My friends and I came from Miami to celebrate my best friends bachelorette party. We were disappointed that the food menu was so small and that they were out of the only things that could be made vegan (two of my friends are vegan so they could only have chips + salsa + guacamole. At first, the individual drinks for our party came out fast ! We enjoyed the froze and the frozen margarita - super refreshing ! The waitresses kept the water coming as it was almost 100°! After we decided that we wanted to "turn up" more, bottle service was VERY SLOW! I ordered a bottle of Don Julio 1942 & it took forever for the waitresses to come back and let us know that they were out of it. She explained that the liquor was very far downstairs in the hotel from the rooftop (but it still shouldn't have taken so long!) They were also out of Clasè Azul. I was disappointed as they tried to offer us Avion ??? We were about to cancel the bottle all together as we collectively drink only top shelf tequila but we finally decided on a bottle of Casamigos Reposado (which we received 47 MINUTES LATER . There was no bottle presentation besides an ice bucket and juices, no wands, sparklers or marquee sign celebrating the bachelorette , which was disappointing. As a fellow restaurant manager and hospitality guru, this rooftop needs to do better with inventory, having bottles readily available , faster service/ better communication and perhaps offer a few more things for their pool bites menu. Our servers switched a few times during our duration and it took a while for our first waitress to grab our dirty plates and utensils/ bring us more. Our servers towards the end were twins ! They were really sweet and accommodating. It wasn't their fault that they didn't have much in stock that we wanted but they were very friendly and kind ! The stars are mainly for their service!! To me, the pool had great pricing! After viewing the receipt, it is proper to disclose what the actual percentage of the service charge was on the receipt, instead of it just reading "service charge"! After doing the math myself , it was indeed 20% added, which is standard. Nonetheless, being in the service industry I was aware that the entire tip doesn't go to just our servers so we made sure to leave an extra $180 on top of our actual bill. Would we return here?.... Not sure but we made the best of our pool day on our vacation in Austin :) read more

Open to public Fri-Sat 8pm-close and Sun-Thu all day! All you have to do to access the pool is to ask the front desk for the key. I came here with some friends around 1 on a Sunday, and it was packed. Great atmosphere with chill music! Perfect place to tan and get a nice view of downtown Austin. Haven't tried the drinks/food yet, but I definitely will try them out during my next visit. read more

Just from the attitude and degrading way the idiotic girl who answered the phone , I would never put time to check out this place "bar". What kind of treatment would I expect in person , when they have a tacky Paris Hilton answering a phone call and saying " yes is a pool and a bar , anything else ???" My friends and I went to Azul rooftop as visitors and our experience was terrible. I really don't understand how it has four stars. The view was nice!! But that is all we got. As I write the review, I feel sick to my stomach. My friend and I ordered the Deep Lemonade and it literally tasted like a jolly rancher with two cups of sugar. It was disgusting, the WORST $14 I've spent on a drink. After we finished our drinks and the waitress asked us if we liked it, she admitted that the drink makes her sick. Wow, ok thanks for the tip, NOT. That was one of the two times that we saw her the full 2 hours that we were there. And it was not packed! To eat, we ordered the chicken tenders ($11) and they were gross. They tasted like chicken tenders from a school cafeteria. I highly recommend this place if you feel like wasting your money and being treated to bad service. I will admit that i felt discriminated as well. read more

We stayed at the Westin and went up for pre dinner drinks and rooftop views. It was a bit overpriced but amazing. The frose was delish and the hubby got Moscow mules which were delish as well. The pool was very tiny compared to the hotel size. But the views and drinks were very good. We definitely will be back. read more

Our first day in Austin was on a VERY hot Thursday. We had big plans of checking out the Barton Springs Pool, only to find out that it's closed on Thursdays for cleaning (noooooo!). Yelp to the rescue, though! We found the Azul pool on here and decided to check it out. We thought it being free and open to the public was too good to be true, but we were pleasantly surprised that when we arrived at the front desk, they gave us a key to the 20th floor with no hesitation. The pool area is cool, with nice views of the city and different seating arrangements (some couches, some tables and chairs, etc). We enjoyed a few fruity drinks from the bar while cooling off in the pool and listening to the chill music. The only downsides are that the drinks are pretty pricey and the pool is pretty small, but we really had a good time so I can't complain too much about that! Definitely worth a visit on a hot day. read more

One of the best views for a drink downtown, if not the best. The pool is still open at night and you can even dance while the DJ spins some tunes, although no one ever does, not sure why, but the potential exists (maybe Texans can only 2-step on a race-track dance floor?). The drawback to this place, however, is the service. There were only two servers working and they prob needed at least two more, so there were extended gaps between visits to our table. Additionally we ordered a snack from their menu and it took a lot longer than it should have. Lastly, if you like overly tart drinks, then definitely get something from their menu, otherwise I'd recommend sticking to a classic like an old fashioned or manhattan. We couldn't drink the blood orange and ancho marg and the bubbly bees knees was palatable, but not by much. All that being said, this is a great place to toast with friends and take in the Austin skyline. Pretty cool! read more

Fun atmosphere and good dj but it gets I credibly crowded. It is almost impossible to find a seat which isn't a problem if you're going to Judy hang in the pool the whole time anyway The one star is mainly because of the hotel staff. Nasty at the front desk when I asked where to go and how much. She gave me a price that was higher than their voicemail said. When I asked why she told me "prices are subject to change" (ie we can charge whatever we want even if our voicemail says different). Got to the check in stand and noted the sign there said the price was different than what the front desk told me and still also different from what the voicemail said. again asked why and I was basically called a liar. Also pretty much unfriendly about not being able to bring outside food or drink. Made my friends down their water because we thought we'd have to pay for water at the pool but there was a complimentary water stand at the pool. Nice! So why the check in guy downstairs couldn't have just said "sorry ma'am but I'll have to ask you to get rid of your water. Don't worry though you can refill it upstairs" is beyond me. Won't ever return to this pool or the restaurant which we frequent, because of the service at the hotel today. Poor poor showing by Starwood hotels. read more

This pool looks great in photos. I recommend if you are all about Instagram and photos to come take a few. However if you are coming to layout and enjoy the pool, go somewhere else. The pool opens at 10. Arrived at 10:10 and there were no beach chairs available. Additionally there is no where to place your items if you don't have a chair (locker). There are cabanas for several hundred dollars that are not used due to the cost (300+) Recommend for a photo op but nothing more. read more

I'd been eyeing Azul for awhile now and I'm glad I finally tried it out. I'll probably be back when it gets warmer, because it's pretty nice. That being said, the drinks are REALLY hit or miss. The frosé lives up to the hype though and is consistently great and refreshing. The other drinks are eh. Also, they are pretty conservative with their pours, and the drinks are rather expensive, so I would recommend coming here on a chill night when you don't mind spending too much money. After 2 drinks, I was still stone cold sober. Prices are around $12-15 per cocktail, and $7/beer so it wasn't cool that I paid for so little alcohol and hit or miss drinks. Other than that, it's a cute little getaway spot and has a magnificent view of the city. read more

My wife found this pool and we were over the top excited to hear that it was free to get into. Back home in Philadelphia, a pool like this would cost someone not staying at the hotel at least 20 dollars. We went on a Thursday afternoon and made sure that we were there right at 2pm for two chairs right by the pool. Don't expect to get a spot anywhere near the pool if you show up after 3pm on a nice sunny day. Great group of people staffing the bar and walking around taking orders. The view was breath taking as you are downtown and can see the river and many other areas of the city. Music was on point, as it was new age house music, and some popular music thrown in as well. Beer was 6 dollars and cocktail were about 11 dollars. Amazing experience all around. read more

Amazing view!!! The bartenders were so helpful in helping my newly 21 friends pick drinks. They drinks were yummy and are definitely worth the price. The pool was a bit cloudy when we arrived, but people had been in and out of it all day. We didn't arrive until 7:15pm ish. The rest of the areas were extremely clean. We were not staying at this hotel, but wish we had. The front desk was very accommodating in escorting is to the pool from the lobby to the elevator. The DJ didn't take request it play the best jams, but i don't think he was very permanent to the venue, so you could encounter a different then we did. They had clean towels for every guest provided. I definitely recommend this hangout and will be returning for the view and tasty azul piña and blood orange margarita read more

Was told many times by a friend that we needed to check this place out. Being in Austin there's just so many choices but eventually made my way over one day. All I can say is wow! Breathtaking views, great bartenders that make you feel like your at a neighborhood bar rather then an upscale pool lounge. Big shout out to their number 1 bar tender Jeka and her teammates, Dre, Erika, and Cierra. They also constantly have events throughout the year that go with the "keep Austin Weird" motto. Def recommend for a cool night out, pregame or post dinner spot. We recently went back with a bachelor party and the crew had a blast and servers were super attentive. Reserved a cabana with a handful of friends. After we sat down it took 10 minutes for someone to take our order and another 10 minutes to get our drinks. After that, the service was great but just slightly annoying upon arrival. Place was packed and the view is pretty nice. The DJ was pretty bad in my opinion, playing old classic songs rather than new age stuff. Younger crowd was there and he wasn't up to par. Really overpriced for what it is. I basically got a $12 slushee, and the expensive popcorn they sell is literally made in a microwave bag and then they add a few dashes of seasoning... I asked what the guest WiFi was and the bartender said there is no WiFi on the roof and that I could go to the gym if I "absolutely need to check something"... which is false because I could see a strong connection available for the Azul guest WiFi, just needed the passcode. read more
