I'd give a 0 but can't! Had reserved a car on the lot on south 75 but when called ahead they had n cars. Called reservation # and they had a Corolla in the Plano lot. Reserved the car for Sunday 11, because they closed at noon and return eod on Wednesday. Showed up and they did not have the car but had a truck. I said fine, even though I'd be paying more in fuel. Just rec'd a call from the store to confirm I needed to drop it off by 11, because that's when I picked it up, or be charged another day. Every time I've rented from Avis this year I've been overcharged. I contact customer support and they don't want to take calls so they make you open a ticket on their website, but they never respond to it. If you take their survey to complain about an issue you get two corporate randoms email you saying they want to help, but if even if you respond to them multiple times, they will never email you back. They only send the initial generic email claiming they want to help. Honestly, this is probably the best Avis location I've been to but that's not saying much when the corporation behind it is so messed up and unwilling to resolve their mistakes. read more

I had a confirmed reservation for pick up 11/20 at 4:30pm at Avis. I arrived after a 45 minute uber ride to the Avis at the Beaumont TX Airport. Tyler the counter help refused to give me a car. He stated he was holding the cars he had for real customers for 11/21 & for me to call Hertz. I gave him my reservation number & showed him my Avis app with the reservation on it and my confirmation email. He said it looked faked and I must have been scammed. I am now stranded at the Beaumont airport with no where to go and no vehicle because all the car rental places are closed for the night. Tyler could care less & I am not even going to say what i think of this . I called Avis & they said they're in the Carribean and cannot call Avis locations. I am a preferred customer & that means absolutely nothing. I am telling you now never rent from Avis!!!! I am so angry & infuriated I cannot explain. Avis Zero Stars! Unscrupulous Business Practices! I rented a vehicle at this location in August 3-7, 2023. The reservation was conducted on line and confirmed with a confirmation number. Upon arrival and check in, the counter help (Indian American) began to question how I was able to get the discount rate on my reservation. I responded, it's a corporate rate that my company uses when reserving a vehicle in advance on line to guarantee the rate. He further questioned where I was employed, which I shared and presented my company identification. He then proceeded to search my company's name on his phone stating, "AVIS corporate is requiring additional proof to release the car." I advised I travel all across the country and internationally renting vehicles for work and I have NEVER been interrogated about my company's discount. I told him we can call my company now and that's when he replied, "never mind" and released the vehicle to me. I returned the vehicle a day early (Sunday) and dropped the key and completed return paperwork noting the date/time of return, gas mileage (full) and ending odometer mileage. On Monday, I received a text message confirming the vehicle had been checked in successfully. Approximately, 3 days later the location reported to corporate that the vehicle smelled of smoke and I would be assessed $450 for cleaning. Upon receipt of the letter, I contacted AVIS corporate directly and advised that no one smoked or had been around anyone smoking. I also advised after reading other reviews that this was an attempt to EXTORT additional money from me because he was upset about the discount rate I received, and what he reported was an outright lie! Thankfully, AVIS agree and denied the claim. I will continue to rent from AVIS but NEVER at the Plano, TX location. read more

We were experiencing a grinding noise with the back right tire so we went in to get it checked as well as get a different car cause this squeaky noise was unbearable. As they go out to the car they want to go and inspect and when we first got it there was a scratch on the back left bumper but the little dude at the desk wants to say it's our fault and wants to make up pay. The car came dirty as well as scuffed in multiple places to begin with. That's there problem not ours. Greedy little assholes at this place let me tell you. Don't come here if you don't like arguing. Rented a vehicle from Budget Car Rental on 75 in Plano; Throughout a 7 day period my discover credit card has authorizations totaling over $2,600; Called the office in Plano during the rental term to modify the rental duration & was told could only accomplish this by contacting Budget Corporate, I called several times & was on hold for almost one hour & still never reached anyone; The entire experience was completely unacceptable & the ability to change modify or extend the duration of the rental term was not possible; I still have active credit card authorizations for over $1,700 greater than the cost of the vehicle rental; Completely unacceptable; I do not encourage anyone to use this location or this company after this recent experience & there are so many other options available. read more

I have been on the phone over an hour trying to get Assistance with Avis for this location. I spoke to over 6 different Agents, getting transferred over and over again. The car I received was very dirty. The cargo space has a ton of dirt and grass. It's more of the inconvenience that I am not out of having to go and get the car cleaned. Plus, I am trying to make sure I don't get changed thus $250 cleaning fee others have talked about below. I don't have any faith with their customer service or this location. Also, the audio in the car they gave me only worked 10% of the time. I could not turn it on no matter which buttons I pressed. Even if I plugged my phone in to use Apple Music the sound was not working. That was worse then the car being dirty. I would not rent from Avis or this location. I would give this Avis location ZERO stars if it was allowed!! I was charged a $250.00 cleaning fee! They claim the car was dirty upon return, I strongly disagree. The car only needed vacuuming and routine cleaning. It was raining while we were in Texas so a little dirt in the floorboards is expected. $250 to vacuum the car, I don't think so!! THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM AVIS HAS GOING ON! I want a refund and I'll go all the way to the top of Avis to get it. We rent cars from Avis around 50 times a year as my husband travels for work and uses Avis. We will no longer use this crooked company for rentals. This is not ok! Very helpful and friendly. Open until noon on Sundays. This is not only AVIS but also BUDGET since they merged. I rented a 12 passenger van to take my daughter and friends to a festival. The van was newer with 24k miles on it. As an Amazon Prime member, I was able to get a discount on the rental going through Prime. read more

This location has lots to be desired. I was driving an Avis car and was shopping across the highway (I could literally see their sign) when I was locked out of my rental because the battery in the key had apparently died. My dog was also locked inside the car. I called their office and asked if they could help me get a new battery and was told they couldn't help me and to call their Roadside Assistance number and wait an hour for them to arrive. When I returned the car I was hit with a $250 cleaning fee despite having vacuumed it thoroughly before returning. Add that to the $600 drop off fee I was already paying, I could have bought the damn car outright. read more

Will never rent here again. I declined insurance coverage when Tariq ask if I wanted it 10/03. I told him I have full coverage and wouldn't need their coverage and only needed a rental while my truck was being repaired. I dropped off the rental today and left. When I made it home looked at the receipt and it had insurance declined on one line but the other personal insurance had accepted. So I call and spoke with a new person who tried to explain that it will show accepted insurance in order to get the rate of the per day lower. I explained to him that this should have been told to me as I would not have called in thinking I was overcharged. I advise to reduce any confusing with receipts explain this to customers ahead of time. He said they can go back and do decline but then the regular rate would increase and I would have been paying more. I explained I appreciate the amount being lower however that none of this was explain to me when I was renting the car which is why I called in, if it was explained I would not have called because I would have been aware it would reflect it and I had no knowledge of the original amount of what the car would have been. I thought the original price was the 139 a day. He says that the amount would have been over 500 daily for the Kia Sportage that I rented if they wouldn't have did the insurance accepted the way they did. 500 daily is a bit much so maybe he was just saying that so I would be all " thank you , thank you" He places me on what he thought was on hold and I hear the whole conversation of him and Andrew talking. Saying just ask if there is anything else she(meaning me) needs if not she will prob just leave a bad review but we can just increase the amount. Andrew goes on to explain to the newbie that he will just have to get use to it (whatever it is) and proceeds to coach him on what to say to me to get me off the phone(again I'm supposedly on hold) Andrew advises him to not to ask who check out the car because what if it was him then he wouldn't know what to do since he would be shooting himself in the foot. Andrew says we can just charge her the full amount if she doesn't like it. I'm on "hold for about 5 mins" I could hear the newbie finally coming back to phone and I can only assume he realized I'm NOT on hold because the line disconnected. So I called back and Andrew picks up and tried to explain that the line disconnected accidentally. That if a person is left on hold too long the system reboots. I let him know thanks for the "customer services " and I will not be renting from them again and that the phone was NOT on hold or mute and I heard the whole conversation between him and the new person. Mind you I was not yelling or raising my voice at either one of them, I have been in customer service before. This could have been better, understand you had customers in front of you as you explained to me but I was your customer as well. I uber to the location and had to uber back home with nothing to show for. They didn't even have the courtesy to reimburse my uber do to the inconvenience. Horrible customer service. I pre paid for a car that was over booked. I received a call saying this was the case and that they would call me back later the same day. I never received a call. I called 8 times no one ever picked up at the location. Finally spoke with the customer service line (which can literally not do anything) ended up driving over to the location to find out the car was not going to be available at all or maybe later tonight but no guarantees. I called for a refund and was given one but it will take 7-10 business days to get my money back. Never again. read more

With my experienced in renting a car@AVIS has been alright sometimes I let my husband come and pays for it too. other times I had reservation online and never had a problem when I come to picking it up. I've rented several cars from them before, and the experience has always been fairly average until now. We rented a small SUV to use while visiting family over the holidays. We brought our dogs with us, and used a full seat cover to keep any shed fur off the upholstery. The SUV was poorly maintained; among the general handling issues with the brakes and transmission, we had to replace the windshield wipers (on our own dime) to get through part of our trip that incurred rainy/snowy conditions. The audio system completely cut out on us once during the trip and had to be rebooted. To top it off when we returned the vehicle the "service" rep said that if we returned it in the condition it was in, we "might" get charged with "up to" $250 for the amount of pet fur in the vehicle. We were not told if we would get charged, or even how much the fine might be; it was completely arbitrary. We took the SUV to a nearby car wash to vacuum it, and a week later were charged with a $75 cleaning fee. There was nothing in the rental paperwork we were given that said anything about pet fur, and they claim to be "pet friendly" on their website. Because Avis seems incapable of maintaining the cars they rent out, have awful customer "service" and expect their customers to maintain and clean their cars for them, I can't recommend this company at all. I'll be going to Enterprise from now on, at least their associates are friendly and are truly welcoming to pet owners. I've never been charged for an additional cleaning fee by them. read more

Our experience was quite brief here, but that's also why I'm giving it high marks. We prepaid on Avis's website, and the entire checkout process took about 2 minutes in person. Though other customers were there, they had 3 people working the counter so we were seen right away. We provided our license and credit card, they gave us the contract, all while someone else pulled the car up. So as soon as we had the contract, we went outside, did a quick walk around, and off we went. So friendly, quick service made me happy with the experience. read more

This place refused to acknowledge the reservation that my insurance company made and charged me full price. Had to come out of pocket for $500 until insurance reimbursed me. This is not such a big deal as the fact that they are unfriendly and completely unwilling to consider the fact that their system might have been wrong. This Avis car rental on 15th Street plano Tx ..stole my money.I use a debit card for rental and pay up front but next day after I returned car they charged me while I was at work. I noticed immediately and called the manager said she would refund but after 2 days nothing, went there and she said maybe my bank is holding the money and they had refunded but nothing again. ....so my bank been following up but now they refusing to refund again claiming I returned car late the following day.How is this when I have receipt, called and they confirmed. .....that's stealing period. .....watch your account when u get charged here and they lie.....very unhappy stealing 237 dollars from a single mother is not right. ...I did not get another car to be charged another week for nothing. .... Worse experience ever! I had reserved and paid for a rental! Upon arriving, I didn't hear may I help you upon entering. After giving my debit card, the worker said I couldn't reserve a car because my credit wasn't high enough and told me to call Avis. After calling Avis, customer service found me an Avis in Richardson where the sales person was very pleasant. I immediately received the rental and drove off. I have rented many cars and have never experienced this. Richardson location is much better, more professional and looks cleaner. read more

I rented a car for the week,and returned it in mint condition, the same as I had received it. The rental was great. The problem however was with the service when I returned it. Unfortunate for me,I had not arranged a ride back home. Since I live less than a mile from the location, I asked the young man who appeared to be in charge, if one of the employees could give me a lift home. Let me add that I told him I would be more than willing to tip them for the ride. He told me that they would be unable to accommodate me because they were expecting a large amount of returns. As I looked around and saw four employees standing around doing absolutely nothing, I explained to him once again that it would take less than five minutes, gave me a look as if he could care less. He responded by saying he didn't have the personnel. If it would've have been raining outside, maybe I wouldn't have been saw irritated. Shortly before walking home in the rain, which took all of 13 minutes, a gentlemen returned a vehicle, who was clearly handicapped. He asked the clerk who was assisting him for a ride back to the dealership. The nice female clerk told the gentlemen that it wouldn't be a problem. When she announced to her coworkers that the other gentleman needed to be given a ride back to a dealership, the guy that had checked me out told her that she couldn't give him a ride because he had told me no. Problem is, they had told him they could drive him back, before he returned the car. You guessed it, they were equal opportunity jerks. The refused him a ride. When the gentleman proceeded to go slap off, I decided to leave, taking my walk home in the rain. No need to have to deal with Plano Police over a crappy walk in the rain. By the time I made it home soaked, I learned two valuable lessons. 1, never deal with that rental location again. 2, always have a ride. read more
