Our family reunion tour was so unsatisfactory primarily because our tour guide was very…read moreinexperienced. The bus driver did not know where she was going. She was unsteady and did not really know how to maneuver the vehicle well. They clearly did not have a good plan mapped out. The microphone on the bus was broken so we could not hear the tour guide. He was not sure about any intriguing facts about any of the sites and he was tentative, lacking professional posture and communication. He was a student and very kind but should not be a tour guide. Aside from the bus being comfortable it was a pretty low quality experience. We drove by the HBCUs, saw the outside of Tyler Perry, Studios, and visited the King Center. All great sites. The website advertised numerous additional stops though. The worst part of all of this is that the owner did not care AT ALL about our experience. The tour was over $1500 for 30 people. It was as if he took the money and was not interested at all in whether we were satisfied. At the very minimum had he gotten a megaphone (as requested) or checked the sound on the bus before the tour it would have made a huge difference. He also needs to train all of his tour guides and map out a plan for them to follow. This saddened me.

This tour takes you to a lot of places in Midtown that I would've never seen before but now I want to experience these places as well. I've never been to Piedmont Park and I will be going back to visit. But the tour guy was amazing. He knew a lot on the tour and I will say he knew all of our names. It's hard to learn one person's name, but having to learn that seven people that were on the tour and being correct every time it was impressive. They give you a helmet and teach you from the beginning how to ride, slow down, come to fast stop so you are comfortable before you even start the tour. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. I highly recommend you take this tour if you're ever in Atlanta.

Shelease presented a well rounded informative narrative starting at Ebenezer Baptist Church, driving along Martin (Michael) Luther King Jr birth home on Sweet Auburn Avenue with a drive to East Point to peek at outside of Tyler Perry Studios hearing about Fort McPherson and how the country of Russia helped the Union Army in the Civil War, we then drove past the Atlanta University Centers where excellent preachers and teachers of the past trained, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse,Morehouse School of Medicine,Spelman College and the Interdenominational Theological Center, Booker T Washington High School, the Herndon Home Sunset Avenue,a hub of Black excellence, the Friendship Baptist Church, the quizzes were fun naming some famous celebrities..I won't give it away! I could keep going..John Wesley Dobbs Park, Big Bethel AME, the murals depicting civil rights scenes, Tipsy Hustle and the Martin Luther King Jr National Historical Park. The route must be known by the locals, as many folks on the streets seemed to know the Funny Bus and would wave and smile as we drove by. Technically, the downtown connector is the entire 7 or so miles of Atlanta's highway mess where I-75 and I-85 run concurrently through the center of the city and include the part where it meets up with I-20. Three major highways all by themselves, now add them together and mix them with a few curves and underground parts to make for a total cluster. Carrying more than 437,000 vehicles per day, it is one of the top ten most congested stretches of interstate highway in the entire United States. I was just headed into downtown to visit a couple of sites and got caught up in it. What a danged mess! I am only on this stretch when I need to be in downtown.
