me and said she was working on an alternative solution to get a loading team out to me the same day, but even though she seemingly gave me a direct phone number and a number to text updates, it was impossible to get ahold of her or get any other information. She promised me an "appeasement" for the team being late but said it wasn't able to be processed until after the move was complete and wouldn't say how much they were offering for the massive inconvenience. More on this later. When the team did finally show up, they had not told me or apparently even Bellhop that they were coming. They showed up totally unprepared with no equipment whatsoever. Several items had small damages (scratches/dents) and several boxes were placed upside down in the truck. After the move was complete I reached back out to Bellhop to ask about the discount I had been offered since no one had gotten in touch with me. So far I have called three separate times and just been put on hold while someone waits for someone to respond, then never actually gives me any information. Honestly I'm at the point of contesting the charge on my credit card because this is just ridiculous. Their website sucks too, the AI chatbot is a joke, the live agent chat just doesn't work, and I am unable to submit my reviews for my loading/unloading teams through their system. On the contrary, we had a wonderful unloading team at the other end who was on time, communicative (called me two days before to confirm and called me again when they were on the way to my place), well-prepared and efficient. Next time I move I will be booking with them directly but will NEVER use Bellhop again.
