Well damn... I never thought I'd be leaving a review for a bike shop. I'm a 29 year old learning how to ride a bicycle for the first time. A month ago my boyfriend rented a bike with me and put me on the Beltline and I cried. Real grown-up-fear-of-mortality tears. So this week we went to Aztec Cycles and Preston changed my whole perception. He got me fitted to a bike my size. Went over the basics of starting and stopping and even how to self soothe when I get to a stressful part of a trail. He sent us on our way with directions to a path suited for my skill level, AND when my boyfriend and I failed to follow those directions we called him (because he had given us his number for such an occasion). So yeah... this is a five star bike shop. I'm even looking forward to getting on a bike again. Now I don't have to be a 30 year old who doesn't know how to ride a bike. Thanks Preston! read more

I'm new to cycling and the chain was skipping and jumping gears. I am staying at Stone Mountain Park Campground. So after reading the good reviews in the Yelp app, I brought my bike here to service the chain jumping. My experience was just like the other positive reviews. Preston and Anderson greeted me and adjusted the tension screws on the derailleur while I waited. They were very courteous and professional and left there pleased. I will visited here again, when I stay in the nearby camp. I recommend you visit here, too. read more

Got my 1st bike here, an alite 500. They dedicated a lot to time just to getting me a right fit. And yes, I did get the right fit. They usually carry both new and used bikes. So you do get a lot of options. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're a 1st time bike buyer. read more

I was on a ride to the mountain and realized my seat post was slipping. Found Chris' shop and he couldn't have been nicer. Helped me put some grip grease on and raise the seat with a torque key I didn't have. Great shop and great owners! read more

On the service, Kris was fast and honest about getting me on the schedule, came out to me as advertised in his mobile service, arrived on time (which is an anomaly for most places these days), knew his stuff, and was able to get my son's bike back on the road quickly. So now that I've gotten the regular part of the review out of the way, here's why I actually felt compelled to leave one in the first place (I rarely leave reviews). It's easy to tell when you're talking with an owner if they just own a business, or if they've figured out a way to monetize and build on their passion. Kris is the latter, and that's a rare thing to see these days. For those of you who really want to know about why the store is there, what it means to him, and where all of the heart that he puts into his work comes from, go ahead and ask him. Sunday found me on my new road bike and I got a flat. Although my grandmother always told me and everyone else how smart I was...I had no repair gear. So I pulled into Aztec Cycles and they fit me with a new tube and I was on my way. AND...I had to paypal them and he told me to do it when I got home. Very nice guys and they took care of me. I rented a road bicycle from Aztec Cycles while I was at Stone Mountain on business. The bike was wonderful. Their staff dropped off the bike and picked it up when I went back home. There was a spare tube and pump included on the bike. They even pre-adjusted the seat to fit me and it was right. The roads in Stone Mountain are beautiful, very smooth with some challenging descents. I often rent bicycles on my trips this was the best experience I've had anywhere. read more

This place is a gem. The owners are knowledgeable and helpful. They fixed up my kid's bike for around $40. The tire was blown and the tube had to be replaced. The brakes were shot and stuck. The owner fixed it in half an hour. So glad we found Aztec Cycles. read more

I was out on a ride after installing a chain catcher and my derailleur started slipping. By the time that I made it to a bike shop (this one), I had no front shifting. These dudes let me borrow shop space, a stand and tools to reset my front derailleur. They didn't even charge me! read more

It's a very well-run establishment. I'm not sure, but I get the feeling it's a family business. The young man that opens up the shop is super friendly and helpful. I got a tune-up recently and when I brought my book home, there were a couple of things that weren't quite right. I called them and they said to bring it right back and they would take care of the problems. I brought the bike back and both problems were taken care of quickly and easily. Preston, Michelle, and Kris are amazing people. I felt like I was a friend or family member that they had known for years. On my first visit to the shop, I was warmly greeted and welcomed. Michelle and Preston took the time to listen to me in order to accurately determine my needs. I hadn't owned a bike in some time. Preston determined that I needed a commuter bike needed by KHS. I kept mentally pinching myself not believing that I was receiving excellent customer care. It's truly very difficult to find people that are passionate about their jobs and willing to go the extra mile. Preston, Michelle, and Kris all went 10,000 miles and back for me. In the future, I will gladly give them my business. I have already told countless people about their shop and the extremely friendly and gracious way that they treat people. I let them know that they break down bikes so that a novice can understand while being very patient with you. They don't care if you buy your bike from them. Their only concern is to treat you with respect and provide the highest quality of service at a fair and reasonable price. I've already taken my bike back to them twice for a flat tire and two broken spokes. Each time, I've paid great rates for service. And they have taken the time to chat with me about my bike and life. Great experience here today. Kris, the owner, is a super nice guy. I brought two bikes in and had them both back same day. First one, an older Schwinn, needed some major deraileur adjustment. I'd tried, and failed, to adjust it myself, but Kris had it shifting smooth as butter in 10 minutes. Second bike was my new road bike. I'm new to road biking and Kris took the time to not only check it out and adjust everything, but explain what I needed to know about maintaining it myself and where along the way I'd benefit from professional tune-ups. Kris also told me about a couple good places to ride in the area and invited me to his group ride in Stone Mountain Park. All in all, I was really happy with the service and the personal attention. Preston took great care of me when I came in for a flat tire while rolling around Stone Mountain. I ride tubulars which are expensive and a big job to change. We have been buying bikes from Kris for many years, and go to see him for everything even though we live right around the corner from a well-know bike shop. He and Michelle spend a lot of time with every customer to assure that they know and understand their bikes, upgrades, repairs, and accessories. They work very hard to fit the bike to the customer and have never tried to sell us things our son didn't need or overcharge us for repairs. Check out this great little bike shop in Stone Mountain Village. Kris and Michelle were very friendly and helpful in helping us get our new bikes ready to hit the bike trail. They made sure we had the right fit, helped us feel comfortable with our bikes, and offered great advice and options as we made our choices. It only took one week to order and have our new bikes ready to ride. Kris knows everything about bikes and wants his customers to be knowledgeable about their bikes before they leave the shop. He and Michelle are great bike enthusiasts and have a great assortment of bikes and accessories to satisfy any cyclist. If it's not in the shop, they can order anything quickly. Love this store. Michelle made me feel like I was family from the moment I walked in the door. I came in with 3 bikes knew a little about what I needed but wasn't sure if I needed a complete tune up or not. They were super honest, super quick. and took care of me and all three bikes while I waited. I figured I would be picking them up in a few days. They also sold me bike that attaches to my bike for my daughter which is perfect for her. Kris and the other gentle man were curious, kind and did great work on my bikes.
