Friendly staff. ---- I did witness an issue with someone else in the store and was impressed with how they handled it. Situation: the person showed up at 9am to pick up a full sized SUV rental but would only accept a specific model. But their reservation was for 2pm during a holiday week. They offered to pickup the vehicle from a sister store so he could get his vehicle early. ...... what kind of dillhole shows up 5 hours early during a busy busy holiday wanting a very specific SUV and then can't comprehend the issue. I was impressed with their ability to stay professional and go out of their way to accommodate his nonsense. I wasn't having to deal with him and he was making me mad. Reservations pickup times are there for a reason and website says "or similar" vehicle No where does it say you get a specific model or trim If you need/want that then plan ahead. read more

The person who checked me out seemed to be juggling a lot when I was there (they'd just opened), but once he got settled, he took care of me quickly, and gave me a brand new car, which I appreciated! I am currently working with my banks because I paid every week was charged every week and then they hit me with 1,109 and change saying I didn't pay i brushed it off now. Terrell always gives my wife and I exceptional service. We are in the office and into our rental in a matter of minutes. I will join their reward program once I get a credit card. With debit cards you must leave a deposit of around $250 but it is returned a couple of business days after the vehicle is returned. I sign in through Amazon and on my second rental, Avis sent me a digital Amazon gift card! We also love the vehicles Avis has rented to us for roadtrips. The worst company to ever rent from. DONT GO HERE! This place had a lot FULL of cars. When I got my car, I drove it for a day and the tire pressure light turned on. I went back before my work trip to change it out where Eric said he would replace the vehicle. I went to fill up the gas and came back to him offering me a beat up minivan, saying that was all he had. They had a WHOLE LOT of cars. He shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. I was going in a work trip to west Texas driving 5.5 hours! I was livid! I ended up taking my chances with the flat tired car and had to fill up air every morning of the trip. On the way, a rock hit the windshield and there was a small crack in the windshield. When I returned the car, the associate asked me to give my insurance info which I proceeded to do. He said there was nothing left and that was it. A MONTH later I receive a $600 charge in my credit card from them for the windshield. I called them and asked why I wasn't notified about anything and just charged she said they should have notified me. She then confirmed that my email was completely incorrect. It's not often you see a 5 star rating for a car rental listing; however, if any location deserved a TEN star rating it would be this one! Mark (the manager) and staff provide the best sutomer service I have ever received from any other Avis (or any other company). They go far and above to make certain you are a very happy customer! Super easy booking, great rates (they also try to get you an upgrade if possible), convenient location (right across from Addison Airport so you can pick up after you land your private jet - lol!), and new, clean cars...good selection. If they have staff available, they will pick you up within a 3 mile radius; not a typical Avis option. They also allow small grace period for return withiouty fees. That's super great for me because I'm always on time! (blahahaha) Tip: Take mark a cold Pepsi and he just might be extra nice...as if that's possible. ;) read more

As someone who rents cars a lot due to having family stretched all across Texas, I was really happy to find this location had the best rates since before, I had to drive all the way to Las Colinas to get a rental when I live in addison! What a headache that was each time with traffic. But each time I've needed a car, even in emergencies, the Addison location has always come through even when others didn't. On top of that, I've never been upcharged, they don't try to force me to get add-ons (tolls, roadside assistance, or insurance after I've said a million times I have my own) and they don't get an attitude when you deny their add-ons either (looking at you DFW location.) The cars are always in good condition (can you believe some locations rent busted cars?), clean, no weird odors, and just overall a pleasure to drive for the hours and days I may need to drive sometimes since you can tell they maintain the cars they get very well. Did I also mention how quickly I get in and out of here every single time as well? That's whether I'm dropping off or picking up, there's no difference, and everyone there is more than happy to help even if there's only one person working and they're busy. I've even seen the staff here stop what they were doing and help each other if there were several people waiting or someone on the phone needed help. Besides all that, a few weeks back I had an emergency and the weather wasn't the kindest which resulted in me being late dropping my rental back off. I wasn't treated any differently or like I was an inconvenience even though I'm sure the weather caused a lot of shortages and they probably really needed the car back on time. They actually helped me extend the rental even during the shortage and worked with me as much as they could involving any fees or penalties. The entire time they were still kind and professional. I was extremely appreciative. Overall, one of the best I've experienced and the location is smack dab in the middle of Addison so even if there might ever be a wait for a car due to weather (we know how Dallas is), there are plenty of bars and brunch spots in the area for you to treat yourself! lol read more

So that means your only shot at a decent experience is to stay away from Eric, the "manager" The employees are polite and helpful, but Eric is the opposite If you work with him, you WILL be and up charge you, and then give you a "good deal" on it Not just for a car, but for the basics. Road side assistance, the toll program, insurance... He will insist and end all of his sentences with "it's a pretty good deal" if that was all, this place would have gotten 3 stars But after reserving a sedan, Eric not only forced an "upgrade" into gas guzzler SUV, but charged me extra for it, since my car was unavailable But it was a "good deal", even though Budget online rates were cheaper, and showing they had my original reserved car available there Oh, and good luck if you're trying to return your car a fraction of a second late. I am so sad that I have to remove Avis from my preferred list of car rental companies when traveling by car. I have always had nothing but a positive experience with this particular Avis, but I am now in a shockingly horrible situation. I originally requested to have a Ford Explorer when I booked my rental for a short trip to Austin this February. Upon my arrival, I was given a damaged Ford Flex. The gentlemen who helped me did let me know that local cars were sold out, and that if I desired a different vehicle the airport would be my best choice. I did have questions on his documentation of the damage around the car and he assured me that he wrote everything down and I would not be charged for that. Long story short, the airport traded the car out for the Explorer that I asked for. We went on our trip and the car was returned with absolutely no damage, as was done on many many other rental transactions with this exact location. Now I have a 3rd party company (Viking) calling me constantly with a horrible attitude asking me to pay a 1,000 dollar bill on a Ford Flex that I rented. When I explained that this was already documented with the company, his response is that is not what they sent me and you have to talk to Avis. When i talk to Avis they say oh sorry you have to talk to the claims department. When I called this location and asked about what happened the worker knew exactly who I was and was also confused of how I could have been charged. He assured me that in the morning the owner knew exactly how to fix this problem. When he called he too gave me the run around of "Sorry maam, I can send you my paperwork, but you have to contact the claims department". (Of which he never sent an email of his paperwork) This is a case of sorry I can't help you and just keep chasing your tail around. I am just really shocked that this company is not able to solve simple mistakes like this. Not for sure how this will get fixed, but I definitely will not be paying a dime for a car I did not damage. Usually the customer service is the best here, but this is a very serious problem that has not been addressed and fixed at all. The company put it in my hands like it is something I have to deal with and not their problem! If I could give this place ZERO stars I would, this place is a fraudulent company!! They charged my boyfriend everytime he extended his rental, which was 3 times, everytime they charged his card and there never any confirmation numbers or paperwork. At the end, they did not tell us they were going to charge his card and they gave us was a receipt. Then they charged him again, over drafting his account and they wouldn't speak to us directly, our calls were always sent to a call center. When we finally spoke to somebody who worked there, they said it was a billing issue so they charged us secretly off the books and then charged us again. Good selection of cars. Rented on a Thursday around 1pm, returned it Saturday at 1pm. I should've been charged for 2 days of rental, but since they closed at noon on Saturday, I was charged an additional day. The only option for not being charged the additional day was to return the vehicle to DFW. Very inconvenient as I was staying at the Marriott hotel off Belt Line and Dallas North Tollway. Do NOT rent your vehicles here. I should have known there would be a problem since when I arrived at the location there was a man upset about an extra charge he had on his bill. I had extra charges I did not understand on my bill. I called and spoke directly with the owner Eric which I will add had a rude tone to his voice already. When I asked about these charges he was aggressively direct and unapologetic for me being upset. I understand that all the information is on the rental agreement, but he is the owner and could have handled the situation more professionally and explained to me in a none aggressive tone instead of making me upset. At this point I understood the charges but was upset at the irritating tone the "OWNER" had. Not once did he apologize for his rudeness, he keep talking over me and repeating himself as if he were reading a script for incidents like these. I told him I would be leaving a negative review about this business and how he treats his customers he asked me "why would you do that this is my business" well Eric I own a business too and I do not treat my clients that way ever even if they are in the wrong. If a customer is upset why would you make them more upset by speaking to them like that? Now I didn't expect a refund but maybe just a more apologetic tone as to why my charges were what they were. I have rented my share of cars in my years but Jill made this rental an experience of customer service I just had to write about. we went in wanting to rent a kia sorento. it turns out there was a mistake made and the kia was more expensive. she tried to get the price we were quoted and did a good job. she had been suggesting the mazda suv saying it was a 2015 and nice, I had my heart set on the sorento because of its size.she took us out to rent the sorento and she said we would like the mazda better. after looking at the sorento and her having all the paperwork completed on it I asked if I could look at the mazda. I was in love. This is the greatest Rental Car experience I have ever had. I had my car reserved at another Avis location I needed my car 2 hours earlier and they were very rude and could not accommodate me. I called the Addison location and they were amazing. I have rented a car once a month for a week. I will never go to another location. I have a Special Needs daughter. The owner of this location Mark goes out of his way to to be amazing with her. He remembered she likes dogs. The next time we came in she was having a melt down. I just recently rent a car through Budget at the Avis/Budget Car Rentals in Addison Texas. The worst customer service ever. I reserved a Van (Chrysler Pacifica) approximately three months in advanced, only to get there on the date I was suppose to pick up and be told they didn't have any available. Then they tell me they were all recalled for some mechanical reason. That would have been believable if I did see these vans on my trip with Budget Rental Car tags. I ended up renting a Ford Explorer. The agent-Terrell that was processing my contact tripled charged me for the rental, over $1700 and then he didn't know how to refund this to my account. My funds were held up for over 4 days. And I had to travel out of town with my funds held up because of their incompetence. The Manager their claimed that he could reverse the charge. Then the agent-Terrell claimed that the Manager-Mark was going to credit my bill for all of the inconvenience this caused me. This was a lie!! They never did anything for all the frustration this caused me. I would not recommend this location to anyone ever again!! Unprofessional! Lack of training of employees!
