My recent visit to AZ Automasters for an AC recharge on my 15-year-old car yielded mixed results. While the initial process was smooth and the outcome positive, an unexpected additional expense kept the experience from being truly great. My car's AC wasn't keeping up with the rising summer temperatures, prompting me to call several shops for quotes. AZ Automasters offered a competitive price, and Travis, who I spoke with on the phone, was professional and clearly explained their AC recharge process. I appreciated their ability to schedule me within two days, which was convenient. The check-in was straightforward, and their lobby was clean, offering complimentary snacks and drinks. After their diagnostic, Travis informed me there was no leak, but the AC valves were old. This was concerning, especially when, even after the recharge, the AC system's pressures weren't ideal. Given the car's age, it seemed plausible the system was nearing the end of its life. I had only budgeted for the quoted recharge, so the added cost for valve replacement was a definite drawback. However, it felt necessary to ensure the AC would work correctly. Ultimately, the work was completed in a reasonable timeframe, and thankfully, my car's AC is now blowing cold air again. If you're looking for quality, honesty and integrity, then take your vehicle to this business for your maintenance. I tool my 2005 Hyundai Tucson in and asked to have an inspection done on the hoses, belts, etc. as I am planning on making a long distance trip with this vehicle. Since I rarely drive the vehicle, with only a total of 86,600 miles on it, I felt it would be best to have everything checked out prior to setting out on the road. I explained the situation to them, as to why I was making this trip, and that I didn't want to spend any unnecessary costs but wanted to make sure the vehicle was safe to drive. When I picked up the vehicle, the manager recommended a few things be done, but when I asked if I could safely make the trip without having these things done, I was told that should not be a problem. They also topped off all of my fluids. For all of this work and time, I was charged absolutely NOTHING. I have, in the past, also had done AC work done on my 2nd vehicle, and again, the workmanship was stellar and the cost was definitely in line with the work/hours done. I requested a Tech2 automated brake bleed on my 1998 Chevy OBS Kelsey-Hayes brakes because...The hydrobooster and Master cylinder were replaced and bled in sequence but the brake light remained on even after reviewing and repeating the process several times. AZ Automasters ran a through the automated and the manual brake bleed and ran diagnostics. They advised I had wheel speed sensor codes that may possibly be another issue or brake fluid causing my brake light to come on but would need further diagnosis but did not charge me for the bleed service since my brake light is still on. So I am more than satisfied with their service. I would definitely recommend them. They were the only shop out of 7 shop who even said they had the ability to service my 1998 Kelsey-Hayes brake modulator automated bleed system too. Jeff and Doug were fantastic! I was looking thru Yelp to see if anyone open on a Sat (at 2pm!) and they closed at 3pm but told me to come right over. I had thought I needed new front brakes cause of a bad scraping sound, but they were not only honest and said it wasn't the brakes but just something that "slipped" that only cost $20bucks! But they also took the time to change my oil and such and check out the car. Couldn't believe they got me in (and out) so fast and I only spent $55 including the oil change! Customer service was wonderful, they explained everything and even told me of a few things to watch on the car (for future). I am brand new to Arizona and AZ Automasters was highly recommended by my friends and neighbors. I could see why! I got brand new brakes and rotors, and they removed the corrosion on my battery. This place is the BEST. I will never go any place else. A few months back Doug did MAJOR repair on my Buick Rendezvous and although a pricey fix, these guys were the lowest by far. I had a good experience! I came in with an ongoing AC issue that I knew would be expensive and while it still was I didn't feel overcharged. Plus, while they did mention that I should replace my serpentine belt since they were cracking on my 15 year old car, they didn't give me some scary list of everything in my car that should be fixed soon. I've had that from other mechanics and it's always felt like they're trying to guilt me into agreeing to more services. This place didn't do that. read more

Quick response to inquiry regarding brakes. They offered free inspection and I went in. Very friendly and knowledgeable office staff. Manager was respectful and explained findings completely. They could give me a ride home and replace the front brakes that afternoon. They called when it was ready and came to give me a ride back to the shop. Met and talked to the owner when I dropped off my car. it was a weekday and they were slow so one of the techs was able to give me shuttle to and from my home while my car was worked on. The owner also calls with an evaluation and estimate of cost. Hands down has the most competitive pricing.
