After providing them with a plan for our remodel, because they didn't have any accurate programming to do so, only drawings and no accurate measuring done, they told us for 30 days they would start and didn't. Then once they began did not know accurately how to measure out the paver pad area or turf area. What we were told would be a three day project ended up being a 6 day project and still turned out awful and would not recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work. Even the 'estimator' will argue based upon aesthetics not accuracy and also insult you. They should not be doing landscaping at all. Their communication is awful and expect you to follow up on their schedule. Also ridiculous over priced for a company that has no business doing landscaping period. read more

I should have read reviews before hiring this company. The owner came out and was a fantastic salesman. I hired them to do landscaping, pool, and pest control. My pool needed repair and acid wash and they started the service with a deposit. When the service and repair was about 90% complete they asked for the balance to which I paid. But they never finished cleaning the pool. It ended up causing many more issues that resulted in it immediately turning green again. So bad that I had to end up spending $6000 for another company to repair and clean. I have tried contacting Azteca multiple times to get a resolution but zero response! We rent a home that this poor man is being scammed by from this company. He pays for weekly pool services. Sure they come, but they pretty much come whenever they want. Between the days Tuesday-Thursday, between the hours of 6am-3pm. They spend about roughly 8 minutes "cleaning" the pool. I watched on my cameras one day (they're very visible so you'd think). The guy came in grazed over the top layer of water, scrubbed the steps, ONE wall, cleaned the trap and put the chlorine tablets & left. That was it. We had one fella who took his time, beautiful job. We called & said how much we liked his job performance could our house stay on his schedule... Never got that guy again because it's NEVER the same person. The amount of video & photo proof we have supplied to them & our rental company(they're pretty much useless) is crazy that they haven't tried fixing anything with us. I cannot say enough about how professional the Azteca team is. They came in and pruned two ficus trees, trimmed all the Juniper and laid rock at a very reasonable price. What a horrible company run by a rude, foul mouthed man. His landscaping equipment is so old and out of date, it only seems to work for his employees intermittently. The vehicles they drive are in such bad shape it is amazing no one has been severely injured in them or by them! No working seat belts... Doors that do not latch close (they are held shut by a makeshift metal thing!) and no side mirrors either. Frankie does not return messages until HE feels like it... Which in most cases is several days to over a week... And when he finally does get back to you, he is over the top rude and down right abusive! Stay away from this company! The attached photos are "After" the landscaper was there......same day! Over promise and under deliver....pretty much sums it up. Was at the hospital while my daughter was undergoing surgery and meanwhile people were working on my property and saying they were doing things they weren't doing. I guess you have to be around to watch and make sure they do what they say they will. Initially the owner Frankie came out and gave me a bid for pool service, pest control and landscaping. Was told they would trim bushes and trees, mow and edge lawn, blow out yard, overseed the lawn, fertilize all plants and kill all weeds, put down a preemergent and generally clean up the yard. Adjust sprinkler times to suit needs and basically take control of the yard.......they didn't do half that! The pool guy came out and texted that he balanced the pool and swept it. I know my pool, was never swept and 3 days later it looks worse than before. 3 days after Azteca was there I had a new pool Company come out and test water, chlorine was at ZERO! Landscaper basically mowed and trimmed the trees (too much I might add). He didn't edge my lawn, didn't kill weeds, no preemergent, no blow out and branches from trimmed trees were left behind. All of which I was told would be done. When I told the owner we weren't happy he had no apologies and blew me off then hung up on me. A couple days later I Called the office and spoke to Summer about a refund on the remainder of the monthly services because I cancelled. She apologized for the half rate service and said she would call me right back. After 3 days and no call back the owner then called asking why I wanted a refund. I said because he didn't deliver as promised and I didn't use the whole month I paid for. (No contract signed ever by the way!) He proceeded to berate me for wanting a refund, called me a piece of Sh-- And a Douche bag said he would refund half the pool service then hung up on me after telling me to never call his company again.....don't worry, I NEVER WILL. The-owner of the company is atrocious, makes promises he doesn't relay to his workers and has an entirely unprofessional approach to customer service. Takes customer concerns personally and holds it against people for being upset that they didn't get what he said they were going to get. He never apologized or offered to send his guys back out to make it right. Just took defense and attacked me verbally. There are way too many GOOD hard working landscapers to settle for this one. P.S. - 4 days since he said he would refund me and no refund. I expect he'll be as much a man of his word about the refund as he has been about the service his company provides! read more

Although the crew was very pleasant, they obviously have little experience doing patio overlay with pavers. All the cut pavers are on the field edge with the cuts visible instead of against the walls of the house where they would have been hidden. the border stones are not level and causes the flowerpots to rock. The step front facia does not match the boarder stone sizes nor is it consistent, they are also all different lengths, so some touch the ground and some have gaps between the bottom of the paver and the ground. The corner 90's of the boarder are not properly cut. not all joints were filled with sand. Some of the pavers are different heights and not level throughout. This review pertains only to patio/concrete overlay and not to full demo and build of which I have no opinion. read more

I employed the services of Azteca for over 2 years and to the tune of $5000. Last summer they had trouble keeping pool service employees, and I didn't realize mine hadn't been serviced for a few weeks. Luckily, I wasn't gone all summer! They would not refund the weeks missed when I asked for a credit and simply said they could no longer service me. I stayed on with the pest control until last month when, again, they had new employees. This one did not use the electronic gate code supplied by me to the company, but instead pushed his way through a gate that opens out, pulling it from the wall and leaving it inoperable. I immediately called Frankie who had them come back to fix it. Of course, it was not that easy. It cost me $630 to repair it, and Azteca refuses to speak to me. I have called several times, only to be hung up on. I have been instructed to only communicate by a "no reply" text message #, and have tried contact through Facebook. A complaint filed with the BBB has produced nothing. A simple offer by the owner to settle it with a credit for services would have satisfied me. Azteca gets either 5 stars or 1 star. Take your pick , and hope you're not one of the unlucky ones. There's a reason this company can't keep employees. read more

What can we say?? ... Frankie and his team were amazing! From the beginning, I had found Frankie and reached out to him about a paver patio extension off my preexisting slab patio, he responded almost immediately and had his office call me the following day. I spoke with Petra, she was the nicest and most personable person during our interactions , she was easy to work with and quite honestly fun to have a little conversation with. That same week Frankie personally came out to assess what we had planned and quoted us an extremely fair and affordable rate. Two days later, as promised, he showed back up with samples and helped us find what we really wanted and provided knowledgeable insight about what our yard could potentially become. (It's currently all dirt, ugh) We chose the paver and he was out the NEXT day for install!!! How amazing is that?! He stayed in contact with me from the time his team arrived to the time they left and sent pictures of the progression. I have used 6 to 7 Landscaper in the last 10 years and Azteca has been one of the worst so far. Owner came and gave a quote for Landscaping and at the same time he wanted to sell Pest control and swimming pool cleaning also. To be on the safer side, I signed up for Lawn maintenance and day 1 was good. Things keep getting bad. Even with Picture and written instruction they were not able to do it even the basic things. Not cleaning up after lawn is mowed, pushing things to neighbors yard etc kept happening. Talk to owner multiple times and his response was for extra money I can do a better job. Paid a TON of money for tree trimming and overall cleanup after a tenant moved out.  They didn't rake, only cut half the grass, didn't trim edges, left weeds, and left some parts of the yard completely untouched.  They also cut drip lines while trimming bushes and wanted to charge me to fix them.  I wanted to like this company because of the whole "support vets" thing, but do yourself a favor and pass. read more

Where to start? This company came with a FB recommendation from a friend, so I called for a yard work estimate once before. Never got a return call. Called back, just to check on things & had to start my request all over again. Owner came to do estimate & stated pricing. Company was slow to get work scheduled. When workers arrived, they just sat there in my yard with tools for 10 mins doing nothing. Finally they raked the yard, clipped some tiny bits off the trunk of the tree & left (not the work I ordered). Larger truck with more workers came about 1/2 hour later asking for payment from services. Had to explain what the work order was for & have this set of workers do the job. Company was supposed to call back with amount for reoccurring services & never did. read more

Joe from Azteca Pest Control came out today and I was very impressed! He was very thorough and I was pleasantly surprised by all the extra steps Azteca uses compared to services we have used in the past. He brushed all the cobwebs out of the corners of our high ceilings. They use a fine powder to get behind the walls under the sinks. He even pointed out some areas where bugs could be getting in that I didn't know were leaving us vulnerable. I can't wait to see the results of his work or rather, I hope we DON'T see any more bugs! read more

I'm convinced he gives about 20-30 clients/friends/groupies amazing service to get great reviews and then craps on everyone else. I know a dozen people who fired this guy for doing bad service. I usually do not get upset enough to do a negative review. I realize people/companies have bad days, employees call in sick, etc. In the case of Azteca, I met with the owner Frankie and told him of my past disappointment with people that call themselves landscapers. The last person I had was just a laborer and did not understand that a Lady Banks Rose was a vine and not a bush and he trimmed it like a bush. I lost several years of vine growth. I wanted Frankie to know I wanted a true landscaper, not a laborer. I wanted to make sure Frankie understood what plants I had and how they would need to be trimmed to look like they were supposed to. Frankie assured me he knew about the plants I had. I ordered some new plants from him that need replacing and needed them to do a general clean up, check the drip system, trim my palm trees, palo verde, evergreen elm and one Texas Ebony which Frankie said was his favorite tree. After rescheduling at least five times they finally came to do the work. When I came home at the end of the day the crew had left and I was surprised to see all the palm fronds, and husks all over my back and side yards. Normally a landscaper would take away the debris the day they create it. We can have a windy day anytime that would blow the debris around. I had to take my time to clean up my yard after they left. They did not trim the Texas sage the way you normally see them even after I mentioned it to Frankie and shockingly they left suckers coming off the bottom of several trees. What landscaper does not know to get rid of the suckers off the bottom of a tree? They did not touch the Evergreen Elm and the Texas Ebony looks butchered, (see picture). I may have to buy a new tree to replace it and that size is expensive. They did not plant any new plants and did not touch the drip system. I called and talked to Petra and told her all the debris was still there, no plantings were done, the Evergreen Elm was not touched and about the suckers. She was surprised and thought the guys were done. She said trimming the suckers off was not on the list. I told her that it should not have to be said that you trim the suckers off they are destructive to a tree to have them. After a couple minutes going back and forth I realized I was talking to a brick wall. I told her I wanted to meet with Frankie to make sure we were on the same page. After several more attempts to come meet with me, they did not come to. I sent them a very detailed email with all the issues and told them that unless they were prepared to do the job correctly that they did not need to come back. They assured me that Frankie would be here to make sure his guys would do the job correctly. They showed up this morning, actually earlier than they said so I hurried back from the gym to meet with Frankie and walked him around. I could tell they immediately had cut some of the suckers off some but not all of the trees before I came. Frankie asked me to show his guys where the plants go before he and I walked around. I ordered two red, two rainbow gold and three purple bougainvilleas,. Instead of 3 purple bougs they brought two Texas sage because apparently they had purple blooms on them. I guess they thought all I wanted was something that had a purple bloom on it. I walked Frankie around to show him that the drip system was not serviced because there were plants with no water next to ones that were working. I showed him for the second time the Evergreen Elm that was not trimmed. He told me in all of his time I was the most detailed guy he had ever worked with. I found that strange because I am not a landscaper, just a homeowner that knows what plants he has and what they are supposed to look like. We walked around the house to find one of the workers was putting a red boug in the ground. He had made the hole exactly the same size as the five gallon bucket. I had mentioned in the email that they need to bring some mulch/compost to put in the appropriate sized holes. I said to Frankie did they not bring any mulch and he asked why. I said the hole needed to be bigger and deeper than the plant size and he flipped out and said that is it and he is leaving. He said they do plantings all day long. He took his plants left a mess in the front of the house and left. Just google how to plant a new plant and any site tells you to make sure the hole twice as big as the original plant. It is clear that Azteca is trying to do too many things, they are not landscapers and need to have job details in writing. My experience is similar to other reviewers which I had mentioned to them in the email that I had read on Yelp and it does not seem to make any difference to them. I now have to hire someone to get rid of their debris and finish the job. I am going to make sure I have a real landscaper. I doubt that based on this review and the many others that Frankie will realize that he is NOT a landscaper. read more

I would recommend that all stay clear of this company. Pool service was supposed to be occurring weekly and he wasn't coming for months. Caused over $300 in repairs for just not coming and resulting damage. Would not refund my monthly fees except for one month when I knew pool service had not been occurring for months and could care less about refunding damages that I had to have repaired by another company. Owners not responsive when I reached out. Called for over 3 weeks while they avoided talking to me. Promised landscaping services on certain dates and came three weeks later after I continued to call. Left their own landscaping waste and had to call them to come get it. They sprayed pre-emergent in our yard a few months ago and haven't seen a single weed.. this last week we had them redo the pavers on our back patio and the end result is beautiful!! I was extra impressed with Z and the rest of the paver crew, as they diligently listened to all of my paver requests and utilized their own creativity and skill to create something really nice!!
