Received a bike fit from the owner, Tom, as well as a few services related to issues he caught on the bike during the fitting process. Bike fit was top notch - old school w/ no gimmicky technology, but Tom was able to get me the last 10% from good to great, which was well worth the very affordable cost. Tom knows his stuff and this is the type of independent bike shop that you should be spending your money at. I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

I made the mistake of trying to replace the inner air tube of my tire by myself, but I ended up poking a hole in the new one I just bought. So I recommend going to the professionals and they can handle it easily and make sure you are completely satisfied before you leave. The staff was very friendly and were very considerate of social distancing. They took the wheel from my bike and were able to completely change it out within 10- 15 minutes. It was an older bike/tire so I am not sure if it would be more difficult for a more high-end tire. The cost of different repairs/services is different so be aware of that, plus the cost of the specific part/tire. They looked to have a good variety of bikes for sale, but as a said I only came here for a repair so I was not looking closely. I am a very casual bike rider, but I would recommend this place to any bike riders. read more

My husband Called here 2 months in advance from California to rent a road bike for an Atlanta cycling ride for weekend . Upon our arrival from California to Atlanta we were met with "technical error we rented it out" and a smirky chuckle. ABSOLUTELY NO CALL NOTIFICATION, to advise , so we could have at least tried to make a reservation elsewhere. EXTREMELY unprofessional and did not display any concern or offer any possible solution for my road bike needs . Suggested a hybrid bike that appeared to not have been maintained for quite some . This experience was HIGHLY unprofessional and completely RUINED my ride and reason for coming to Atlanta, would not recommend. read more

Whether for off road biking, mountain climbing or speeding on the roads, you must check the staff at Smyrna Bicylces. You may rent a bike for the day or purchase one outright, these guys know their stuff. They also do repairs & maintenance on your current bike. The renting of the bicycles aren't bad at all. My bike needed some work (and dusting) after a long winter in the shed. I stopped by and the guys took it in right away, changed out the tubes that weren't holding air and quickly sent me on my way. They didn't try to sell me things I didn't need and didn't judge the amount of dust and spiderwebs on the bike. Thanks for checking all the other stuff like brakes, chain, shifting. We bought two Giant bicycles from Smyrna Bicycle Shop. Love them. Due to circumstances we couldn't ride them for awhile. When we pumped up a tire, it popped. We brought both bikes to the shop. The technician stopped what he was doing, repaired the tire, replaced the bent brake switch, and checked out both bikes. We were on our way in about 20 minutes. I wish more businesses had service like this. read more

We are visiting Atlanta for a wedding and decided to venture to the Silver Comet Trail for a bike ride. The closest bike rental place we could find near the trail was this place. None of the rental bikes have baskets save one --. 3 speed Electra townie that I had only front brakes which I thought was strange. Bike quality was ok -- definitely an old bike but serviceable. The employee who helped us gave pretty lousy directions to get to the trail and when I suggested later that they should really provide a little map as the path is not at all clear they seemed very defensive. My husband came back after an hour but the guy wanted to charge us both for two hours and then after I pointed out that he saw my husband return he said he's do us a favor and give us the credit for an hour. This is BS because he only used the bike for an hour so this was not a favor. The whole experience was not great and I would not recommend this place. read more

A great little bike shop in Smyrna off of the East West Connector in the same plaza as Starbucks. It is conveniently located off / near the Silver Comet Trail. I took my bike in yesterday (Wednesday) for a seasonal tune up, spoke replacement, and chain replacement. I was expecting it Friday or maybe Monday... I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from them saying it was done and ready today (Thursday). The price was very reasonable the the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. I made several additional purchases in order to get myself ready to ride and will surely return again and again as I need to. You should too! They have made a loyal customer out of me. They also offer bike rentals as well for use on the trail and a wide variety of great bikes for purchase. It is important to support local businesses such as this one that provides great service, great customer service, great location, and all at a great price. read more

I have an older bike that I haven't even rode in 3 years. I called another bike shop and their basic service was $75 and they then proceeded to tell me I'd probably need tires and a chain totaling another $75. I hung up and was thinking of just donating it to a friend's yard sale when I remembered Smyrna Bicycles (saw it next to the cupcake shop once). Found their number on google and spoke to BROWN who said their basic tune up is $60 but why don't I bring it in for a free look. I threw it in the car immediately. When arriving, I was braced for a sale job. Imagine my surprise when Brown mounted the bike and said it could use some air in the tires which were old and starting to crack but otherwise I should just ride it and come back when I need new tires! Felt like I'd won the lottery. He even pumped air in the tires and adjusted the handle bars right then. Ironically, another customer came in with the same dilemma and they told him the same thing. What customer service!!! I'm pledging to ride once a week for a while and certainly going to Smyrna Bicycles for any furture needs! read more

I was visiting Atlanta for work for a few weeks, and didn't have any way to bring a bike with me. Given the weather is so warm down South, I decided to find myself a rental for a few days with my search leading me to Smyrna Bicycles. The shop is conveniently located right on the Silver Comet Connector which leads to the Silver Comet Trail. You could easily pick a bike up and just go ride for the day though they do multi-day rentals as well. The rates are quite reasonable - the price for each additional day is discounted so it is easy to hold on to a bike for a few days. I was able to pick up a bike Friday evening, join the Atlanta Cycling Coalition's Mobile Social that evening and then do a great ride up the Silver Comet trail the next day. The bike performed flawlessly - they obviously take good care of their rental fleet. Everything worked perfectly and was tuned properly, a rarity for rentals in my experience. While I was there I also picked up a new Night Rider headlight that I'd been thinking about buying anyhow. Their price was excellent and they were easily able to help me get what I wanted. Since I wasn't buying a bike or getting service done I can't specifically comment on those attributes but everyone in the shop was very friendly and they appeared to have a good selection of bikes. Not the best place, limited availability of hybrid bikes. No option to reserve. Kind of nonchalant as it relates to setting expectations on when the bikes would be available. Suggest I drive to Hiriam Ga, states that's the closest bike rental in Metro Atlanta. Very disappointed I drove from Buckhead to hit the Silver Comet. Oh, how I miss Bike Barn in Houston. read more

Maybe their products are fine but their customer service sure isn't. My son got a flat, called to see if they had the right size tube and asked when they closed (5pm. It was 4:40 when my son called.) We hop in the car and get there at 4:53. They are closed. My son calls back, no answer, dark inside. Pretty sad. read more

This is a great Cyclist Church, bar, home, I've been going here since my Cycling interest for at least 7months the staff are very knowledgeable and willing to listen and critique my riding experiences along with keeping my bike fine tuned, they have competitive pricing oft times a little less expensive, I learned the Foundational Science of Riding like mastering gear selections, how to stop and start even when to stop and what to do while stopping I could discuss for hours the lessons learned while visiting.. This place is astronomically expensive. My daughter is four years old. She has a 16 inch toddler bicycle. Both tires are flat and need inner-tubes...no problem. The tubes cost $12. Then I was told that the fee would cost $30 for tubes and service.....you're telling me that it cost $18 to service a toddler bike?! Get the hell outta here. Do you realize the mark up on service?! I bought the tubes and left. I do not recommend this place for any cycling service or rentals after hearing that nonsense. Save your money and do the service yourself. read more

Had a great experience. I was helped within seconds of walking in the door. They were very friendly and quick to repair my wife's bike and even threw in some tune-ups. They were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Will visit again next time I need anything bike related. read more

Everyone was friendly and gave good advice. But let buyer beware. Prices are high. I bought a bike there that was $40 over the retail price. My fault for not shopping it around. And I tried to purchase a pump with a price tag of $24 but at the check out counter, they said the wrong price was on all the pumps and it became $40+. Next, they quoted me a starting price of $200+ for shoes and Cleats. The shoes were not that impressive looking. After paying too much for the bike I searched online and bought a great German-made 5-star rated shoe and cleat for half the price. read more

My husband and I rented a bike (one for him - I had my own) from Smyrna Bicycles on a weekday June 2015. The employees are knowledgable and efficient-if not particularly personable. There were no choices offered-but the bike they gave him was good. The shop is located very close to the entrance to the Silver Comet Trail. We parked in the bike shop lot and then rode on the sidewalk a short distance until we entered the beautiful, shady and forested trail. There is also a rental place about 2 miles into the trail which we have not used. read more
