After going through countless phone calls and online searches, I found Meng's Martial Arts. Facility is clean, spacious and well maintained. Plenty of room for students to exercise and learn. Diverse class and Sifu Ryan usually has an extra set of helpers/assistants to assist the students. The staff is very attentive and gives a lot of emotional and physical support. The Tiny Tiger program (ages 4-7 I think) meet 3 times a week, for 45 minutes which I believe is great in addition to their reasonable prices! The class is more than just being physical and learning self defense. My son has learned to be more respectful and disciplined, to have more self control and awareness. His attitude has changed so much, and he's made new friends! Parents are more than welcome to lounge around in the lobby, or sit on the sidelines and observe the class. He teaches all the classes and it is easy to see he lives taekwondo. It does not seem like a business to him, but his life. This gym is not easy. It should not be if you want to get better at martial arts. He will not just pass students to other belts until they are actually ready, unlike many gyms. Students are well behaved as he pays a lot of attention to his students and teaching. The gym is clean, staff are all friendly, and they have many classes at different times, to fit busy schedules. My kids were both already black belts and we all had 5 years taekwondo experience before we had to move to katy.
