Good food. Pricey but good! Make a reservation to get in on the weekend. Great place to take family and friends in town visiting.

Had brunch here today and it was amazing! We ordered a mimosa carafe. Which was good it just came in this awkward to pour extra tall glass. I had the steak skillet. It was phenomenal! All in all this is an amazing brunch spot in Addison area. Definitely recommend! read more

This was ok breakfast. I got the French toast it was a decent amount of food but I have had better. The coffee was ok as well.

Always delicious. Sometimes wait staff can be a little slow, but it also seems like they're massively overworked when it's busy.

Came here for breakfast on a weekend morning, all the restaurants had an hour wait and people outside. This place did not so we were actually kinda weary when we pulled up but we were hungry so let's try it out.. we got sat right away, greeted right away, and food came out fairly quick. We were super happy about our choice because not only was the food good-- it was super affordable read more

Love this place and usually work in a visit when in Dallas. I like the atmosphere and the servers' friendliness. Located on a small plaza, there is ample parking. I had the Crab Cake Benedict because what is not to love about crab cakes, tomatoes, Hollandaise sauce, and poached eggs. Interesting combination of flavors and textures. Very good according to my tummy. My chosen side was unfortunately grits: runny and no flavor. My guess is they were of the instant variety. Adding some butter, salt, and pepper helps the taste but they are still swimming in too much liquid. My wife went with the traditional Benedict with the seasoned ranch potatoes. The entrée was very well prepared and full of flavor. On the other hand, the potatoes were not fully cooked. Some pieces were nicely golden brown and appropriately soft on the inside but most were very close to raw. I mentioned this to our server and she said we should have specified crunchy. What? Anyway, not a deal breaker as all our other visits have been excellent. read more

The food was decent and the service was certainly adequate. Hate to sound blunt but it tasted like so many other breakfast/brunch restaurants that it didn't feel to have much originality or uniqueness to it. read more

Delicious and filling. The Egg-ceptional Omelette (first picture) looks basic but is very hearty and pairs well with the seasoned breakfast potatoes (substituted for no charge) and English muffins, which were TOASTED and yum. Friends had the Parisian Benedict (2nd picture) and the Patriot Waffle (3rd picture) which was very well received. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us decide on the menu. He came often, but was never overbearing. Was able to navigate a hangry patron with lots of grace and patience. Parking was easy and the lot had plenty of spaces. Walk-in only (no reservations) -- but we were seated quickly despite it being a Sunday morning. read more

While most restaurants that I have ordered from are doing their part to ensure food is safe and packed appropriately for delivery, this is how I received my orange juice. On top of that, the delivery driver carried it by the lid. Disgusting. They could at least put a closed lid on it. read more

Update: The Egg & I did communicate with me, did offer to invite us back with a complimentary meal, but the last three visits were not pleasant. So we turned them down. We are simply done, sorry guys, but thanks for having a good customer service department. Yes two stars, the food is usually pretty decent, the service is OK, but, when you try to pass of Salty Chicken Stock Gravy like you would put into a pot pie, I draw the line. I am Southern, I am not a fan of chicken gravy on anything but chicken, even then not so salty you can't eat it. I want real cream gravy sausage, not some cheap imitation low grade slat cream. You sit down in the south and you order Biscuits and Sausage Gravy you expect a Cream Gravy made with at minimum, Milk, Flour and Sausage... MAYBE a touch of corn starch as a thickener. NOT Pot Pie Filler Stock with Flour and Sausage. It is disgusting. Now I have been... correction I was a fan of the Egg and I for the last several years. Eating their with my date(s) or whomever for breakfast. There was a time when they had really good cream gravy. But over the last year I guess, they have had this disgusting salty chicken stock sauce with sausage. I was tole originally that they ran our of the cream gravy, and their truck wasn't due in until later in the week the first item... OK, but still sent that back. Then again, the cook had made it rather than the cream gravy, still sent that back. Then Again with the running out, and I even asked when it would be a good time to gt there to get ';real gravy for my biscuits', yeah, truck needed to come in etc. This last time, I made sure to ask the waitress (who all but totally ignored us the whole time), to please check on the gravy BEFORE I got it. If it was Chicken Stock based I DID NOT WANT IT. She went back there, 15 minutes later she came out, stopped by said it was cream gravy. Then a minute later our order was on the table. Guess what color the gravy was? URINE YELLOW, It was chicken stock gravy. I complained to the manager about it, he was just the polite side of curt, and his expression was one of 'OMFG WHO CARES.' He literally rolled his eyes as he walked away from the table, mumbling something. My partner and I finished our meal, WITHOUT the CHICKEN LARD AND BISCUITS, then she and I paid and left. I will not be going back. I feel they intentionally lied to us as customers, they showed little or no concern for our dislike of the 'new' food items and we both felt totally unwelcome after the managers eye and facial expressions. read more

Think Marie Calendars but better and friendlier service. Ordered a denver omelette from "hannah banana." Place was hopping, and we had fast service. Grits DO NOT get I was told. Not that good. I had the Huevos Rancheros. They were ok. Nothing spectacular. They had juice, like First Watch. I think I like the ones at First Watch better. But don't let them sit you near the planter. There were ants coming out of that thing. It was so gross. If we had seen that before, we would have left immediately. But it was only after we were nearly finished and about to ask for the check, that we saw them. We ended up killing around 10 of them before we could get our check. Ugh! I don't like to think of bugs when I am eating. The association is now in my brain for this place. So we most definitely will not be coming back. read more

Service was excellent. Food was quick. I got huevos rancheros. Not sure if salsa was actually fresh ingredients but the eggs were great and we loved the well seasoned ranch potatoes. Ice coffee came flavored (hazel nut) instead of just ice with coffee like most places so I appreciated that. Overall nice clean place and liked among locals. Will def come back when in town again. read more

This is my kind of breakfast place. I wish it were closer to home! Very simple, it is very clean, the service is wonderfully friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. I have to say that one of my measurements for a good breakfast is homemade corned beef hash. Here, they do a great job with it. So, if you are a local you probably already know this place. If you are from out of the area and are looking for a good place to eat, I think you will like this place. Check it out! read more

Let me start by saying feta cheese + eggs is a heavenly combination. I had a most delicious mediterranean omelette that had feta plus sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and I don't quite remember what else but that thing was packed full of yummy goodness!! Also, iced tea comes in a carafe! I came here with my cousin, aunt, and uncle a week or two ago and it was the perfect middle ground choice between Dallas and Frisco. Wasn't tooo crowded either, but I went ahead and put my name on the call ahead list, so we were seated shortly after our arrival. Service was good but two weird things I noticed were 1) ice spilled by one of the waiters on the carpet was there a WHILE before it was cleaned up, one of the (many) older patrons might have slipped and 2) the waiter didn't really ever stop by to refill water glasses. He came by to check on us and asked us if there was anything we needed, but didn't pick up on the empty glasses. If you like eggs, this is your place. But if you don't, you'll be set too. The menu has tons of tasty stuff to choose from!! read more

We went here for a family breakfast one weekend -- there were probably 8 of us. I called ahead to make sure we'd get seated, and they were SO NICE about it. I mean, they thanked ME for calling ahead. That was definitely icing on the cake. We got there and they had a table all ready for us - our waiter was Sicilian, which we had to inquire about later on, because we couldn't pick out his accent. He was very friendly, but decided that by asking his nationality, we were also asking for a history of the country. And he went into detail about Sicily and its people. Which was a little awkward. He was sweet, though. Maybe a little over the top, but very nice. And very knowledgeable. I had the Greek Fritatta, and it was outta sight. All of our dishes looked awesome, and we really enjoyed ourselves. I'll be going back here again, for sure! read more

I ordered the Taos skillet yesterday for breakfast with 2 poached eggs. Diced potatoes and chicken covered in corn, black beans, salsa, guac, cheese and sour cream with two runny eggs on top? Yes, please. However, there was an uninvited guest. A little bit of shell was mixed in to the meal. I didn't mind. . .it's just freaking shell and a small bit at that, so I picked out the offending pieces and continued to feast. When the server came to clear our plates I made a passing comment about the shell. This is how customer service is done, so take notes (especially YOU, BJ's Brewhouse). The waitress immediately ran to get the manager. He grabbed the plate and told me he would have a fresh one brought out and my meal would be comped. I had eaten 95% of the meal and not only did they want to comp me, BUT also give me a completely new meal! I said no to the extra plate but still got the meal for free. You can bet I'll probaby be back next Sunday! Great job! read more

Cute indeed! I liked the feeling of this restaurant. Went on a Sunday around 9, and surprise! No wait. I guess we were a bit early. Yay for us. We were seated immediately and I ordered the Hiker's benedict. That 2 poached eggs on 2 english muffins halves with diced ham, asparagus, mushrooms, (tomatoes if you want, the server told me they were raw, so I passed) with dill hollandaise sauce and topped with 2 slices of bacon. This was a GORGEOUS presentation. All the colors and fresh looking veggies, the table next to us was looking over and when I made eye contact they told me they had food envy and asked what I ordered. I win! These were served in a skillet on a plate, and the plate had potatoes. I'm a sucker for breakfast potatoes, but these left a lot to be desired. Greasy, and floppy, bluh. I want crispy magic. Sad. The benedict was really good though. And that bacon on top was crisp/tender/chewy, and very much perfect. My friend had the wisconsin scramble that just looked like really cheesy, fluffy, uh, scrambled eggs. Not really my cup of tea. He got a side of that perfect bacon, some toast and the potatoes, but his looked somewhat better than my spuds. All in all, a winner in my book. I look forward to coming back and trying out more menu items! read more

Let me preface this with saying we will probably go back to give them a 2nd shot... On our search for the best Egg's Benedict, my boyfriend and I decided to try out The Egg & I. Knowing we were going to be eating a huge dinner later, we decided to just split the Egg's Benedict and get some toast on the side. Potatoes: EXCELLENT Coffee: Really good Eggs Benedict: Really runny...we've had better...MUCH better... Service: Fine So...we really want to give it a 2nd try and maybe get different things on the menu. I just don't understand how any place with the word "Egg" in the name of the restaurant could mess up Eggs Benedict like that. As soon as you cut in to the egg, the yolk practically spewed out all over the plate. It's supposed to be more "syrupy" egg yolk for EB. They did have a pretty good coffee selection, which is a big plus for us coffee addicts. Our server was fairly attentive, but it really bugs me when you ask for a suggestion on something and the server says "I don't know--I don't really (drink coffee/eat eggs/like our food/eat breakfast)" If you don't have an opinion, tell us what the majority of people like. It's not hard to say "If you're looking for ____ and really like ____, you'll probably enjoy _____." Saying "I don't know--I don't like coffee" isn't really an acceptable answer. /tangent I'm sure we'll go back--I have to give places another chance. Hopefully, I can bump it up a * or 2 next time. read more

To be honest, this was my last choice for brunch BUT I'm sooo glad we came to The Egg & I. The food was so good and it's a very cozy restaurant. Our waitress was super sweet, she said she usually works in the kitchen so she wasn't used to waitressing but she did an awesome job by being attentive and making us feel comfortable. Will 10/10 recommend and make this my 1st choice next time! Definitely an underrated brunch spot. The only thing that would make it better is if they had mimosas ;) read more

I must admit that I didnt have high expectations. When I drove up, I noticed that the place was situated inside of a shopping center and there was a bit of construction going on as well. So i must admit that the curbside appeal wasnt there. This has absolutely nothing to do with how the food could possibly taste. I'm just simply mentioning my first impressions. However I will say this... from being used to brunching in uptown, I was grateful for free and ample parking this time around LOL. We were a party of seven and had reservations by noon. We were seated promptly and given menus. Of course, I had already took a look at the menu beforehand. I decided on the Vive La France French toast. I got the breakfast potatoes instead of eggs. I also got sausage. Our food came out in a timely manner and our waiter, Diego was did a good job. I will post a picture in the gallery but let me tell you that my two slices of French toast were huge. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall portion of not only my plate but everyone else's at the table. Everything was delicious and exceeded my expectation. Also the price point for the food was excellent. I was a little disappointed that they did not serve mimosas, but I understand that this is not that type of establishment. However when I hear the words brunch, mimosas definitely come to mind. Overall, if you are looking for good country style breakfast or lunch items in a family friendly environment, I would recommend this place. read more

This place is so great. I first met the Egg and I in Fort Collins, CO and I'm SOOO happy it has found its way so far south. The service is prompt and attentive, even though I've seen a large party in their private room every time I've been here. They even have a nice patio for a sunny breakfast. And of course, the menu is loaded with breakfast favorites and lunch tastiness. Their frittatas, omelettes and skillet bakes really shine. Last time I inhaled a warm, eggy concotion of potatoes, cheese ham and a little pinch of heaven. For an added treat, get their bosenberry smoothie, sweetened with honey. OMG! Garden Frittata!!! SERIOUSLY GOOD FOOD! So, of course you know I like the Garden Frittata. I had that on my last (er, first) visit to the Egg & I restaurant and it made me fall in love with the place. Not to mention, they have amazing Ranch Potatoes, perfectly crisp and buttered wheat toast, great coffee and snappy service. My buddy had the Breakfast Croissant sandwich... it was HUGE, and of course, it looked delicious with melty cheese and fluffy eggs. It came with the Ranch Potatoes, too. After surveying their menu, I'll be back for sure!!! They had so many choices that sounded perfect for every breakfast/brunch occasion like the Wisconsin Scramble (since I hail from Wisconsin, I'll have to try this), the Texas Skillet, the Spinach Bacon Mushroom Omelette, and Baja Breakfast Tacos. And when I feel like egg whites I'll try the Egg Byte Omelette. So many choices. When it came to the coffee, I was also pleasantly surprised. My buddy only drinks decaf and I only drink regular and I thought the two would taste completely different. Not the case. The decaf actually tasted pretty good. I asked the server what kind of coffee it was and it's just a Costa Rican blended coffee. They must have magic in their brewing machines to make it taste so good. read more

It was QUITE good. Managed to roll myself out of bed, and away from my crazy soccerfail dream to have breakfast with friends out in Plano. It was well worth the twenty minute drive! The two coffees I tried today were the Hazelnut and the Chocolate-Macadamia [one of their specials]. Both were very aromatic, and I appreciated the unbitterness and richness of the former; sadly, the Choco-Macadamia was a bit watery for me..but I will admit I'm no diviner of coffee nor am I usually a frequent drinker. The menu. Is an egg-lover's fairytale ball. Some of the things that immediately caught my eye were the Frittatas, pancake/waffle/french toast options, the traffic jam crepe eggs, and the Athena scramble. And that was first glance! I know I WILL be back to try the whole delicious menu, but today I settled on the Egg-Ceptional Omelette. I tacked on an a la carte french toast to my order, and requested that the sour cream come on the side. Our waitress, by the by, was totally nice. I am the most finicky person, but she had no problem switching out coffee flavors for me just so I could try the specialty blend, and when asked what the 'Havarti dill cheese' was [which adorns the traffic jam crepe eggs], she brought out a ramekin of the stuff in shreds for us to try! Genius idea, that stuff. The food came out and I was impressed with the portions. I can definitely attest to the french toast's girth...and by that I mean, they give you a whole square, thickass slice. This, compared to IHOP's teensy triangle accounting for 'one slice', is a welcome relief. Though I prefer my FT a bit more egg-crispy on the edges, that's just me being picky, and it was finger-lickin good on their part. Eggs were also delish. Packed full of meat, MMMMportabella and veggies...happy clam is me! I added the extra Havarti shavings to the underside of my omelette, where they could melt and be suffused with the rest. I recommend it! The bite of my friend's traffic jam crepe eggs was also buonifique. I am falling in love with spinach as a breakfast guest! With Benedict varietals, a southwestern/mexican eggs section, and the cakier side of breakfast still to try, I could be an Egg & I fiend for a good while...and then there's still lunch to conquer! Can anyone say tuna melt?? read more

On my last visit I tried the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fine, but there were little beans in the gravy. BEANS?!? I've never seen that before, and I didn't really like it. Next time, I'm sticking with egg dishes. Sugar Bear had pancakes and thought they were delish! His preference is still Cafe Brazil for breakfast because he likes the coffee bar over the carafe. I personally think the food is better at The Egg and I, but he and I both agree that the service at this establishment is MUCH better than Cafe Brazil. read more

I'm not really a huge breakfast fan and eggs have always been a little on the boring side to me. I probably seem pretty foolish bringing myself to a place with "egg" in the name then, but the Yelp reviews convinced me to give it a shot. In all, a good breakfast, but not the best I have ever had. It is a chain but is advertised as "locally owned" so you chain snobs (*points finger at self*) can feel a little better about going there. I had the MBA Frittata. The frittata is a nice option because they serve it up in a little ceramic ramekin which helps keep your food hot the entire time. MBA stands for Mushroom (portabella), Bacon, and Asparagus. Seems they should have thrown a "C" on there for cheese though, cuz this thing was loaded with it. Not just any cheese though, "Havarti dill cheese." It was well executed overall but I'll be sure to try something else next time. I would definitely order it with extra tomato next time, as the amount that normally comes with it is a mere tease, but adds a lot to the dish. The side of ranch potatoes are nice, but predictable. The sausage patties I ordered on the side were heavy with sage and a little rubbery. I like mine to normally have a little crisp on the outside from the hot griddle. These failed. The menu is huge (well, not Cheesecake Factory huge, but enough to be overwhelming.) There are many interesting looking options that I will be trying next time like "French toast stuffed with sausage, eggs, and cheese." That may be a disaster, but I'm willing to take that chance. My main gripe is the price. $15 dollar for the frittata, OJ, and sausage. With the tip it was over $17. OUCH! I can get a breakfast just as good for $7 elsewhere, so this may keep me from coming back for a while. read more

Wanted to try a new place for breakfast, found this place on Yelp, and decided to try it. This was a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. The hostess team was great - while we were waiting, I observed Alexis keeping an eye on the door ready to offer an assist to anyone who needed help getting in, i.e. lots of older folks that needed mobility assistance - and kept us updated on where we were in the queue. We're a family of five with a wheelchair user in our group. We're used to waiting, but we always appreciate when someone lets us know that we've not been forgotten. The great service continued all the way through our meal. Our server was funny, prompt, and helpful. He noticed that one of my son's juice glasses was empty before I did and made sure to get him another beverage quickly. He gave us the perfect amount of time to choose our food but didn't leave us waiting and didn't rush us either. Our meal was well-paced even though they'd benefit from turning tables as fast as they can. And the food. YUMMY! The waffle was probably the best I've ever had. Light & fluffy, and I could taste the egg in the batter. I like that in my pancakes & waffles. Eggs over medium for the four of us that ordered eggs were done to perfection. Bacon was a perfect combination of crispy & chewy. My hubby's breakfast burrito with the green chili was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were well-seasoned. My daughter had the whole wheat pancake with granola & apples. It was HUGE & delicious with a big dollop of cinnamon butter to spread over the top. She used syrup but wouldn't have needed it. It tasted great on its own. Orange juice was fresh-squeezed with no sugar added. Yummy! We'll definitely go back. There are other things on the menu that looked tasty that we'd like to try. It looks like the sweet spot for a shorter wait on the weekends is 8-10AM. When we left at 11:30, the wait looked like it was pushing 30-45 minutes. read more
