The food is very good, however, unfortunately We are convinced that they discriminated against us (white folks). We waited an extraordinarily long time for our food, at least 40 minutes and many others (Hispanic folks) were being served right away, before us. Finally the food came and the waitress was cold and barely looked at us. No apology for the obvious long wait. My husband ordered cheese on his tacos and they put maybe a 1/2 tsp of cheese per taco. I brought the plate up to the waitress who stood in front of the cook area gathering other plates. I asked if we could get a little more cheese as we paid extra for it. She said something in Spanish to the cooks and then left to deliver more plates. I stood there waiting and the cook never looked up. He could have just gave me the cheese but wasn't until the waitress came back and I asked him in front of her for more queso por favor , that she said, I know. I already asked him. And then she told him again and we finally got the cheese. Oy! Very unwelcoming. Tonight we would like Mexican food but unfortunately, until they change their ways, there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Temecula to Choose from. read more

Loved this place..thanks to Yelp for the helpful reviews. I ordered a shrimp burrito...which was served with a very flavorful mushroom filling. My friend ordered the two taco place(Chicken and Beef)...which included rice and beans. They also give you a heaping plate of chips...with a salsa bar full of many tasty options. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very relaxed. My only hangup is that we do not live in the area...so I guess I will need to put this on the list for trips to wine country. read more

Out at the outer end of hwy 79 south the last shopping center at the cross street of Butterfield stage rd., is a hidden gem among Mexican taco shops here in Temecula. Their uniqueness is that they use chopped up Cactus in most of their dishes. The food is fresh and cooked to order so you know it is going to be good. They do have a nice dining area with both tables and eating bars around the dining area. Their "Aztek breakfast burrito" is one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever tasted...Eggs, tomatoes, onions cilantro and Cactus thrown in a flour tortilla. My friend had the Quesoburrito with chicken and said it was delicious. The service was great and our food was delivered to us at our table. If you are heading out Hwy 79 and need a bite to eat before the long windy drive out, Aztek tacos is sure to fill you up. read more

This is around the 10th time I've eaten here and I must say it's the best gourmet Mexican style fast food restaurant in all of Temecula. I love the way they keep the authentic Mexican classics alive but also incorporate modern dishes as well. There the only restaurant in Temecula that I know of that ha the al pastor spindle thingy. The al pastor that comes off that is simply outstanding. Also ordered the Aztec breakfast burrito with carne asada...it was out of this world!! Terrible employees waited 20 minutes in line just to be informed we had to wear shoes to get service even though my shoes had broke. worker looked me up and down felt super attacked and did not come up with a better solution to serve us. I am obsessed with Aztek. I've lived here for almost 15 years now and I can't believe I had only eaten here a few times. I found out they had pozole (impossible to find good pozole in this town) and it's been life changing haha. The only bad part is it's only available on the weekends and depending on how late you try to get it, they may sell out. Everything I've had here is amazing though. The tacos (good al pastor is also tough to find..) and burritos. Their fries are good, chips & salsas, horchata, allll so good. I didn't care for the quesataco but I could see how people like it. I've been to this place a few times and obviously it's a great place to go eat but today's experience wasn't a good one but neither a bad one. As soon as I arrived with my group it wasn't busy which was nice because we ordered our food right away and went and sat down. Who doesn't like to get their food as fast as possible? I ask that because our food came out quicker then expected. I ordered a tortilla soup and a California burrito. I was super excited because I was quite hungry and I had been craving Aztec tacos. I was pretty disappointed at the fact that the food was lukewarm, both the soup and the burrito were lukewarm. What does that tell me? That tells me that those burritos we ordered weren't freshly made and that is just disappointing. They were good, but they weren't great which is what I experienced the few times I came here before. Wow this was thee best carne asada taco I have ever had. And I do consider myself a connoisseur. The meat was ultra tender, no gristle whatsoever. You cut into the burrito and it is piping hot. I shoulda taken a picture. I ate half and am bringing the other half home. It's pretty big. The chops are warm with just enough greasiness for the salt to stick. Super yummy salsas at the salsa bar. I've only tried the quesa cali burrito w/chicken here. Its basically a California burrito wrapped in crispy cheese then a tortilla. That burrito is one of my favorite burritos of all time now! Its not that big but it definitely makes up for it in taste. If you're eating to enjoy a tasty burrito this is the one for you. But if you want to over eat and destroy your body, then maybe order some tacos in the side. Their salsa bar looks fresh and l like the options.
