Horrible landscaping service. Excellent pool service and good pest control. PROS - auto credit card billing - friendly office staff - all workers techs have been personable/friendly - hand on owner CONS - constant over promise, under deliver We hired Azteca for all three services last April. I cancelled my landscaping service today. The bi-monthly extermination services have been good. However, my experience with their landscaping service has been terrible. I think the owner Frankie is an honest guy, and I think he tries to follow through on his promises, but my experience with him and the various landscaping crews have been disappointing at every turn. I will itemize just some of the issues below. This is not an all inclusive list: - Started off on a bad note. Was told Frankie would be by for a quote the same day. He didn't show up, but after the scheduled time he called and said he would be there the next day. He was then late the next day. We did a good walk around and he gave a very reasonable quote. I have approx 1/3 of an acre with lots of green/trees and grass, so I knew it would not be an easy yard. I explained that I am clueless about landscaping and just wanted a company that could handle everything and tell me when any action or additional funds were needed. That includes watering scheduling, timing for grass cycling, etc. Frankie said that would not be a problem and that they would "make it tight". He also took notes of all of the things that would be done on the initial cleanup. When thew crew did their initial work many items were missed. They also left the pool full of debris. I don't mean a little bit of trimmings. I mean the entire water surface was covered. Frankie had given me his cell phone number, which is great, and said I should contact him if there were ever problems so I let him know that the crew didn't do the promised job. To his credit he immediately texted back and called me in the evening and said he'd make it right. He said that the pool tech would come and that the crew would come do the parts they missed. The pool guy came a few days later and cleaned up, but the crew did not. - For the second scheduled crew visit I texted Frankie and asked him to remind the guys that initial cleanup work was needed. They came and again skipped the work. Also didn't blow. I texted Frankie and he said he'd come with them the following Monday. - Trailer had a blow out so the crew didn't come to fix it...it happens, so Frankie said he would come with them personally on the next scheduled run. The next time came and he did not show up. Again they left a ton of debris in the pool. This was Friday before memorial day weekend...also found a dead rabbit in the pool right after they were there. I'm sure this wasn't caused by them, but if they had skimmed out their clippings they would have cleaned him out too. I texted Frankie again just to ask why he had once again not followed through on his word and he just said "I just could not make it. as much as I would like to retain you as a client, we may not be the right company for you" - After this they consistently scheduled the landscaping crew the day after the pool guy, and while they do a quick skim they never were as thorough as the pool tech so I still had to do my own cleanup every week. - There was a glimmer of hope when a new crew chief was hired for the landscape crew. They did an amazing job on his first visit. It was good for a few visits then started slipping again. - It has now been over a month since they have come out even through they are supposed to be here twice per month. No work from the office on why. I called other companies to quote and both came in at about the same price, but also pointed out which plants need to be cut back more, what needs more fertilizer/water, etc. I'd assume one is just trying to point out flaws to get the job, but there is a problem. when both point out the exact same areas of neglect. After 8 month I did what I should have done after the first few visits and fired Azteca. I think Frankie is a good guy and I hope he get get more consistent workers to fill out his crews. Maybe they just grew too fast and can't hire enough quality workers, but after all of the issues above, plus many minor minor issues along the way, we had to pull the plug. We plan to continue with the other two services assuming we don't see a big price jump with the cancellation of the landscaping. We will likely add a couple stars back if those continue as well as they have, but for now we have to give 2. read more

The jerk from Azteca arrived over an hour late and he was NASTY! When I asked him to put on a mask, I was actually afraid for my safety. I showed him where we thought the wasp nest might be and he said "Are you the expert now?" Very condescending and sexist. A big thank you to Azteca Home Services. Though we have used them for multiple services, I have to leave a 5-star review specific to an event. We had a neighbor with a tree that fell on their car late one evening during a large monsoon soon - sometime around 8pm. She could not get a hold of anybody to help. I had called owner, Frankie, asking to help our neighbor as she couldn't get a hold of anybody at that time of the night and had to use her car to get to work and get it out of the driveway for the rest of her family. He personally came out alongside his team and removed the tree so she could get it to work and get the other vehicles out of the garage. I used Azteca for pool services, before their highly trained pool tech retired/left the company I never had an issue with this company, but for the past 15 months I have been having a lot more downs with this company then ups, All the new pool techs hired were untrained and didn't know how to do anything beside skim and brush the pool, had one tech break my water level pump which I never said anything to the company because it was a cheap $30 fix,....Multiple times I had their daily report say they performed something and going back and looking at my surveillance it was never done, so basically the company was not only raping me for my money but also lying to me...I can continue on with more awful experiences but I think this is enough for most people to read and decide for themselves about their services. If you need pool maintenance or repairs and don't have time to do it yourself save yourself the headache and research better pool service companies...as far as their other services like landscaping, pest control I haven't had any experience with those so I can't say anything about those services, but based off the Yelp reviews I have seen they are horrible at those too...for pool services I wouldn't even recommend their pool service to my worst enemy. Frank tried so hard to keep my business by promising better service but not once did he actually come out himself and try to make things right instead he continued to send inexperienced techs who continued to provide below average service. This guy should stick to one thing and try to excel in either pest control, pool services, landscaping, not try to be a jack of all traits because he is only running his business under but taking on more services and providing horrendous service to his customers and then has the audacity to charge a ridiculous amount of money. read more

Super awesome people!!! I'm one of those odd folk who really hate the idea of killing any animal even a bug. I love my garden lizards. So I don't want to use harsh chemicals outside or inside that might harm my indoor furry family members. So when I asked the folks at Azteca about some more humane ways to deter rodents and bugs they came up with some ideas. (Totally appreciated!) My little desert garden is a happy home to lots of creatures and I'm glad we can keep things in check without being over run. :) The ants and packrats have remained GONE! THANKS Azteca. I've used Azteca Pest Control for the past several years. While they are not the easiest company to reach for service-they eventually call back to set a service time. Not sure what's happened to them lately but I've tried unsuccessfully for the past two weeks to get a copy of my termite service agreement for 2018. No matter how many times I've called them, they refuse to send it to me nor will they schedule a time to do a spot treatment. Just keep getting run around. I hired Azteca Home Services for a second home that we purchased in January. Never living in AZ before we were unaware of all that was needed to keep up our pool, landscaping & pest control. Frankie with Azteca Home Services was highly recommended to us by a family member. I did get several other quotes for all of these services and found Azteca to be right in line with the other quotes and since they were recommended I decided to go with them for all services. I could not be HAPPIER! They show up on time. Do fantastic work and are extremely responsive to any of my additional needs. I found that I had a bee and yellow jacket issue by my pool. They immediately came out and addressed the problem. I am also not used to scorpions (freaks me out) and found 3 dead ones in my home. They immediately came out and modified the indoor pest control for this. My very old irrigation system needed new heads in certain areas. They came out the day that we found it was not working properly. Identified what replacements were needed and were out within a few days to fix this problem. He came out was overly polite made an excellent impression and gave a reasonable quote. Because I liked him I did not haggle. (Good for the company, as for me it was fair enough) The quote was $87 quarterly for pest and $80 semi-monthly for front and back maintenance. Have been a customer of Aztecas for over a year now and have to say we have received top-notch service from the beginning! We recently moved houses and Azteca was able to treat the house for pests before we moved in ensuring we received a thorough treatment. Next we had their landscaping service remove some trees and bushes that should've be gone years ago... Well they showed up on Monday and the trees and bushes were gone and they cleaned up, additionally they cracked a water line in my sprinkler system, they turned off the system to prevent wasting water and then returned and repaired the system and also spread about 6 tons of rock. The owner Frankie is very hands on and if you communicate what you want to him then he will get it done, if you have an issues he will make sure it is resolved. I found Azteca due to the positive Yelp reviews and decided to give them a shot in a new home we moved into 6/22 with wife and 5 & 1 year old. Travis the technician came out on 6/29 to complete pest service. During the initial pitch, I told Travis that my wife and I do not blindly sign up for service contracts. I specifically told him that we were indeed in the market for monthly pest control but would base this decision on customer service and if we see bugs over the next month and customer service. Two reasonable expectations in my opinion. Travis made my wife an I feel as though we would not be seeing any bugs and that he was going to treat in 3 different manners in order to ensure this. That night, I found 15 scorpions. The next morning, my 1 year old was chasing a scorpion in our living room! We called Travis that day and he stated that the substances take time to "disrupt their dwellings". We accepted this and felt a week and a half would be enough time for the scorpions to be no longer residing in our home. During that two weeks, we have gone on nightly "scorpion hunts", especially in our son's rooms and have found some daily. My wife attempted contact with Travis who initially returned her call, leaving a message stating that the first treatment "slows them down" but does not stop them. This they would come out and retreat (management, we have saved to voicemail). My wife has attempted to call Travis back on numerous occasions, leaving him messages, with no return calls. She called the main office today and was told that they would come out again for another one time treatment charge. This company missed on both of our expectations and missed out on a loyal customer. 1. We contacted an exterminator, expecting extermination of bugs on our property. 2. We expected an honest, customer service driven company. Its a shame this company doesn't stand by their product. read more

My wife and I have used many different companies for both landscape and pest control.... man was I excited that I could use the same company for both. We called first about pest control as my wife found a scorpion in our new home. They showed the day after we called and treated that day. While there they also offered landscape maintenance for a very reasonable rate. As I work over 80 hours a week I do not have the time to maintain the yard.
