I've gone to the gun range on my own to get comfortable shooting and holding a gun. Mr. Mike's LTC…read moreclass was recommend by my sister who'd taken his course. Myself along with my partner and family members took his course today and it was very well worth it. The amount of knowledge, security, quality, and education you will get, that I got, from this course is well worth every dime spent. Completing the course to become LTC I now feel very comfortable being able to protect myself. This is more than just an LTC course. You learn other ways to protect yourself as well (man and woman). I along with the class felt very comfortable asking questions. The instructor is very knowledgeable about the gun laws. Due to Covid-19 being a concern everyone wore masks the entire class period including the instructor. We all had to wash our hands upon entry. There was plenty of hand sanitizer for use throughout the class session as well. The environment was very clean and relaxing. Gun Range: You will go to the range to practice at the end of the course. No need to worry if you do not own a firearm. That is taken care of. The instructor was very clear on his instructions and ensuring you listened. But you do need to listen. This is not a joke. Firing a gun you need to practice safety at all times. Follow his instructions and you will have the aim for your target down like me . So if you want to learn how to unbutton someone's shirt when you are in danger I highly recommend this class. You don't get it now about the "unbutton" but you will. Well.....what are u waiting for....go sign up!!!

I had an excellent experience with Ted Tarver for my LTC shooting qualification. Ted was…read moreprofessional, on time, and extremely organized from start to finish. He made the entire process smooth and straightforward, which helped take a lot of the pressure off during the proficiency test. Safety was clearly his top priority, and he took the time to explain proper technique, positioning, and what to expect on the range. His instructions were calm, clear, and easy to follow, which really helped build my confidence. The session was efficient but never rushed, and he made sure everything was done correctly. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and professional LTC instructor in the Richmond/Houston area, I highly recommend Ted Tarver. Overall, it was a great experience.

I was extremely nervous when we started and he was wonderful! He calmed my nerves, gave me a refresher on appropriate safety protocols - taught me how to be a responsible individual with an LTC. The online course is incredibly well done and truly taught me areas of the law I was not aware of. I would not want to carry my firearm regularly without this course!!!

The course director is a retired police officer named Austin, and he is very intelligent, funny,…read moreand instructive. He is very good at developing confidence with people who are afraid of guns as well and those who aren't. The purpose of the course is to practice being in a situation where you might (or not) have to legally shoot someone, so you can develop familiarity with your fight/flight response, tactical positioning, how to talk with 911 and not get shot when the police arrive. He uses a computer and projector to create interactive scenarios to mimic plausible real world situations. We had three people in our course, and we were able to run five scenarios. Maximum was six people, but I think three was about right. He also gave recommendations on flashlight and pepper spray use. Attended this course after a $5 preview course sponsored by US Law Shield.

You would think it's a somewhat automated process but there are people manually doing things that hold up your progress. The quality of the course is okay if you like ai videos reading bullet points off to you and then watching content not even made by the instructor but ripped from someone else. I would recommend paying an extra 10 dollars for a more polished experience. If this is all you can afford it'll get the job done.
