Setting up for practice on the range.

I absolutely loved Awesome Cycles and highly recommend their basic cycle class. (I haven't taken their advanced class yet but I'm sure it's just as good) Debbie and Chris were a fantastic (dare I say AWESOME?) team. They have two scooters and various bike types to choose from. I have a scooter but I wanted to learn on a motorcycle so I could have both skills. Learning on the bike definitely helped my overall confidence and why not use this time (and money you paid) to learn that skill instead of only practicing on a scooter? Girls, I highly recommend using one of the cruisers if you have shorter legs like me. My advice is pay attention, ask as many questions as you need to, and don't be afraid of the bike. Just have fun and you'll do great!

Called them on the phone just to try out their 24 hour hotline and Debbie picked up. I told her that I was excited to get my motorcycle license and CHL and what I referred to as my "man-training". She lit up with indignation :) and proceeded to tell me she had her CHL and Class CM license. I tried to talk myself out of driving all the way up to Kuykendahl. I am so glad she told me to take the 3 day course. It was really fun to build the camaraderie between my fellow riders. I have to recommend them to everyone now! I was really impressed with my instructor Lionel and will never forget his sentiment for teaching to the student. I learned more than just how to ride a motorcycle over the course. If you can ride a bicycle- you should take this course.:. If everyone took this course the roads would be much safer. Now my awareness behind the wheel of a car has quadrupled! I feel like a better Driver.

Most of us were experts by the time this was snapped.

Hello. I'm JB. I once wrecked two motorcycles in the span of a week and followed up those crashes with a near miss on a scooter two weeks later. According to the stats quoted in the class, most motorcycle crashes and fatalities happen due to improper cornering based or lack of skill, too much speed and rider error. All were factors in both of my crashes. Clearly I needed to improve my riding skills. I chose Awesome Cycles as the instructors for my MSF Basic RiderCourse based on the testimonials on their site and was not disappointed. The classroom instructors (Debbie & David) were veteran riders with laid back demeanors and straight forward delivery styles. Take the three day course if you're considering completing the course now as you're not out on the parking lot in the hottest part of the day. In case you are wondering, I went out for a spin after class and avoided an accident thanks to my much improved cornering skills. I didn't panic when the oncoming car stopped in the apex of the turn. Instead, I just Slowed, Looked, Pushed & Rolled...and Pushed some more. Take the class and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Recently moved from California to Houston and needed to have a Texas Driver's License for a public…read moresector requirement. This meant I needed to take a road test, as an adult with 24 yrs of driving experience, 8 yrs of military and federal "motor vehicle operator's" ID, and no Class C road test appointments available for over 2 weeks at DPS. I immediately took a look on yelp, calling the Top 3 based on most reviewed in my area. Tony of Road Ready Driving School was the only licensed third-party testing center that answered. The Road Test @ Road Ready was fairly priced and time slots were available during the week. I was nervous, but competently confident. Tony was a genuine professional, and provided excellent feedback and answers to any question I had. At the end of the Road Test, he asked me about decisions I made while driving a vehicle I'm unfamiliar with and choices I made regarding why I considered not turning right on a red when I was allowed to do so. I saw he respected the logic that if you cannot see far enough down the lane you're turning into to gauge the safety of committing to the change of vehicle position, then it's best to, in my words, "hold what you've got, and commit when it is safe to do so." When my children are ready for official non-parental driving lessons, Tony is the only person I'm gladly calling because I know they will not only learn a thing or two, but also gain the confidence in the decisions they make and the reason behind their choices. Tony, it was an absolute pleasure, if we have to re-certify every year, I'd book you years in advance. 10/10 Would Recommend. Cheers. DRN

KC, Larry and Tony gave me lessons over the course of 9 months to prepare me with basic skills and help grow my confidence on the road. We started with no gas in a parking lot and slowly progressed to road driving. I found each of the instructors to be patient, courteous and knowledgeable. Lessons were always easy to schedule and Amanda at the front desk was helpful when any changes needed to be made. Prior to taking the test, Tony helped me perfect my parallel parking skills and took me on the test route multiple times to help me feel at ease. He also gave me encouragement day of the test to calm the nerves. I passed on my first try! Overall, I could not recommend this school more and will forever be grateful to them for helping me reach this milestone.

HORRIBLE ORGANIZATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!…read more They will get your money and then it's virtually impossible to get everything that you need from them. A checklist that includes a timeline would be extremely beneficial for us. Apparentl, Ms. Weatherspoon is the ONLY one that can do ANYTHING there however...yep you guessed it...she's NEVER THERE!! The phone stays on the answering machine. My advise to you is to GO ELSEWHERE. For almost $600.00, I expected more from this group of unprofessional people. Yes my child did get his DL however it was a very stressful situation and for the amount that we pay up front, I shouldn't have been this inconvenienced Nor treated so unprofessional. If you advertise opening at 10, be available to help your customers at the time posted, especially the ones who have paid already.

All I had to do was show up on time, present my paperwork, take the in-car test, and that was it. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I'd recommend this place to anyone who needs to take the road skills/ in-car test. There's no point in taking it at DPS when you can easily do it here. They supply the car whereas at DPS you have to supply the car. This is your best bet.
