If you want professional movers, use Big John Movers. We have used them three times. Shane, Chris and Deion loaded an entire 2200 sq ft home in two hours. This included a 400 lbs Peloton that had to come up stairs out of a basement. They were efficient and mindful of the furniture and the home. This was a cross country move and when we got to our destination the movers there said it was the best packing job they had ever seen. Not one thing moved in the truck and there was no damage to anything. This is all because of their expertise and caring attitude. I had used two men and a truck years ago but after researching decided to try Big John Movers as it seemed they appeared top of the line when researching on reddit in the last 6-8 months by far. Boy was that right! The team of Dre, Drew, and Ryan(Coffey was written on the receipt) were so nice and helpful. My couch gave them trouble at both places but they problem solved and got it out (which we knew was possible) and into the new place (which we all almost thought wasn't going to be possible). We just used Big John Movers this past weekend to move from our apartment to a new house. Patrick and his crew of 3 guys called me when they were on their way, they made it in time to our place, Patrick showed me the paperwork and up front pricing, and start time. Without much direction, I let Patrick and his team know what's going on the move and what's not - and boom! They were moving quickly and efficiently. It was awesome to have so much trust in their team so quickly! After the move out, they quickly made it to our new house and moved us in. My wife left a review a while back but I can reiterate that these people are very professional and efficient. Despite the rain they moved everything without getting anything wet. We were not as organized as we should have been but they were very flexible about this and ultimately made moving, which inherently sucks, smooth and pleasant. I did another cross town move from my apartment to my new house and I knew that I had to call Big John Movers. They were responsive, professional, and did a great job! When it came time to move, Shane and his two-man crew were fantastic! Shane contacted me to tell me when they were on their way and they arrived on time. We had four guys today for 10 hours, Larry was the team leader and then Chris, Randy and Zach. You would think in that long of a period of time, something might go wrong...but nothing went wrong. Would definitely recommend Big John Movers. Sarah at the office was very responsive, and their quote was among the lowest we received for our in-town move. They were upfront about additional charges (for things like higher insurance coverage and piano moving, both of which we took advantage of). Larry and his crew arrived on time (after giving us a heads-up call when they were on their way). After a quick tour of the house, the team of 4 got to work quickly and never stopped, despite the almost 100° temperatures! When we arrived at our new home, they immediately set up moving blankets to protect our floors and began moving items in. I had color-coded the boxes and corresponding rooms, and the team had no issues whatsoever following my system. They worked efficiently and communicated well when the need arose, such as when they needed to remove a door to move a piece of furniture into a room. They were also very patient when I decided a few items needed to be moved from where I'd originally had them placed in the house, and had no qualms about moving them (again) for us. Overall, we had a great experience. So far, we haven't noticed any damage- to our belongings or the homes; all arrived safe and sound (everything from vintage furniture pieces that I was very concerned about, to less-than-solidly constructed modular items that often don't make it through a move!) While I don't plan to move again any time soon, I wouldn't hesitate to call Big John Movers. read more

My husband and I had a horrible experience by other mover before so honestly I didn't expect this level of good service for Big John Movers. I booked my move via Yelp app, always could get replies from the owner immediately. The moving crews were one experienced guy and two boys. They called me 20 mins before their arrival and just after arrival. They were friendly and clean looking. They carefully brought my boxes and other stuff. Their work was fast and efficient. There was a communication error that they didn't know I had a 65" TV even I told that when I booked, but they were flexible and of course made it included. When I booked them, I got other companies' estimated cost and this company was not cheap. And also I was afraid they would add an additional cost for small things and the actual payment could be higher. But it never happened and actually the payment was cheaper than the horrible mover described on the top! I recommend this mover to my family, friends and someone reading this review. read more

We just had our hardwood floors refinished. We rented a storage pod and moved three rooms of furniture into it. On Sunday we knew we couldn't handle moving everything back in on our own. I reached out to Big John and they came out first thing Monday morning. Shane and his helper were quick, hard workers. They even arrived a little early, which was great. Nothing fazed them. I changed my mind a couple times about where things should go and they just went with it. The price was reasonable, with a 2 hour minimum. We had two one-bedroom apartments to move into a three story house. Larry and his crew showed up on time and moved one apartment into the truck in less than 30 minutes. They moved the second apartment into the truck just as fast. My roommate and I were shook at how fast and easily they just picked up heavy ass furniture and carried it like a newborn baby. Once we got to the new house they moved all the furniture and boxes quickly and even dealt with our dumbasses requesting a giant ass couch to go up on the third floor on a narrow staircase. We owe them our lives. Other moving companies in the area quoted us 3 times what Big John charged us for the day which is absolutely ridiculous. They are the most well priced moving company in the area, perhaps the whole nation. Larry and his crew were extremely polite and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They were able to move everything in about 3 hours, and we were quoted 2-4 hours, so it was perfect. If I could give them my first born child I would. We went to Target today and had to carry a heavy ass bookshelf and immediately we thought "wow we need Larry", so he is now our favorite Larry. We now live our life with a few prominent quotes "Livin like Larry" "What would Larry do" and "Oh my god I wish Larry was here", and our lives are so much better. read more

Justin, Isaiah, and Ryan are a great team. They were fast and CAREFUL! We moved out of a narrow house with lots of steep stairs. They went above and beyond. Our furniture was handled with care, and there were no scuffs on the walls. They packed the truck well and made sure everything was protected/wrapped up. Wow! These guys are great! I've used a certain competitor in the past with a couple of guys and a vehicle and the service was sub-par. The four guys the comprised Kristian's crew were amazing and funny! They were genuinely having fun. There was obvious care put into handling all of our stuff and nothing was damaged at all. Huge thumbs up for Larry and Dustin! We were incredibly disorganized and they were so patient with us - and still quick and efficient. We didn't have a whole lot to move, but were moving between two historic urban buildings that presented some challenges that I was worried about - nothing was a problem for them! Hired them for my move this spring, and they were great. I didn't have to remove the clothes out of the dressers, which saved me a lot of packing time. Economical, and the only thing that was broken in our move was a box that I had my dad pack and move to his personal truck for "safe keeping". So, there's that, lol . Website says 'serving the tristate area', but I was informed by an unprofessional, one sentence email that 'I am out of area.' I live in Erlanger. That is in the greater Cincinnati area. This is very misleading and the emails were sketchy. I'm disappointed because this place has good reviews. I guess it doesn't hold up for everyone. read more

I hired these movers to help unload our container and my container did not come at the scheduled time but the movers were still able to come the same day as scheduled. I would rate them 5 stars except during the move they told me they do not assemble furniture due to liability. I was under the impression that they did because when I called to make the appointment and confirm the appointment I mentioned that I had furniture that needed to be assembled and not one word about assembly. When they finished they ended up assembling the few pieces we had. The -1 Star is when they tried their best to assemble our bed frame and left some screws sticking out. I applaud and appreciate their hard work but when paying a little more compared to other moving companies I expected more. read more

I hired Big John movers for a relatively small move, but to a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator. I knew it wouldn't be easy hauling all my stuff up the stairs, so I figured I'd leave it to the professionals. They were the most competitive quote which is why I went with them. They don't try to nickel and dime you for every little thing like some other companies, it's a flat rate per hour. They arrived on time and were fast and efficient. The only negative thing was when we had an issue getting my couch up the stairs due to the narrow stairwells, the movers was rude to us when trying to come up with a solution to get it up there. I understand there are liability issues but we were trying to see what we could do to get it in, and he just wasn't having it and said "I'm the one with the experience, do it yourself if you don't believe me".... well guess what, when he left, we did do it ourselves. We got the couch in without any damage. So that was a bummer. It just seemed to me like he didn't want to mess with it. If you have an uncomplicated move, then I would recommend Big John. Otherwise, you may want to look into someone who can specifically cater to your moving needs. read more

They also were accommodating when I had to make a last minute change to the moving date because of upcoming weather conditions.
