I went yesterday to pick up a burrito for my family, and unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We are careful with our sodium intake, and the burrito was extremely salty--so salty that we couldn't really enjoy it. I was also expecting more authentic Mexican flavor, but to me, the food tasted more like Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican food. Being Mexican, I personally prefer traditional, authentic Mexican flavors, and this just wasn't what I was expecting. Sorry to say, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be ordering a burrito from here again. Hopefully they can consider cutting back on the salt and bringing out more authentic flavors. read more

Just finished eating and OMG Food is amazing!! I love find locally Owned Gems in the AV. Food fresh and delicious. Service was absolutely amazing. Only regret is not taking pictures of our food- We devoured it!!! Our ordered consisted of Carne Asada plate- Perfectly seasoned and cooked Chilirelleno Burrito- Delish! My girls ordered a random pulled pork and it was sooo freaking good. I tried in of their famous ground beef tacos and it was sooo good!! This will definitely be our family new go to spot. This was my first time eating here, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with my meal. I ordered the 2 hardshell taco plate with one shredded beef taco and one shredded chicken taco. The beans were cold, and the rice was also cold and hard. The shredded beef was very salty and wasn't hot, which made it difficult to enjoy. The shredded chicken taco was okay, but overall, the meal did not meet my expectations. For my first experience here, I was hoping for fresh, hot food, especially when ordering a full plate. The GOOD: Super friendly service by the owner's son in law. He gave us recommendations and told us his favorites. The place is bright and clean and comfortable in the 100 degree weather. The loaded nachos were piled high. The breakfast my son ordered looked good and plentiful. The BAD: The Pepsi free had no carbonation and tasted like it had too much syrup. My son said his coffee tasted old (It was after 11:00 a.m. and could have been left over from breakfast). He also said the toast was not buttered and there was no jelly on the table. We could have asked for some but the gentleman at the counter was overwhelmed. There was no one to help him in the front of the restaurant. There was a large line of people for him to take orders from. As food got done it was left to sit on the counter until he could break away to deliver it. The food would have been much better had we received it when it was hot. My loaded nachos had congealed cheese although it did have a large amount of carne asada, chopped tomato, guacamole, and a sprinkling of cilantro. Well... when my beloved Casita Lopez was sold and became Casita Torres, I was scared, but it was all ok because the food stayed the same! Hallelujah. Not so now that it has been sold and became Rusty's. My number one favorite thing to order has always been the chile relleno burrito, wet. It was perfection. Now it's been ruined. The chile relleno was undercooked. Chile too firm, cheese not even melted completely inside, and seeds left inside which is always a bad sign in a chile relleno. The beans were ok. There was no rice inside anymore, and the enchilada sauce on top was less chile and more tomato. Almost had a chef boyardee vibe if that makes sense. After the "wet" upcharge and tax that crappy burrito cost $21. Anyway, I'm super disappointed, and have no plans of returning again. This was a nice find today, we were looking for a close spot to my folks house that served pozole, my brother recalled a restaurant nearby where he enjoyed the Mexican food, as we walked up to the place he noticed that the business had changed ownership, we decided to give it a try. We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff. The interior is a work in progress as the new owners are working to update and situate their new restaurant. They have a large seating area that can accommodate an army. We were impressed with the large menu options of traditional Mexican dishes, tacos, burritos, soups and so one. We were there to try the pozole, so happy they had some fresh pozole, my brother ordered the Chimichanga. Both had great flavor and food quality was very high. Being hispanic we quickly gauge the good quality against our moms, you know from the first bite when it's legit, Rusty's is legit. The pozole had nice chunks of meat, great seasoning, served with plenty of onions, cabbage, cilantro and radishes, the meal also comes with an ample side of tortilla chips that looked and tasted homemade. I ordered the small portion, thankfully I did verses the large the small portion was perfect. You can also ask for their home made salsas, from low spice level to extra spicy to your liking. My brothers Chimichanga was huge but one great difference was the amount of food within the Chimichanga, it was packed with beans and Carnitas, you can order it with any type of meat, you will not be dissapointed, its is also served with guacamole and sour cream. We are looking forward to our next meal to sample some of the other menu options. read more

I had mixed feelings about this place since I had seen people stating the food didn't have flavor. Came in and gave it a try. The food was ok nothing to rave about it's a typical Mexican/American restaurant. I had the bean and cheese burrito and that was ok it came with like 5 chips. My husband had the 2 hard tacos he said the meet was seasoned good and they had a good crunch. My son had the chicken strips kid combo only complaint the kids meals don't have an option for a fountain drink. Overall the restaurant is clean and nice the floor could use a makeover but the place is nice. Oh and the song choice while we were eating was bad Enrique Iglesias Tonight (I'm fucking you) might want to remove that from the play list. read more

I started going to this place years ago when it was originally Casita Lopez. It still remained pretty good when it became Casita Torres. I have always been a big fan of their veggie burrito. Bulging with beans, melted cheese and guacamole. Now it's Rusty's Grill. I would never have thought such a basic burrito could be so disappointing. I am not a fan of their tortillas, they put on a smear of beans, guacamole was ok, what little there was, the cheese was not melted, it was basically a cold flat "burrito ". My husband got his usual chicken quesadilla. It was bland, and again, not melted. We will not be going back. The service was excellent, but sadly did not make up for the food. Hello everyone it was my first time ordering food from this restaurant and ordered through DoorDash ordered a torta de Carnitas and a burrito with a chile Riano and Carnitas. I specifically called the restaurant because I know DoorDash doesn't always ask for salsa or condiments so I directly called the restaurant myself and the gentleman that answered was the manager/owner and I asked him please make sure you put salsa in the order. There hasn't been anywhere else where I've had to wait this long for a burrito and a waffle. It took nearly 20+ minutes to get our food while there were only 3 other customers in the store. Multiple customers came in and walked out with orders before we got our food just for the food to be mediocre. Burnt eggs, unmelted shredded cheese in the burrito, poor service, flavorless horchata and bad waffles. Everything about this experience was negative. Menu is plentiful. Food is so-so, at least the last time we were there. I liked it better when the Lopez and Gutierrez family owned it. I ordered the meat burrito, expecting it to be on a full sized plate with a generous serving of beans. Just like it was when it was Casita Lopez. We've been coming here through all versions, Casita Torres, Casita Lopez and now Rusty's Grill. The food quality has been the same delicious Mexican food (that's what we get) throughout. That is until now. We go every Tuesday. I order the Chimichanga with Chili Colorado meat, no beans. Well last Tuesday it was a very DEFLATED and FLAT looking burrito. The first 1/4 of the burrito I was eating into was just fried tortilla with nothing inside. I finally got close to the halfway point and sadly, I hit the filling. Beans and cheese with a VERY small amount of Chili Colorado. It was very sad. Last time we go. Time to look for a new spot. read more

Well since 1985 been frequenting this establishment. Yes Casita Lopez to Casita Torres now Rusty's Grill. I hate to say this but... burritos are very small now and the carne asada is minced instead of cut pieces and the flavor is lackluster now. I fully understand that there is a new owner and the menu was going to change. I was told they were going to keep the old menu and ingredients and were adding to the menu and a remold. As far as the remold I don't like the chairs with the tables. I would have like for there to be a couple booths. Also the salsa bar is gone. No more chips with your plates. The guacamole has changed and I'm not a fan of the tastes a lot of lemon like they are trying to keep it for a longer shelf life. The carne asada burrito was not good at all the meat was not acceptable. The bean and cheese burrito that is pretty basic was served cold to touch. I will not be returning and the new owner should talk to his guest about the changes he has made to the menu and ask for feedback if he wants his business to be successful. read more

I may have ordered again, but my husband started eating his "California burrito" I ordered him with carne asada... it was a shell full of beans with some guac and pico, the California burrito as described has meat fries cheese pico and guac... there was no meat or fries! not a great first impression and i was home and clocked into work so I could not return it. not to mention it took about 15 mins to make and the place was empty! not during a rush where perhaps orders could get switched. the girl at the register was not very friendly either. even tho this place is close i most likely will not return. read more
