So this was the first restaurant I've tried since moving here and I got a rude awaking on taste. Truly different than what I have been use to eating back in Louisiana. Not complaining just didn't make my tastebuds want to run back. The staff was great and patient with my little one. The place was quiet and clean. Nice and roomy. There were plenty of customers so I'm sure it was my expectations that let me down versus the food wasn't great. Going to try it again and let the staff make a suggestion for me. The hamburger was for a 4 year old.

***ATTITUDE ISSUES*** We have been to this Mexican restaurant about 3 times or so. I'll be 100% honest. The food was really great. No complaints at all about the food. Fast service and delicious food. The ambiance is ok. With that being said, Unfortunately, the lady's (owner) attitude is not acceptable. You cannot ask her anything about the food you are ordering because she gets frustrated. That alone, kills the experience. Just a message for her. You have a restaurant. Part of owning a restaurant, is having great customer service so people return. We will not be returning even though the food was good. Her attitude scares people away. I ask you Ms. Owner, please please please be nicer to customers. We are paying customers and should be treated like you would like to be treated. I do not appreciate her making my mom feel guilty for asking questions and my mom was not able to enjoy the food. The lady who welcomed me in and was super nice gave great service and I appreciated the care she took into helping me order. The Torta is delicious! Fries crispy with a side chips included. Also got a horchata, really good, you can tell it's home made. Will definitely be back!

I love this restaurant they have got the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had... and I got two soups the menudo and the abondigas they give you mined onions and cilantro and the juiciest limes I've ever seen. Most restaurants their lines are dry AF but they are so good... best little Mexican restaurant ever they open at 8:00 and have the best breakfast as well... and when you get your tacos to go they are never mushy went you get home!!! read more

The restaurant is quaint, the owners were very nice. I had the #9 Two beef tacos combo, it was really good. I like the fact that the beef was tender, lean and they didn't skimp on the amount of meat. My wife had the Chile Verde burrito, she really enjoyed it. The burrito was so big she took half of it home. read more

This is probably our favorite restaurant in the Antelope Valley! Everyone is very polite and food is OUTSTANDING! We drive from town now because you are by far the best Mexican restaurant around. Your alcohol drinks are amazing and we do appreciate what service we get from all of the staff. This place is very clean! The food is always HOT and yummy. Do you like getting talked down to? This is the place for you! My fiancé and I went in, each ordered a burrito. We asked what came in each burrito and she listed off ingredients. At no time did she say onions would be on his burrito. I was totally nice and was just like, "hey we didn't hear you say onions, and there are onions." I was met with anger, and talked down to like a child. She actually said to me, "why you no tell me before?! Next time tell me before." Apparently everyone gets one, because she remade the food, and refused any further conversation with us the rest of the time. No acknowledgement to anything we said, even "thank you." 10/10 wouldn't recommend to a friend... unless being talked down to is their thing. read more

My family and i tried Azteca for the first time last night and we loved it! The food was great and so was the service. We had the burrito and enchiladas verde and bunuelos and ice cream for dessert. We also loved the cute apple swans that the chef made for our kids meals. I can't wait to go back and try the mole enchiladas. read more

Do not come here! We had the worst service ever! I didn't know they put onions in the burrito, even after I asked, because I'm allergic to them. When I said something the lady said, "why didn't you tell me!" I said I asked what was in it and she said "I told you!" She never said anything. But the fact that she gave me such horrible attitude because I said something. Then she said, "it's not my fault, everything is cooked with onions!" Do not come here! read more

My 2 star rating does not reflect the food whatsoever, because the food was great. The service on the other hand was impeccably terrible! Whoever the older woman is that works here, is beyond rude and has terrible table-side manner. No matter how polite I was with a smile or continuous "thank you's" throughout my meal, I never got a "you're welcome" of any sort, but rather a "are you done?" After my plate was empty. Rest assured, I hope she enjoyed my $0 tip which I felt was far too much for what she deserved. Regardless of the great food, I will not be back and will steer anyone I know from this place. read more

The food is good but the service is horrible. The waitress has attitude and eye rolling the whole time. We asked for a plate and she gave us a tiny one which did not fit even half of the the burrito on the plate on top of that the plate is dirty. We had to use the top of the take out plate as a plate so we could cut it and share. She ignored our table the whole time and asked for water multiple times which we never received. She has a problem with giving us an extra plate to share the big burrito. SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN HER CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE BECAUSE OF HER. read more

I consider myself to be one who loves authentic Mexican food so I thought I would check this local spot out. I actually been here twice. I should have known from how rude the cashier was and how empty the place was the first time not to purchase anything but I gave them a try and the food was mediocre. The second time I actually recommended family who visiting from out of town, to say I was embarrassed would be an understatement. The cashier did not want to place our orders but kept recommending the special that we politely declined she was obviously upset and started rushing us, then I'm assuming the cook is her husband who she started complaining to in Spanish. I will never purchase or reccommend this place to anyone the service is trash. read more

I am writing this review during COVID-19 takeout. This is my experience. I went in at lunch time, the first thing I noticed is that they have some outdoor patio dining available, which is nice. Then I noticed that they have a menu posted, but all of the prices are blacked out. When I went inside to order, it was empty. I asked them what happened to the menu prices and they said the price depends on what I order....huh?! At first I ordered 2 street tacos with rice and beans and a cheese quesadilla a la carte. She told me it would be $25...I was confused on the price and asked what the price would be if I did 2 tacos a la carte and the quesadilla a la carte and she said $19. 2 tacos (no rice and beans) and a quesadilla for $19!!! I ended up ordering because I had somewhere to get to. I don't understand how they can charge prices like that. I will say that the quesadilla was large and included a big scoop of sour cream and guacamole. The tacos I got were good and large for street tacos, lots of meat. Food was good! I will just say that the crossed out menu prices seemed shady and tacky and wasn't very welcoming. I am not sure if I will be back...... read more

Super good!!! I don't know why I'd didn't try this place sooner? Came early in the morning with me wife craving some good authentic Mexican breakfast n wow! This place did the job n some. I got the Azteca Breakfast which had eggs, carne asada, cheese enchilada, rice, and beans. It was super bomb! I recommend this place. The staff was so nice too! The vibe inside was cool as well with salsa music playing in the background and real nice Aztec decor and paintings. I jus love places like this with real authentic Mexican food. Our new spot for sure. Oh n try the lentil soup. read more

I agree with others. Doesn't deserve 1 star. Lady there was rude and acted as if she was doing us a favor and rushed us to order...'Are you guys ready yet' twice. Food was a C- Had to ask for chips and salsa after 10min. Also, ordered a margarita on the rocks. Tasted like straight margarita mix. Asked her what kind of tequila she used and her answer was 'wine tequila that has 24% alcohol and regular tequila has 40%, do you want another one?' No I don't. Do you want a beer or water? No I fine. She just walks away. We eat out 3-4x a week and this is my 1st time writing a review. Lazy front of the house staff stick out like a sore thumb!! What a joke that place was! read more

The prices are decent but the quality of food is low. The food here is so bland and tasteless that it's hard to believe it's made fresh. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't made fresh daily. There are better choices in Mexican food. Very disappointed in the quality/taste. read more

The food options are many, from Mexican classics, Burgers, Sandwiches and many other options. The meals are all made to your liking without any pushback around extra costs. The food quality was very high, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, they were very authentic with a tomato sauce and sauteed onions and peppers, not spicy but I did ask for their home salsa and it brought up the spice level, the dish is served with homemade rice and beans, all well cooked. I also ordered a side of pancakes and bacon for my dad and they were perfectly cooked. The cost of the meal was very reasonable and worth the visit. I have shared my experience with my friends and family in Lancaster.

I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Everything we've tried has been delicious, and I love that they even have mocktail options for my daughter so she can enjoy the experience too. My favorite food to order is the jackfruit street tacos. They are small so we usually get something else and share both things with my boyfriend. Love the local artist art gallery as well. It took about 30 minutes for someone to take our order, and our food didn't arrive until 11:20 AM. What made it more frustrating was that a group of six who were seated at the same time as us received their food much earlier and were already finished eating before we even got ours. During the wait, I also ordered a coffee that never came -- it seemed like it was simply forgotten. I understand Sundays can be busy, but the long wait and lack of attention really took away from the experience. Hoping this was just an off day.

Definitely order the home fries over hash browns, they are well seasoned crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So delicious don't skip! Definitely one of the best veggie burgers I have had! Top 5 for sure. Now the reason they didn't get 5 stars. The side of fruit that I ordered and two other plates on the table came with, wasn't fresh. It looked a day or a few days old. Only the melon was decent enough to eat. Next is more of a suggestion. I understand it's a diner but I feel like all restaurants/diners/cafes should have alternative milks such as oat, soy or almond milk. Because I asked for a cold brew but I had to drink it black due to the lack of alternative milks. Which was fine but I can't be the only person that has that suggestion. Overall Katz n' jammers cafe was a cute diner with 50s nostalgia on the walls and fair prices for good food!

The chorizo was good tasting, we also noticed that they offered a home made salsa, we asked for a taste, it was amazing. We also ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, the portion size was also huge, my brother loved the dish, it has a pile of gravy, sausage patty, hashbrowns and fruit bowl. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to check in. We would highly recommend this spot.

The food quality was very high, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, they were very authentic with a tomato sauce and sauteed onions and peppers, not spicy but I did ask for their home salsa and it brought up the spice level, the dish is served with homemade rice and beans, all well cooked. I also ordered a side of pancakes and bacon for my dad and they were perfectly cooked. The cost of the meal was very reasonable and worth the visit. I have shared my experience with my friends and family in Lancaster.

I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Everything we've tried has been delicious, and I love that they even have mocktail options for my daughter so she can enjoy the experience too. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. The staff is wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the upscale décor makes the whole experience feel special. We were walking down and checking out what was in the area when we passed by this restaurant. It seemed alright so we decided to stop in. A couple of people were eating and there was one waitress. We were greeted when we walked in but it took a few minutes for the waitress to take our order. I got a wet burrito and my friend got a combination plate with a chile relleno and hard taco. The burrito was on ok size but was very forgettable. They covered it in enchilada sauce from a can and the meat itself was rather bland so all you really tasted was the sauce, which was not good. I forced myself to eat about half since I had to pay for it. My friends plate was ok. Her food was a little bland also and the rice was over cooked. The place did get some more people coming in as we ate but the food is very Americanized. I would personally not come back here. read more

Azteca is an absolute gem tucked away in a small town, and it's definitely worth the short drive for those of us who don't live in the area. We've been making this trip for a few years now, and we always leave happy. The staff here is incredibly friendly and consistently provides great service. One of my favorites is their giant burrito, which I always customize by substituting the meat for their delicious carnitas, a decision you won't regret. Looks can be deceiving... My sopa shell was dry, hollow and tasteless. My cheese enchiladas the cheese wasn't melted. I was told by the waitress that made us wait 15 minutes before taking our order it was fake cheese. Wasn't melting all week! What! Then when paying had the machine set for 20,25 and 30 percent tip options. Lol Also the salsa & chip are not complementary to each other. Watery and lack salt.
