I do, however, have the pickiest 2.5 year old possibly on the planet and even HE approves of the super muffins! Awesome Bites is one of my favorite vegan places in Houston and definitely my favorite vegan dessert place, especially their cupcakes!! My husband and I go almost every Friday for Cupcake Friday to see what unique flavor combinations they'll think of next. We also love getting nitro coffee n'ice cream floats, tea floats, banana splits,a their super muffins. Occasionally, they'll have cake slices, which are also amazing! I absolutely love this place. The definition of magical. It's my daughters and me favorite Friday morning adventure (because we live in Fulshear). She LOVES their lemon blueberry muffin. Which is a plus because not only is there no added sugar, its naturally sweetened with yellow squash, apples, pears, dates, and coconut. They even have a sheet layed out of all the fruits and veggies in every muffin. We like going Fridays for the cupcakes. The chocolate cupcake is amazing. I can't believe it's made without any refined sugar, dairy or eggs. But my favorite so far has been the toasted pineapple. Honestly, I wish I would have bought more. The best cupcake EVER. She recently made a guava cupcake and I brought one home and my boyfriend was in love. He said it tasted like home and then proceeded to shove the whole cupcake in his mouth! You can't go wrong with this place, even their dairy free N'ice cream is amazing. The lavender, awesome day, and lemon strawberry are my top 3. Three years! Yes, finally at age 3, this little girl has her first ice cream cone that not only promised to be suitable to my daughter's dietary restrictions, it was extremely delightful in taste. So many times, we have had to say "no" to ice cream and other treats, but Awesome Bites is one of the rare places where we can let our daughter choose anything on the menu without worrying how she will react to anything she decides to eat from their kitchen. Awesome Bites is absolutely fabulous regardless of whether or not you have food allergies. If you do have them, they have some of the best dessert alternatives I have ever tasted! The Chocotaco is hands down my favorite followed by the Cookie Monsta Sundae! The staff are always friendly and the decor immensely cheerful. They make me smile every time. Also, they explain their products very well and seem very aware of how allergies can affect people's lives. They also have a fun assortment of allergy-friemdly food items you can use to cook at home. The only drawback in Houston is the cute but outdoor patio. I enjoy eating there except during the summer when Houston is an oven. I would be so delighted if they opened a larger location with indoor and outdoor seating. LOVE LOVE LOVE! It's a cute shop with some outdoor seating. Plenty of parking in the parking lot as it's located in a square with other eateries. Everything in this store is vegan. I got the chocolate olive oil on a cone and it was amazing. I tried a sample of the lavender earl grey and will be getting that next time. They have cupcakes with funky flavors every friday so I would love to try that as well next time! Looking forward to coming back for sure. read more

UPDATE - If you were to read the review response by Jennifer, the owner of Awesome Bites, and then read her other responses to people with subpar experiences, you would realize who the real bully is in these situations. Several other people have had similar experiences where their dessert order fell through, leaving them without their desserts for a party. Her review is full of many lies. She is chastising me as well for not ordering my own desserts for my own baby shower. She mentions that I came into the store to pick up the desserts so therefore how could I be angry, but the person who picked them up was very clearly not pregnant and not me. Jennifer and the team are not holding themselves accountable and have been extremely demeaning. Jennifer, the owner, never reached out to me directly. My emails and calls have gone unanswered, but she responds to negative Google/Yelp reviews within a half hour of submission. Instead of treating a customer with respect, she degrades, demeans, and tries to play the victim when all in all, I simply wanted desserts I could eat at my own baby shower and my team at work tried to accomplish that and failed due to Jennifer and her business. I asked that since they won't refund us, they donate the gift card amount to a child with food allergies/intolerances, and they still have yet to do that. We still have an unused $150 store credit for products we paid for in compliance with the rules. Cupcakes we never received. Also, her first review response to me had to be taken down by Yelp because she blatantly included tons of personal information about myself and my team at work which was determined to be a privacy violation by Yelp. She still posted the review with the continual lies that she knows are false. She is ruthless, rude, and unwilling to put the customers first. read more

We love Awesome Bites! Everything is always so fresh and of course gluten free and not full of junk. I love the donuts. And the cupcakes are so good too. I don't eat a lot of ice cream but one of the vegan sundae options has a freshly made and toasted marshmallow on it. It's so yummy! I like to order via the Instagram page and then pick up the following day. That way I'm not disappointed if they've run out of my favorite items. And the service is very good there too. The muffins here are a safe bet for anyone to eat since they are vegan and free of common ingredients that cause allergic reactions. They are also not overly sweet like traditional muffins - we like to buy a bunch of them at one time to devour ourselves, gift to parents and friends and freeze for quick access snacks (they thaw very well). This place is definitely a heaven paradise if you're looking to treat yourself with a yummy, allergen-free, best ingredients treat! I'm personally lactose intolerant and allergic to gluten, and there's no bigger satisfaction for me than to find a full allergy-friendly bakery that has several different things to offer and not just only one or two desserts that fit my allergy requirements just like every other dessert place out there.
