Leslie on a bike, saying hello to a skeleton sculpture along the Beltline
Leslie H.

I was delighted to rent cruiser bikes from Atlanta Bicycle Barn on my recent trip to Atlanta. You can't beat the location, which is right next to the Beltline, nestled between Krog Street and Ponce City Markets. The guy working the front desk was welcoming and offered lots of helpful tips for where to stop along the Beltline to take in the many sights, food, and beverage options that are available. The prices were reasonable and the cruiser bikes were in decent shape, and they provided helmets for free and a bike lock for $5. I was especially happy to be welcomed back by the resident bike barn cat when we returned the bikes after our 3-hour ride along the Beltline.

green and sea green bikes were great for short people

Impressed! This is the ideal Beltline bike rental place in every way. 1. Free parking in the parking lot (it's a bit rough getting in, and the ground is not smooth, but still, free parking is free parking) 2. Located RIGHT on the beltline. 3. GREAT rental price: $5/hr ($10 min, but that makes sense as you'll likely need 2 hrs anyway) and there's a flat rate if you need to go over. 4. Helmet included. Bikes are in pretty decent condition; I was able to find a pretty newish, clean one. For all the germaphobes out there. 5. Can pick your bike and also switch bike seats. I picked one with a cushier butt pad and was happy I did. Some of them look new. Tips: I am 5'2" and I found that the ONLY bike type that worked for me was the one in the picture. The others just don't adjust to as low as it would to place 2 feet comfortably on the ground, and without gears, I felt safer being able to have 2 feet on the ground. Some other short adults used kid bikes but I don't think that's a good way to go unless you're REALLY short, like 4 ft or under. Tip #2: There ARE ebikes, but they're $15/hr. Daniel was very friendly and helpful! We had a great biking experience.

Knocked on the door and a friendly fellow opened and asked how he could help, to which I gave the wheel to our stroller and said it's flat, can you fix it ? Waited outside and within minutes the inner tube was changed. Thanks for the quick service!

Biking on the BeltLine

Perfect spot to rent a bike on the BeltLine. We rented three bikes on a Friday afternoon for about two hours and with tax and tip the bill was less than $40. Location on Sampson is less than ten minutes from downtown. Can't wait to return!

This was such a great deal. Okay, so you drive up, park, pay, pick a bike out, and ride. We rode from the shop to piedmont park, enjoyed a few hours at the botanical gardens, then rode to Ponce City Market for food and local dives. Afterwards we checked out the skate park and headed back to the barn. Great tour to take your out of town friends on or just a date idea for your special someone.

My go to bicycle rental place! The staff is always very friendly and despite it being a pretty popular bicycle rental, the process to secure your bike is a pretty smooth one. There is a one sheet consent form to sign that you can share with another individual if you are not riding alone. You pay upon return and the price for two hours is more than decent! Not to mention, it is perfectly located right off of the beltline. I can't wait to return soon! There's also a cooler inside with cold drinks. Perfect to end a nice bike ride. I'd highly suggest renting from this place.

These guys were super nice and very knowable. I went in looking for an EBike not knowing much and had superb and super friendly informed service from Daniel (I think I remembered that right!?). Also great input from Lance who seemed to get mad respect from everyone who walked in. I tried several bikes but only one was a consideration for my specific needs and legs, so I left planning to come back for it to ride more on a warmer day. Eventually, an online bike with a two year warranty won me over, but I will always appreciate and send people to these guys at on the Beltline for rentals or anything bike related. Great group, fun shop-- and the coolest bicycle tire clock ever.

Tandum bike ride.

Took the whole family for a bike ride. The kids loved it. Can't wait til the weather is better in Atlanta to go out again. Since my daughter couldn't ride her own bike my wife and her got a tandum bike. Nice that they even offered those. All the bikes were clean and in great working condition too. Prices were actually lower than what I expected. So it was nice to go out with the family have a great time and not have to spend a lot.

Is this business still open? I noticed the domain is gone.

Any referrals for mobile bike assembly (2)? Need someone who can come to home and assemble 2 sixthreezero bikes. 30331 area.

I really doubt anyone is coming to assemble bikes in your home, especially in this pandemic. I'd suggest bringing the bikes to your local shop (call ahead) to have them assembled.

A week later, they added $50 for the part plus another $75 labor fee, bringing my total to $200. Nearly a month later, my scooter still isn't fixed. I had to call five times for updates because they never followed up. Eventually, I was told the repair failed and they want me to pay for yet another part. The shop responded to my concerns below by citing a posted $100 diagnostic fee, but my invoice said installation, and staff explicitly told me I wouldn't be charged again. If this policy were truly iron-clad, why did they charge me $75 instead of $100? That alone shows that these policies are flexible when it suits them but firm when they've messed up. Their explanation doesn't change the fact that I was misled and left without a working scooter. I've already paid $200 for nothing but wasted time and broken promises. The only fair resolution is for them to complete the repair, parts included, at no extra cost. If you want honesty, communication, and actual results, take your scooter elsewhere

I thought it was an overinflate issue. The wheel locked, decimated. CARRIED my bike 5 blocks. So piss'd off. FWIW I do not blame the person who did the original realignment. It is not his fault. It's the manager for setting up a bad chain of command and her appalling gaslighting. They said "Yeah your rim was already indented, and look, it's the back rim too. When the brakes applied to that, this front wheel rim split, caved in and exploded.". That'll be $85 more, they said. New wheel, inner tube, costs. Uhm. What? The alignment of the brake pads is done when you align them TO THE RIM OF THE WHEEL. You cannot align the brakes without aligning the rim, they work together in a pair. That is the time to tell the bike-rider of the impending catastrophe. I was so angry. They didn't tell me. Or warn me or make it known. I requested a discount from the manager. I'd just had the brake adjustment. This lady nicked and dimed me. They fixed the brake alignment and must have seen my coming back for more. Jeez. Switch bait. She gaslit my Every. Single. Sentence. Blamed me for not having a service earlier, for not noticing it myself and said it wasn't their responsibility to tell me about the rim. Uhm, it's LITERALLY your responsibility. I'm not the technician. Brake pads apply to wheel rims. It's Literally. Your. Job. argued I told her I felt very unsafe and didn't trust this shop now. She argued my every sentence. She said anything she could at every turn to make herself look good. Lady. At least have the COMMON decency to agree with a sentence out of my mouth. I shouldn't have to argue over and over or defend myself when I'm telling the manager I feel unsafe. When leaving, she told me to take care of servicing and to come back for adjustments. Lady, if you think I'm ever coming back to this store, you're crazier than I already think you are. And I'll expect her to reply to this with yet more gaslighting.

I use my middle…read morename on personal social media nowadays and my profile pics on here are of a young woman in her twenties, which I am definitely not anymore. Hehe. But it is good to know that Pedego still does "acoustic" bike repairs, you'll be seeing me soon for that! In any case, I think I wrote that last review before I bought my actual Pedego about two years ago, which is kind of crazy. I am now a very proud Pedego owner and I love being a "regular" at this store. For the first year I owned my Pedego, I ended up having chain drop issues and coming into the store to get them fixed; also one flat tire. But there was apparently a manufacturer issue on this model and there was a chain guard fix (I don't know what I'm talking about just doing the best I can with lingo) and since then I haven't had any issues, so I haven't been back except for tuneups and once to rent a bike when my friend was in town! They keep a copy of my bike lock key (Pedego locks which are registered) because I am constantly losing things. Everyone always super helpful and they remember me. Nothing makes me feel more like a "neighborhood gal" than this place. So we've now established that this store is 5+ stars in service. A few things to know about Pedegos themselves if you're considering buying one. * I have a city commuter, and it's a beast; the battery is heavy. But well worth it. I tend to use level 1-2 pedal assist at all times, which I justify because the battery is so dang heavy. It takes a bit to get used to starting up - I use the throttle to get myself going after a stoplight, etc. I don't think I've ever used level 6 pedal assist, it's terrifying. But I have used 3-4 when I'm in a hurry and it makes a difference. * My mom (late 60s) also has one and loves it. They even drove it to the beach last year - so it's POSSIBLE to put it on a rack - but we have a hybrid van and haven't managed to get a rack that can handle it yet. * My initial hesitation in buying an e-bike was that I'd never ride my regular bike again and it wouldn't be a workout. And like, look - that's true; I burn far fewer calories on bike rides / my heart rate doesn't go up nearly as high. It's just too hard not to throttle up those hills. But it's also true that I ride it way more often and I feel way more empowered to get where I'm going. I once rode up to a doctor's appointment in Sandy Springs! * During the pandemic when there was a parts supply shortage it was a bit scary / awkward because if something broke I wasn't sure I could get another one. I think I was particularly concerned about tire tubes? or something? (Again, I can't remember any lingo). And Pedegos do tend to have rather specialized parts. But every time this happened, the folks at this store basically did whatever they could to get me back on the road, even one time taking a part from another bike in the fleet! I'm telling you they are the best. * I really want one of the Pedegos with a seat for a second rider on back so I can cart my kids around - they have one in the rental fleet. But they're never in stock to buy! Kathy says she'll tell me the second she gets one in, and I know she will :) Ahem, I should start saving... And if you're considering renting one: * comes with lock and saddlebags and helmet. That may seem obvious to some people but it wasn't to me and I was happy :) * it's on the expensive side, but definitely worth considering anyway. it's located right on the beltline and these things are so fantastic; it's a great way to explore the city for a day. We rented one for my friend when she was in town and had a great day riding up to Piedmont Park on the beltline, then over to the High Museum where we caught the exhibit, then rode back - all in ~5 hours. Yay Pedego!!!
