Great rooftop pool and bar with beautiful city views! My friends and I chose this hotel for our stay because of their rooftop pool. We came here for an entire day of relaxation and drinks. Drinks (Frosé, frozen rosé ALL day!) and snacks were excellent. We had nice comfortable lounge chairs with cushions right by the pool. Come early for them. They are first come, first serve! They also have cabanas and beds for rent but they were all booked for that day and nothing was available for us. The pool became extremely packed by mid afternoon and waitress service was a bit slow. It was not comfortable to actually go into the pool unless you enjoy being skin and sweat touching distance with strangers. The music is great with a nice flow of current hits, dance and hip hip. The scene is very mixed with many age groups (bachelor & bachelorette parties, young & older couples, out of towners and locals). We enjoyed our drinks all day long with the gorgeous views of the city. read more

Super cute, small, overpriced but amazing views. My friend picked this place and I'm glad she did. The views on the clear night I was there are nonparallel to much else. Be warned, it's a small space so not sure how likely you are to get a seat on a busy night. Being that I went on Monday, seats were plenty. They also have a pool where you can sit around or lounge chairs in the pool. Drinks were Bay Area priced and honestly, you're paying to go there. The didn't skim on the alcohol either. Stop by if you're around. Grab a drink and a super cute pix. read more

Do NOT come here. We had a terrible experience with the bartender, Brittany. When my friend and I came to the pool at 12:05 PM on a Monday, Brittany was setting up the bar. We said hello and you could tell immediately she was already annoyed that we were there. We asked what time the bar would be opened and she stated they don't open until 1 o'clock. (This is an hour after the time the front desk told us it opened) we inquired about reserving a cabana and what the cost would be, and she rolled her eyes and told us she doesn't know. Brittany then proceeded to yell at my friend and I that she just got there and she was unable to answer any more questions until the bar was set up! She was extremely rude and unwelcoming. My friend and I only stayed at the Westin Austin because of the rooftop pool. We left immediately and had a wonderful drink downstairs with the bartender Matt. We then decided we would not be giving Brittany any of our business and walked across the street to the Thompson hotel, where we were able to use their pool for free. Do not book this hotel if you're looking for a good customer service experience. Also, we found out later, Brittany has quit this job at the Westin Austin five times and always comes back. Maybe the Westin should try hiring employees that aren't disgruntled? read more

I was able to check out Yule at Azul before all of the winter festivities ended and it was nothing short of amazing. We were seated in a very beautifully decorated snowglobe and the customer service was excellent. They offered to turn on the lights for us to get better pictures. They also let us know they could turn on the heaters at our request and the blankets in the snowball were available for use and not just decorations lol. I also love that there was no extra price to reserve the snow globes. Cabanas we're also available for reservations but I'm not sure if they were an additional price or on a 1st come 1st serve reservation basis. The hot buttered rum was delicious along with the hot toddy. I'd never been to a rooftop bar that was decorated for a festive occasion so I'm really glad I got to experience this. If they do this again in 2023, I'll definitely return. read more

Amazing views! If you're looking for a cool place to have drinks while overlooking the city skyline.....this is the place to be. I've attached a couple photos so you can see what I'm talking about. It was a little chilly out the night we were there, so you may want to come when it's a little warmer out. There's a pool on the rooftop which must be heated.... someone was swimming even when it was cold out. The drinks are ok. There was a drink list which was pretty small, and I don't think they get crazy with the drinks....seems like they only made what was on the list. So, come for a quick drink before going out or to relax after being out. read more

Apparently the tallest rooftop bar in dt Austin! The pool is only at its deepest 3.5 feet. It is a pretty small pool, good for just lounging out of the heat. The area is also not huge but can fit some large parties. They have a few cabanas which are nice. The bar has some good drink options including a frose. My Bee's knees was pretty strong! It gets windy when you are up so high! read more

Really nice rooftop bar with an INCREDIBLE view! Great for pics. It's located on the top of the Westin hotel. When you walk in, you can go to the front desk and they will give you key to access the elevator to the top floor. Great for the college student pretending to be fancy for a night instead of going directly to dirty Sixth. It was fairly cold when we went, but luckily they had some stylish-looking heaters. It was easy to get warm fast! The waiters were excellent at accommodating our large party of about 30. They got all our orders right and in a timely manner; very impressive! The drinks were a bit expensive running around $12-$15 for a cocktail and $10 per shot. But, this was expected. They have comfortable couches to lounge on and also provided blankets for us considering the temperature. I'll be returning again on a warmer night and when I'm not on a college budget. read more

On the 20th floor at The Westin, and that's really all I need to say. Chill pool, comfortable chairs and several couches to lounge on. A bar next to the pool to keep you cool and on a good level to enjoy yourself with friends. Awesome view that overlooks a part of downtown Austin. It is open to the public so come on by to take a dip in the pool and get a good tan. You would enter through the hotel lobby, by first asking the receptionist for a key. You would take the elevator all the way to the 20th floor and it'll be right there when you get out of the elevator. Also next to the pool is a 24hr gym to get a quick pump before showing off your summer bod ;) read more

Came to Austin on a last minute whim and we saw this rooftop bar across from our Airbnb. Walked into the hotel and asked if we could come here. Front desk was so nice, gave us a key to the roof. Got here and the sweetest waitress named Sabrina greeted us, got us a seat in a cabana with a fire pit overlooking the city. Amazing views!! And the drinks were amazing! Highly recommend the green tea shots! This place is a MUST for viewing the city and a great place to start the night! read more

The scenery was beautiful but the staff ruined our first experience at this location. There was a lack of communication between the two bartenders who served us and the women bartender was extremely rude. She attempted to help us close out our tabs and then changed her mind and made us close out with the male bartender. Which was fine, but her attitude going about it was terrible. We had many people with us for a special celebration but this first experience will be our last and we will not recommend to others. The servers need an attitude adjustment if they are going to continue to serve large parties. read more

We were guests at the hotel over Mother's Day Weekend. After a few days of rain this was a sunny day in Austin and lots of people were heading to the pool, Azul. There weren't any seats at the rooftop pool except for the completely empty cabanas - but they wanted $500 a piece for them! This isn't an Oceanside Resort - where does Azul get off trying to charge hotel guests $500 to use a cabana at 12 Noon on a Sunday when there isn't alternative pool seating? We eventually found two seats when we pressed other people there that were holding chairs for no-shows, but the cabanas stayed empty all day. For the record, we weren't looking for a "free cabana", we just wanted a couple of chairs - and we were paying hotel guests. Azul shouldn't be accepting local walk-ins to their pool as a side business if they can't accommodate paying hotel guests. Aside from their terrible set-up, we found the Azul staff to be lazy and unmotivated to supply good hospitality service. There were 4 or 5 employees behind the bar talking, laughing, and looking at their phones while customers had to walk to the bar to gets drinks and food all day. We were there for about 4 hours and not once did the staff ever come by to see if we needed more drinks or if our food was alright. (Although they were friendly). read more

Azul is located in the Westin. If you're not a guest staying at the hotel, you'll need a key card from the front desk to get to the top. The rooftop has great views of the city. There are transparent panels that surround the deck. Fire pits at the cabanas kept us warm. We came in around 7pm on a Thursday and there were very few people. Maybe because it's winter. It seems to be ideal place to come for date night and cuddle up in the cabanas while enjoying the views. Drinks are expensive, but I guess I'm paying for the view. read more

The website says that the pool is open to the public weekdays 11am-9pm. We arrived today at 2pm and the employees forced us to pay a $400 minimum or leave, despite the clearly stated public hours on the website. Huge rip off, not worth your time. Plenty of other incredible rooftop pools in Austin that won't rip you off. read more

The two female hostesses/bartenders were the best part! They were very attentive, made great drinks (even made a great Virgin Mojito for my friend), and always made us laugh with their witty humor. Their festive spirit made the experience great. Next time we come to Austin, we are going to stay at the hotel again and say hi to our new friends! read more

Very nice place! Best view is the sunset. 5 stars for the atmosphere. 1 star for the service. I don't understand. 1. We asked for napkins, mind you our hands were a bit dirty from the Tortilla chips that we used to dip in the Tex mex bento. She just stood there and asked one of us for a card when we literally just said our hands were dirty. Really? I was not going to dig inside my purse for my card when I just asked you for napkins. 20 minutes went by, she was around re arranging chairs. I assumed she forgot about the napkins. No customers. Anyways, I had to go up to the bar and asked the bartender for some napkins. He gave us exactly 3 for 3 people. Anyways, our hands were oily and dirty, the last thing I wanted was to wipe my hands on your seats. She then brought the napkins when my friend had to go up the second time asking for extra napkins, which we also got 2 extras. Enough about napkins. 2. When we went up to the bar and ask for my friends card that the waitress was holding, she just went ahead and used that card to close out. Like really ? Didn't wanted to ask if we were splitting the bill? Or maybe someone else was going to pay? You're just gonna assume the card you're holding is the card that we're gonna use to pay? Date we were there , 10/25/2018 , around sunset. Maybe because we weren't white. She's probably younger than us, but we just look younger than her. Smh. Probably come again for the view but not for the service. read more

For this rooftop bar being one of the top 5 in Austin, my husband and I were kind of disappointed. The bar was very small, not really how it was pictured. There was a not a lot of seating, and the seating that there was was literally in the sun. We prefer rooftop bars with bar seating out of the sun and just enjoying each other's company and the views. The drinks were good, but over priced. Our favorite was the Frose, super refreshing in the Texas heat. As far as the price, it was kind of given since it's above a Westin Hotel, which wasn't a big deal but they were a little expensive. The views at night are amazing and so romantic! The small fire pits are an added feature. We enjoyed our time here, just wish the bar was a little bigger, and the staff was a little kinder. The lady checking ID's could have been more kind and not so rude. I don't know if it's how we were dressed, but we weren't treated as hotel guests. read more

Open table (during COVID) didn't have a reservation open for 3 weeks. When we went there, we were told it was first come w/hotel guests prioritized, (mostly 20 & - 30 yrs. old). The only reservation needed are for an area with some lounge furniture for $250! It's a pool with a few tables and some patio furniture. The red wine was hot; not warm, but hot. They ran out of white wine. Brittany, the bar tender was excellent making up for the drinks and reservation issues. It's an OK place, but definitely not the impression given on their web site (a classy high level hotel venue.) read more

Went for a drink at 'Upstairs at Caroline' before coming here to Azul... and my expectations were backwards... Azul was more chill than I was expecting, and I was pleasantly surprised. Smaller than I thought it would be, and nicer, the Westin (at which Azul is located) was pretty swanky to my surprise - don't know why I thought it was a budget hotel hah! We had a couple of frozen drinks and they were tasty for sure. Found a cabana to relax in and had the firepit on as well as it was a little chilly, however I think it ran out of gas :/ nbd though. Will definitely come back for drinks...the music was good too, some old school house, new school stuff too... read more

VIEWS, views, VIEWS JULIA, was amazing, the ambience is amazing the views are awesome the drinks are FAB fab fab Cabanas even as a hotel guest is a 200$ minimum which I think is a bit Bazar considering we are already staying here.... owell. If it's a slow day maybe you can talk them into it.... the views are awesome and on the weekend it's the place to be, the bar staff is great except for one rude unhappy girl, that ruins the 5 start review... 4 other guests had a problem with her.... I'll post her name when I get it... Great food, good drinks, the frose is AMAZING add a cherry, and the cucumber drink....when the cucumbers are in stock are life changing ! Come bring your friends and your service puppy and make sure your phone is charged! It's in my top 5 fave places to go, for extra convenience of stumbling back to comfort splurge on a room the prices are great and the hotel staff is superb! read more

Brittney was the BESTT bartender ever/half of the reason I'd go back to stay at the Westin. The Lavender Haze is my new favorite drink, thanks to her. Definitely won't be the last time we go to Azul. The view is extremely beautiful, and the pool is maintained at a comfortable temperature depending on the weather. 10/10 experience. read more

This roof top bar is open to public. Very nice view & nice staff. It was perfect not too empty but not so crowded. I went there on Saturday night and DJ played music all night. Giving this place a four star basically cute ambiance, lots of chairs, decent drink and DJ. Check out their website and they have special events like salsa night. read more

Bartender was hot. AS FUCK. it was my birthday celebration so April 14th and I couldn't have imagined it better than it was. The DJ sucked and it didn't eve matter because the drinks were tasty (albeit a little expensive) but probably the best Frose/ wine slushie/ grey goose beverage I have ever tasted. The lounges were awesome, and they have some fireplace tables that were not lit but could have been LIT. lol. Felt like a special place to be and felt like we were in a hidden gem of Austin read more

Remember this is a pool bar that is open to the public. Don't expect great cocktails but do expect a nice view and very basic drinks. All their frozen cocktails are just slurpees like in a machine so for $12 it was quite disappointing. We asked for some non alcoholic "mocktail" options and they were like "pineapple juice?"... Again, go for a nice view. read more

I stayed in the Westin and had the opportunity to visit the rooftop pool and bar. The vibes were amazing with the pool, music and people. The bartenders and employees were very nice and attentive. The furniture was very clean and new. The pool was very refreshing and the view was amazing. Highly recommend staying in the Westin just for this rooftop pool and bar. read more

This is a fun weekend thing to do to feel super bougie, even when you are not super bougie. You do not need to have thousands of instagram followers to drink frose at this rooftop pool. Just head into The Westin, go to the front desk and they will instruct you on how to get up to the 20th floor to enjoy the pool and breathtaking views. There are cabanas for rental, but they are extremely expensive and do not seem worth the price to me. You are better off snagging some chairs poolside (or even in the pool!) Yes, there are a few lounge chairs wading in the pool. Luxury! The drinks are a bit pricey as one could expect from a nice hotel rooftop pool, but it is all about the experience! Get that frose or something fancy to drink out of a watermelon and enjoy your day! Don't forget to post a few pics to instagram to fool your few followers into thinking you bougie! read more

This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.

He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
