Our last move the guys were nice enough and nothing got damaged, but it wasn't anything special. This time we went with Moving Ahead Services, and they were amazing! It took them 3 1/2 hours to move all our worldly belongings from a storage unit into our new home, and that includes a half hour drive from one place to the other! For the record, it took our other movers more than 8 hours to move us into that same storage unit. The crew was fun and friendly and no one ever stopped moving. I actually told them to slow down at one point! I stood back and directed and they got everything into its new home. They all came in to thank us when they were done, and offered to move anything that we didn't like its placement. Seriously a good service. read more

I experienced the worst move ever with this company. Also, they have refused, short of a lawsuit, to resolve the issues that resulted in my rating. We moved on March 9, 2022. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. I used Moving Ahead in the past for a move and it went well overall, but after using them again today, I don't think I can recommend them. The movers did not take apart my furniture before moving it, which ended up causing damage that I noticed upon inspection after they left. My office desk is an L-shape made up of 3 pieces. One end piece was removed, which caused a strain on the middle piece that was still connected to the other end. This significantly damaged the wood around the screws. My bed frame and its attached drawers were also damaged. This could have been avoided if they had taken it apart and didn't try to carry too many things at once. They also tried to balance a storage tote containing fragile items on an office chair, which of course fell off the chair when they got outside. Thankfully, nothing was damaged, but it really shows the lack of care these movers have. One of the movers asked if they could leave everything in the garage at my new home, which was odd. I had to tell them I wanted it inside. Even then, one of them wanted to give up on moving the bed frame upstairs. They might have been feeling anxious because they parked the truck in a tow-away zone behind my home instead of in the front for some reason. I was also having them do junk removal. One of the items I asked to remove was a box a TV came in. Turns out they just left it in the lobby of my old apartment building. Maybe the truck was too full, but they should have said something. To top it off, I was *asked* for a tip at the end of it! With that said, I do want to say both movers were very nice. They just lacked the professionalism I expect when paying hundreds of dollars for moving services. I think they cut one too many corners to try to get the job done as quickly as possible. read more

These guys were quick, professional, and made the day so much easier. They even took a few items I hadn't been quoted for to save me the headache and took apart and put together my bed. The whole experience was great from start to finish. I needed a refrigerator moved from one house to another, and then for them to rearrange a basement refrigerator and move it upstairs into my kitchen. The two movers were masked at all times (at my request), were meticulously careful to not damage any wall in either house, and were incredibly easy to work with. They successfully disassembled the refrigerator so that it could make it through the doors of my 100 year old home and ensured that everything was reattached properly on each refrigerator. I really appreciate great service that ensures things move smoothly. I would absolutely use them again for any move, big or small. read more

The movers were on time and we actually got 3 movers for the price of 2. We quickly learned that this was a young team that didn't even bring a hand truck for unloading my truck. Fortunately we had one. Instead of using a hand truck for most things, they took it box by box. Yes, my stuff got unloaded, but it wasn't as efficient as other companies have been. They also didn't do the little things like put my sectional couch together. They also had issues trying to figure out how to bring large things through doors. I don't know that I'd use them again. read more

I had a great experience with a just-completed move from Cincinnati to Los Angeles, working with the Cincy/northern KY office, I believe. Everyone from MAS was professional, communicative, and responsive, including Steven (manager, person completing my estimate, and lead on packing day) and Derek (long-distance driver and lead on loading and unloading days). I sprung for packing, and it was very much worth it. Of note, one of the reasons I chose this company over others was that they offered an exact arrival/delivery date. (In my experience, for long-distance moves most companies provide an expected arrival window of 7-21 days). This move was completed in five, just as discussed ahead of time. Another appeal: they load and handle your goods themselves. Most contract out. They used local hired help for packing/loading and unloading in Cincy and LA, supporting the lead from MAS, but the whole move is handled directly by MAS. Highly recommended. read more

Definitely the worst company that you can imagine, their crew didn't take any care when loading my belongs into the truck they were literally throwing everything without any organization at all, which got most of the things damage during its travel. They damaged my walls during the pick up, had one member of their crew the entire time on his mobile phone, didn't pick a single box and saw him dozens of time after his partners just asking "How much will I get paid for this work", I was told that was his 1st day, by the way. After all this frustration and disappointment, I called their customer service and they weren't paying attention at all in everything that happen, as bad as the experience, they were just worried about collecting the payment, even mentioning that member of their crew hadn't worked at all, so they just send your home random guys that has no experience, responsibility and commitment at all, but they do want get paid as they would. Believe me, avoid this company as much as you can and safe yourself from bad experience like mine, this company is a shame. read more

Movers generally did a good job with our many heavy items, but broke one piece of furniture and did not return the broken piece to us so that we could repair the item even after I asked them to do so. Also, we requested that they wear masks at our new house because there was no way for us to stay in another room while they worked, but one of the movers never wore one (I have a condition that makes me more susceptible to infection, which they were aware of.) read more

I called on U-Pack to move some cherished items, including furniture and fragile boxed items, from Erlanger, KY to my home in Alabama. U-Pack contracted the help I desperately needed from Moving Ahead Services. The crew performed far above my expectations. Each individual was professional, friendly, courteous, careful, knowledgeable about how to pack the ReloCube, and no one stopped moving! They even helped me pack the things I hadn't had a chance to get to. And I learned a lot from them about properly preparing for moving, if I ever want to go through that again. I would have rated 5 stars but the office was a mess. Besides that, the woman working there was really nice and had my truck ready when I got there. While loading the truck we noticed the tire had went flat. We told them we were moving to Florida and needed the tire changed asap. Within an hour they had a guy out there and put a brand new tire on it. We also rented a car trailer from there, was in nice condition. There moving blankets were cheap also, only a dollar per blanket. If you are looking for a Penske truck, this is the place. read more

UPDATE: I have since reached a settlement to get a small refund for my experience with the movers. They reached out to me multiple times to make sure they understood what happened and why I was upset with the service. I appreciate their customer support and their attempts are trying to make up for the initial frustrations. Special thanks to Heather for her customer care. I hired three guys to move furniture from my apartment on a third floor to another third floor apartment a few miles away. When getting the quote, I had told them there was a spiral staircase to a loft that I needed certain furniture moved to and asked if they would be able to do it to which I was told yes. There is a trap door with pulley system to help with that move. The movers made a lot of jokes about the difficulty of moving the furniture into the apartment (lot of stairs and winding hallway) and then did not want to attempt to get furniture up to the loft despite being told prior to the move about this. It made me uncomfortable to ask them to try because of the comments about not being able to do it and the difficulty. In the end, the furniture did not get moved into the loft which was my reason for hiring the movers and I spent a lot of money on inefficient movers (4 hours of work) to not get the results I wanted. read more

We chose to use 4WeHelp because we used it 4 years ago and it was an excellent experience. We did not have any problem at all that time. However, we now consider to change the mover for our next move after this usage of the service. I gave it an OK experience only because the two men were polite and were on time. However, we had a couple of issues after they left: They told us the washer and dryer were all set up. And the washer was ready to go. Guess what? The tube that gets the water out in the washer was not connected. Fortunately I noticed the tube was lying on the ground before I started using the washer. Then in the past two weeks we found our king-size bed was not set up correctly, we had to redo the job ourselves! While we redid it, we noticed that there were a couple of damages here and there on the boxes. My leather chair got two spots of serious scratches. Then two of our wooden chairs were broken. What made me feel that I must write a review was what happened this morning. I tried to set up my iron board this morning and found out one of the stand was broken (almost folded). I do not know how many things we are going to find out broken. What made us even more nervous is that there maybe things that were broken but we failed to noticed it, which might be some safety issue when we used it as usual. read more

We just moved this weekend from a 1400 sq foot home. It was full of older, heavy furniture. The two man crew worked very hard in high heat (it was 85) the day we moved. They were polite, hardworking and a pleasure to work with. We had nothing broken, they were careful and patient. I would highly recommend this company. Thank you! read more
