Just had the worst experience. When I returned the car I was told I needed to vacuum and wash it or be charged $75. The car wasn't too dirty although it had rained over the weekend and there was some dirt on the floor mats. The car was kept in the garage. Words alone cannot describe how unprofessional and terrible this Avis location is! I would NEVER recommend them, next time I have to rent a car I will go anywhere else but here. I have rented with Avis in the past and was happy, however THIS LOCATION is rotten! Complete lack of professionalism, the "manager" Sean Darbari is the rudest person I have encountered in a retail customer service based position. He not only was rude over the phone but in person. After dealing with him I would never give this location 1 penny! Also, Sean the "manager" was chewing tobacco which was sickening and again really unprofessional. If this is the image Avis wants to project then I will not be a customer here anymore. Unfortunately, my car was in the shop for repairs and I was forced to rent a car for an extended period of time. The insurance company is paying for it and this is the company of there choosing. After dealing with this Avis location I would never recommend or rent from here. Customer service is not a priority or even a thought at this location. The inside of the Rental office is dirty and unwelcoming. Hand written signs everywhere. Seriously? How unprofessional; it costs nothing to have quality signage printed. The lack of presentation is evident here. Looks like a kindergartner got some crayons and went to town. Another employee was wearing a satan shirt, another unpleasant and unprofessional act. This is a "supposed" business, not a place to push your religious agenda. This shows me as a customer the complete lack of care. My advice to salvage this location, find a new manager, get a mop to clean the place, heavily train on what's professional and what's not in the workplace, heavy customer service training, and finally invest in some signage that's not handwritten. Absolutely amazing customer service! Friendly, accommodating, and awesome! Rented a Subaru over the weekend and ended up having to extend it a day which they were super accommodating about. This site took the online coupons I had which gave me a great rate, when another local budget site did not. Showed up early when picking the rental up and they had the Subaru ready and waiting super clean and detailed. The staff made sure all my questions were answered and that I had a vehicle I was comfortable with before sending me on my way. Super big thank you to Victor for his awesome customer service when I dropped the vehicle off! I travel and rent vehicles often , and thanks to their outstanding customer service, I will definitely be back! read more

When they have a computer that is down, they don't like to notify the costumers. They just like to be in the back and let people wait 30 plus min. We had 3 people ahead of us after waiting and we just left. Had to come back. What a waste of time. Make sure you call every time when. Returning a car make sure the computer is running. Horrible professionalism when speaking to you on the phone. I felt like I was bothering the young lady that took my call by asking her questions about their rentals. They sound like they were having to much fun because they answer the phone laughing with one another for about 30 seconds before even asking" what can I help you with". Watch out for this rental car place. I filled up the rental car with a full tank of gas (until the nozzle clicked) right across from the rental place, and when I went in for my receipt they claimed my tank wasn't full and were going to charge me. I tried to explain to them the tank was full, but to know avail. I was incensed and asked for the key to drive across the parking lot to fill it up again. I overfilled the tank as much as possible for a whopping charge of $0.51. read more

Echo John G's experience: put on hold and never came back to me. Worse, the musak they play (while on hold) leaves NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that they want you to go away. On speakerphone, it had my office mates begging for mercy. Seriously: a mosquito buzzing in your ear would be less annoying. These folks do a GREAT impression of wanting to go out of business. Watch out for this place! I filled up gas ( this means until the gas pump clicked) across from this rental place. Returned the car and the agent claimed that it is not filled up I need to pay to fill up. I was incensed, asked for the key drove across the parking lot to the gas station. I overflowed the gas tank with a total of $0.51 and returned the car. The agent were not happy on what i did but prevailed and gave me the receipt. read more

I reserved a car online. I wanted to rent for one day, but it would only allow me to rent for two days. So now I have to pay double for a product. Okay, if that's the only way, I do it. When I make the reservation, they take the money from my account. When I go to pick the car up, they tell me I can't rent with my Debit card because of my credit. I confirm with the agent that it's not the money. He said it could be one a few things. I told him I just wanted to rent a car. He talked to me and ranked me along with the criminals of past stating all the things that could happen. I don't think less than perfect credit is an indicator that judges my character of whether or not I am going to commit a crime; as he stated, "could take off with a car." I came here to rent a car and now I am a potential car thief. I think it's pretty disgusting because I don't steal. I suppose through a credit check and past statistics, they could deduce I have criminal tendencies. SMH The agent asked me if I had a credit card that had at least $100 room on it. Yes, I finally have gotten my bills caught up and the bleeding has stopped. I have just been hit with the fees and interest on my card which took away available credit. So needless to say, that did not work as well. So I accepted that I would not be able to rent. He then said my money would be put back later. I asked him when and he stated it would depend on my bank. So I clarified with him that I would not be getting my money back until I called corporate and they released the money and afterwards the bank, depending on their return policy, I would then get my money back. I began to tell him that it was bullsh!t and that it was wrong how easy they took my money but I have to call corporate to get it back. So who is the thief now? He said he could do nothing and he gave me the corporate number. I inquired more of the process to clarify. He started it say it was pretty complicated. I don't know if he didn't want to take the time to explain it or that I would not comprehend or both. He then began to give me a quick overview of the process. So I told him he should stop defending a horrible system and that it was completely unfair that they put him in a bad position to not rent cars and have to deal with unhappy customers because of their "system". I told him I used to program and within their (corporate) system, they could program the system to do the same check he just did. That way a person would know right away if they could rent a car. He told me it was all in the agreement that nobody reads. I admit that I did not. It would not have helped me to know whether I could rent. It would only warn me of what would happen. There is still no mechanism that tells me If can rent "before" I paid my money. Avis is using a system that takes advantage of people. Here is what I lost. I lost the time it took to find out I was not able to rent. I lost the benefit of "my" money for I don't know how many days because I haven't gotten a refund. I lost the opportunity to shop other car rental places. The one thing that was good is the agent maintained a professional tone. I explained to him, I was not mad at him but the system he is describing and felt like he was hiding behind. So, I left there rather unhappy. I looked up Dollar Rental and was able to rent there. They had a higher deposit requirement, but I was able to rent. If Avid would have offered that, I would have done that. So at this point I will not rent from Avis even when my credit will allow it. Shame on you Avis for making it hard to do business and keep customers. read more
