He is an expert in state codes and regulations. His experience and knowledge is unmatched! Mr. Ross is committed to student safety and success. Aaron, a level 3/LTC/requal/firearms/CPR instructor, is a 20+ year military veteran and overseas contractor who offers a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about teaching. The classroom environment is very engaging with detailed explanations. This academy also offers a basic pistol class for those who are not familiar with weapon handling or are not confident about going to the range to qualify. The basic pistol class includes basic marksmanship, grip, stance, sights, trigger pull, clearing a malfunction, loading magazines, and understanding your weapon. The learning experience is both fun and serious but enough to put you at ease and feel confident. Mr. Berry, the PPO/ level 3/requal/LTC instructor is very thorough in his teaching and ensures no questions go unanswered. He offers a plethora of knowledge and shares his experiences to give the class more insight. Along with the other instructors, Mr. Berry is passionate about what he does and cares about the future of the students in the security industry. He treats all students like family and will assist in help even years after completing the course. You can call around, but the prices for the classes can't be beat. READ THIS TELL THEM "COYOTE" SENT YOU!!!! After getting medically discharged from the military I couldn't work for a while while I was healing. I decided to pick up my Security license and start doing security. I contacted Todd about the classes and he walked me through it when I knew nothing about the industry. I committed to classes and showed up not knowing what to expect. To my delight there were free snacks, word of advice free snacks go a long way. We started the class with about 12 individuals all from different backgrounds but with the same goal creating a classic team-building environment. During the mundane "state-required training" we were presently entertained by jokes to break the ice between us by Leonard, one of the class instructors. He's a good guy and means well but hes like the red headed step child..... hard to love. Very informative these guys have been doing this for a long time and it shows. Couldn't ask for any better. Thanks to this course and people getting me my level 4 "personal protection officer" license I found an easy way into the industry. In the past 6 months, I've done security wearing a suit, uniformed officer, and civilian clothes with a concealed firearm. I have also recommended multiple friends to this company, they have taken the classes saying the same thing as this review "just not a witty as me" but are doing well in their current jobs. Security Tactics Academy is known for preparing students to be security officers. Levels 2-4 to be exact. The educational experience was great. I still communicate with the instructor that I had when I have questions about my profession. All the material they provide is true and follow the guidelines of the state. The classroom approach was interesting. I could tell the instructor had a passion for what he was teaching. As a class we went through real life experiences with well staged scenarios that was corespondent with the training material. The instructor is very smug he has an attitude that clearly states "I'm better than you, even if I'm wrong I'm right" if he makes a mistake and you bring it to his attention he's going to become rude and tell you that you can get out. Had I not already paid, I would most definitely have walked out and taken my business elsewhere. I can't wait to get these few classes over so that I can be done with this company and their pissy instructor.
