Beautiful spot! Highest rooftop bar in Austin - far from the highest building but that kind of makes it even cooler from a view standpoint. Drinks - good! Desserts - ok! Our two non- drinkers got desserts and they were adorable and looked so nice and also tasted very good. However they probably were premade and kept in a fridge so the texture was a challenge - hard to cut into the brownie sundae cup. Would love to come back though - relaxing and fun! read more

The bar is on the 20th floor of the Westin Downtown. It's a small rooftop spot with a pool--feels more like a hotel bar than a public one. The floor can be wet, and the drinks were a letdown: mostly ice, overpriced, and gone in a couple of sips. The view is great, though. There are a few outdoor seats where you can relax and enjoy the city. We didn't try the food since it was raining and the seating was covered so we just stood with our drinks and enjoyed the view. Honestly, I have mixed feelings. The view is nice, but I'm not sure it's worth coming back just to pay for that. If I do return, I'm definitely sticking to beer. Also, don't be shy about asking drink prices if you're ordering something that is not in the menu -- 30ml of Casamigos was $26. Imagine ordering a double! And don't forget-- you'll need key access or a pass to use the elevator. read more

Our large group went to Azul Rooftop for drinks after having dinner downstairs at Stella San Jac. We did not have reservations, but we managed to walk in and get a cabana because some of the people in our group were staying at the hotel. I don't know if the bar has an age restriction at night, but when we were there (around 10 pm on a Saturday night), there were children swimming in the pool with their parents. It sort of killed the vibe for me. The views of the skyline helped at least. Our server Britney was very nice and attentive. I ordered a drink called the Lavender Haze which I enjoyed. When last call came, Britney informed us that we could take our drinks back to the room or the hotel lobby. Azul was nice, but I wouldn't pay for a pool pass to visit. read more

I came to Azul just before Christmas for the holiday drinks. I had never been before, but can confirm it's super cute! I love the set up of the seating areas around the pool; it reminds me of a higher-up version of other rooftop bar/restaurants in Austin (e.g. Edge at the Marriott, or La Piscina at Austin Proper). They had a little holiday photo shoot area with a swing where you can take pics - was very cute. And drinks were lovely! I had the dirty Rudolph which was sweet and rich (proper holiday drink!) but relatively strong, and my friend had one of the zero proof cocktails (the merry mint cooler - like a mojito). The servers were very nice, not the most attentive (forgot part of my friend's order but my friend decided it was fine after all and they didn't charge her anyway) - that's the only reason I took off one star, but again, super super friendly! And they came and turned on the overhead heater after we had been sitting out for an hour or so and the sun went down. Was looking for a cool place to find a drink and a bite and we landed on this bar/lounge. So glad we did. The views were great! The hostess and our bartendar were great too. Everyone was super nice and friendly. They have an area with couches for folks who had rsvp's but thy also had a bar with 3 seats and then couches by the pool that were open seating. We sat at the bar since there were three of us and had a few cocktails, fries and the crab hushpuppies. The crab hush puppies had nice pieces of lump crab and the fries were crispy and there were a ton do them. T gave us suggestions for other places and that really helped us plan what to do next. I love visiting here in the summer, but during the winter, it feels even more magical. Each cabana is uniquely decorated by different liquor representatives, making them all distinct. Our favorite was Kahlúa's--the lights, sparkle, and Christmas spirit were enchanting. The drinks were spot on, and the hot toddy was perfect for the chilly weather. Our server went above and beyond, even bringing us a blanket as we huddled together--such a thoughtful touch! They're also part of the Passport Event, one of six rooftop bars where you can collect a stamp for purchasing a signature cocktail. Once you visit all six, you can redeem them for a $50 gift card. Sunday fundays are real at the Westin rooftop pool. DJ milo was amazing, we really enjoyed the music. I got to relax, and drink at the bar. They have small bar snacks on the menu to munch on while you enjoy the view. Great spot, must visit if you're in Austin. I believe it's open to the public on some days/times, so you don't have to stay at the hotel to enjoy this amazing hidden gem. Highly recommend, kid friendly. read more

Stopped here on a bar tour and was impressed with the roof top atmosphere and great drinks! You have to be staying at the hotel to access this bar. Our group was an exception as we were on a bar tour. Nonetheless, at night, the view up here is amazing. You can see for miles! It's a really cool way to see a lot of the city. There's an outdoor pool up here as well. I got an old fashioned to try while we were here. It was really strong, like many in Austin, but had a great taste too! Wonderful views! I heard it's the highest rooftop in Austin. The bartender was fantastic (in Azul ball cap). He remembered my drink and made it perfectly. The highlight here is the view of the city at night. It's a nice hotel pool bar with beers and some cute cocktails if you're willing to pay for them. The cocktails are little sweet but not bad. When it's not too windy they have torches along the edge give a nice cozy ambiance. Not much seating. One thing I wish Austin could have more of are rooftop bars. It's just so much fun being high up in the sky, hanging with friends, and sipping on some fun drinks. The most recent one I went to was here and I rented a cabana which I found to be a great idea because it provides for an extra level of comfort especially when the drinks kick in. I tried two different cocktails: their Mangojito and their Frozen Rosé. Both are great, but my favorite was definitely the frozen rosé because it's pretty sweet and almost felt like drinking juice! (Which I personally enjoy) All in all, this is a nice spot to visit to have a good time and enjoy the great vibes that the bar has to offer. Add them to your list for your next night out! They're located right next to 6th Street, so they make for a great pre-game spot too! I give em a 4.25/5! read more

Located at 20th floor of the Westin Hotel, the view from here is very nice. Austin is known for great place for bar hopping and be sure to add this rooftop bar to your list. They are open to public and I heard about a cover charge but I wasn't charged when I went. Perhaps I went early? They had a staff there to check your ID and he gave me a wristband. This was the highlight of our recent trip to Austin. Though it must have been 40-degrees that night on the rooftop, the breathtaking view more than made up for it. Gorgeous. Thankfully the cabanas had individual firepits, and blankets were readily available. And kudos to our waitstaff who arranged it so we could order food (after the cut-off time) to be brought up from the hotel restaurant. A very memorable night. read more

Was able to secure an igloo for the holiday season and was so glad we did! There was a $40 purchase minimum per person which was fair. You get about 1.5/2 hours depending upon demand and reservation slots or size of the party in the igloo. We tried several festive drinks off the menu and they also provided two samples of the margarita and frozen hot chocolate. The weather was very breezy that evening and we were happy to have the igloo. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and knew the drinks well. You can hear the music being played even from inside the closed igloo. The view from the igloo is slightly blurry but the lights along the city and the railing make it feel cozy and inviting. It was one of my favorite holiday experiences we tried in Austin and highly recommend it! read more

I was able to check out Yule at Azul before all of the winter festivities ended and it was nothing short of amazing. We were seated in a very beautifully decorated snowglobe and the customer service was excellent. They offered to turn on the lights for us to get better pictures. They also let us know they could turn on the heaters at our request and the blankets in the snowball were available for use and not just decorations lol. I also love that there was no extra price to reserve the snow globes. Cabanas we're also available for reservations but I'm not sure if they were an additional price or on a 1st come 1st serve reservation basis. The hot buttered rum was delicious along with the hot toddy. I'd never been to a rooftop bar that was decorated for a festive occasion so I'm really glad I got to experience this. If they do this again in 2023, I'll definitely return. read more

Smaller than expected but the pool was still nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. We bought a cabana which had a $350 minimum and gratuity was automatically added to the bill, so we expected to have a dedicated server. Though the service wasn't terrible, it wasn't great either. Several times we had to make our way up to the bar to order because the waitress was MIA. We also had to reorder things that were forgotten more than once. Food and drinks were good though!
