I love spooky season. Having had the chance to see both…read morerecently, I'm going to compare both ScArizona and Fear Farm. I had a great time at ScArizona. It was the first haunted house area I went to this season. I was most impressed by the passion of the hired actors. They really got into character and the costumes were great too. There were 2 haunted house options open the night I went. The overall grounds for a bit rough after the recent heavy rains. The place overall had a backwoods, abandoned construction site vibe to it. Going through two of the three haunted houses took less than an hour including waiting in line. The design of the haunted houses was good. A few jumpscares and definitely creepy characters. However, there wasn't much to do at the event grounds activity-wise after going to the haunted houses.

To my haunted house-loving friends, this was the coolest, most impressive haunted house experience…read moreI've ever enjoyed! They really went above and beyond, the actors were great! The setups impressive, the haunts wandering through the lines were so fun...5+ stars! Totally recommend Scarizona! I haven't laughed like that in a long time...I don't think I've screamed like that ever! The all black room areas are especially unique! The house further off had way shorter lines last night so maybe start there, then go back to the one closer to the admission area. Either way the actors make waiting on line very fun! What's the last thing you did to bring out your inner child?

Golfland Sunsplash - Miniature Golf with Castle and Slide in the Background

Especially once I got…read moremy driver's license as I really like the arcade as there are quite the variety of games. Plus, you can play mini golf or even take a ride in the bumper boats or race karts. Definitely a timeless classic for me, and why I prefer Golfland over Sunsplash. Though Sunsplash isn't my favorite, I've still enjoyed myself there as my previous company used to do a holiday splash party each summer. The rental spaces are great, though the catered food was nothing special (hamburgers and hot dogs). All in all, it was still a fun event and you can count on me being in the lazy river if visiting Sunsplash!

It's off season and the water park is only open for 5 hours. That's fine and dandy but let's talk…read moreabout this for a minute. It's $40/$41 if you buy a water part ticket before you visit. $41/42 if you buy the day of. That's really expensive for a water park only open for 5 hours AND only half of it being open. Only the Sunsplash part was open and all the slides weren't. All the Golfland side of the water park was closed. They should have off season prices. If you decide to take advantage of all the other activities AND the waterpark for the day they have a pass that's $50/$51 if you buy before the day you go and $51/52 if you buy the day of. That does indeed make it a lot more worth it but they still should have off season prices. And honestly... if the prices I saw WERE off season prices and they only go up, that is crazy. CRRRRAAAAAZZZZZYYYYYYYY. I swear when I was younger you used to be able to bring in your own food. I gotta think when Covid happened and they were closed for over an entire season that they hurt so bad they stopped letting people bring their own food in? Maybe it was before that. I had not been in so long, the last time I remember going for a full day was 7 years ago, not including when I worked a cannabis event 3 years ago and attended another cannabis event there 5 ? Years ago. Just referring to the water park. I also remember way back In the day there used to be a subway. And you can't enter from the water park entrance anymore unless you go to the castle to get a wristband first. So you can't pay at the ticket counter at the water park anymore. That looks long shut down? Maybe just for off season idk. The prices are crazy and you can't bring your own food in. What about people with dietary restrictions? They'd probably get a lot more business if they let people bring their own food in. But to spend so much money to go and then spend so much more to eat, especially in this economy probably discourages people from visiting. AZ diamondbacks chase stadium started letting people bring their own food in and sales skyrocketed. I'm sure if enough people complained they'd do something. The laser tag game was lame. My gun didn't work for crap. My husbands gun and vest didn't work at all so they spend half the 10 minute game trying to get something for him to work so the never turned the lights down or turned the music on and we just walked around with lights and silence. It seems as if this place has gone up in price and down in quality. They had money to make a new slide maybe thinking that would bring more people in but I'm not sure it's really going to. But have to up charge for everything and not allow food in because they don't make enough money because Covid happened?? Okay.. The memberships they have aren't bad tho honestly. If you live close, they could definitely be worth it. They offer you a monthly pass for $19/m which gives you a discount on a pass that grants access to the water park. If you decide to pay for that, after your first year of having the monthly pass, you get the water park pass for free the next year. But how they suck you in is if you cancel ever, you'd have to do it all over again. Along time ago the membership options were way better. My kiddo was grandfathered into the old program with the old price. (which is how I know) They also sucked those people in, if they ever cancel they can never get that price back. You can't find the membership options on the app, you have to use the website. All the employees are kids. Seems like a good place to get a first time job. There are 3 different golf courses, bumper cars and boats and race carts plus the arcade and laser tag. It was a fun day but there was a lot to say and improvement that this place could get. It's old and needs a little fine tuning. Not a new waterslide ha.

Most seem to have comfortable exhibits as well. The orangutans are our favorite exhibit to visit as the four orangutans are fascinating to see up close. They can be seen wandering their yard climb on the activity's or inside avoiding the heat. The animals of Arizona section is really well done. Much more walkable than much of the rest of the zoo and provides ample shade for guests and animals. The zoo is pretty hilly in many sections including the farm and the Sahara exhibits. Be prepared to walk a lot. There are restrooms and zoo stands around, but many were closed on a Wednesday. It is a fun zoo, but definitely harder during the summer months to fully enjoy.

Drinks and food at happy hour prices, free yard games, camel rides, lots of animals are out on exhibit so get there right as they open. But remember you're here for the games food drinks and music not the animals so don't be too disappointed that they are not all out or hard to see, come back during the day for the animals. Have fun tonight! Perfect for parents or people who get up early because it runs 530pm to 830pm so you're not out partying late.
