Despite my…read moremaking repeated phone calls, sending an email and their promise to call me back, they have not contacted me as to why it's taking an inordinate amount of time for document recovery, what they have done thus far, what progress they've made (if any) and the overall status of the situation. They are being evasive and I am being given the runaround. Document recovery shouldn't take this long and if there is an issue I want to be notified with specific answers to my questions in a timely manner! This is not a simple matter of backlog or the complexity of what should be a relatively simple task. It's a matter of inept communication and the refusal of Plug and Play to provide the client with decent and professional customer service.

To be long winded: my 1.5 year old gateway laptop decided it did not want to turn on, - after calling many repair shops I discovered many places do not even work with laptop hardware issues- iTech did! so Plus 1 for them. I took my computer here and Rich diagnosed it with a faulty motherboard. If you chose to get the work done with them, the diagnostic fee is waived which is good, and the labor/parts were fairly priced. Rich was good at staying on top of communicating with me about where my laptop stood on the repair, unfortunately I kept being told it would be done friday... then on friday... o no, maybe Monday. Then once the motherboard was fixed, it turned out the touch pad had also somehow went- In the end it took 2 months to fix! And was a lot more money than the initial estimate. To be fair- that was not their fault, there were unforeseen problems that kept delaying things, and most of the hold up was waiting on parts. Rich did discount some labor in lieu of making me wait so long. and now here I am typing on my once-again-wonderfully functioning laptop! and restored some needed data for school before the fix for free. Just a warning if you go: the Office is in a house. Its a white house, on a random side street with a red door, you have to go to the side door and press the doorbell labeled "B", which I didn't figure out until I got there.

Got it back and they had installed a 'cleaning' program on it without asking or telling me. I had to ask THREE TIMES (in the course of my several calls and visits while my computer was being worked on) if they would install a new hard drive and system on the machine, and how much that would be, thinking I'd just archive this drive, and Sam just kept saying, "You don't really need it." Umm - I'll be the judge of that. YOU just tell me if you want my business. Maybe it's because I'm a gray-haired old lady and I don't deserve the respect and professionalism of a straight-forward answer (or any honest communication about my computer), but is that any better? Granted it was a quick check and I asked them specifically to look at one component but it still says a lot about the type of operation they run at Microtime Computers. Most recently I screwed up the installation of a graphics card and I thought I fried my PSU in the process so I brought my system in and they tested it for me. Sure enough, I killed the PSU. I asked what my options were/if they thought I killed other components and the guy told me it was possible that I did but it would be $90 to take a close look. He recommended I buy a new PSU, plug everything up and hope for the best considering I would need a new PSU regardless. If I was having troubles he told me to bring it in first thing Monday and they'd evaluate the whole situation for me. I got lucky and everything survived, system started right up with a new PSU. They could've charged me the $90 and then told me all I needed was the PSU but they didn't do that. I'll be back whenever I have an issue I can't deal with by myself.
