If you're booking via a third part and getting a deal do it, if this is based on an option, go somewhere else. The space is small. They have less than 20 cars. On Saturday mornings, at 0900 the wait is about 10-15m and when it's HOT outside and it's already crowded, come with patience. The customer service is great. They don't look great, but their attitude is up to par. They are helpful and if they can't help they are apologetic, genuinely. I will add, these cars don't smell like hemp compared to the Avis on 10th and J. read more

Avis - Folks waiting outside bc inside it's crowded - Car Rental Near Me - Lancaster, California

If their cars looks anything like their establishment , rent elsewhere! The dirtiest car rental place I have ever been inside. It's ran down, HUGE cob webs hanging from every corner, dusty and dark, no seating and the office literally looks like it's occupied by a pig! Multiple Jack in the Box cups and wrappers all across the desk, papers thrown everywhere. Just flat out disgusting! We waited about five minutes before we couldn't take it anymore. DISGUSTING! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the Avis location on 221 Avenue J in Lancaster. The woman assisting me, who said she was the owner, was dismissive, rude, and made me feel as though I was being treated with no respect. That's all I'm going to say read more

Fire the black chubby girl as the receptionist. Her attitude was ugly just like her wig. I walked in with someone who was renting a car with them & i greeted her for her to not acknowledge me or speak at all. She just starred at me, then proceeded to answer the question the person i was with had. She wasn't helpful at all, nasty attitude, & unprofessional looking. Wig was not melted, flaky white stuff on her forehead & hairline. Even with the interaction being so short she did a horrible job and it did not feel welcoming at all. Would not recommend based off of you will have to deal with bad attitude people and most likely won't get a car because they will make up some lame excuse about a ID. Save your time & money & rent with someone else! read more

We booked a last minute van because our truck wouldn't start its my daughters 4th birthday today 02/09/24 we were so excited but when I got to Avis we had some technical difficulties with my debit card which I was able to book online the customer service agent was Donisha when I tell you she went above and beyond to me us keep our reservation she did that plus more.... :) usually from my experience can rental agents aren't the most friendliest and I understand why because ii work at hertz but I appreciate Donisha she was friendly and she has excellent customer service. Thank you for making my daughters birthday legoland trip happen. :) :) :) read more

I give zero stars! NEVER in my life have I deal with such a disgusting, I'll mannered, difficult person . Albert/ Alex (the guy who dresses like a bum ,glasses ,straw fishing hat ,a little husky . Wow don't leave a single dog hair or it's 450.00., with additional rudeness and lack of people skills. I will just say this. This guy only has a job because owner makes money off all his extra charges. I brought back car washed inside and out ,full tank . This guy found 1 kibble and almost tried to beat me up calling me a bunch of crazy ignorant things. In my face like we were going to fight . No I'm not dumb. I will say minus this person great experience for most part. This location seems to be closed a lot for 39 min to 1 hours. Had to play the hope your there game so that was a bit annoying. Last time I left a favorable review due to great service but seeing that guy they most likely left . He is really that bad. Watch out he works at the 10th St. Location as well. Try to avoid this character. read more

Don't waste your time with this location, bad service, horrible attendances, dirty cars, beware they purposely miss-write the gas reading to leave you responsible for missing fuel. That location often closes early leaving you to be responsible for an additional rental day. Another precaution, be sure to walk around the rental for damage and take pictures to cover yourself from prior damage.... Other than that, how much worse can it get..... read more

This place is a dive. Take note that it doesn't seem to do any business. It's hidden, and the employee blocks the parking lot. The medium hair length employee acts like he'd rather be elsewhere. Watch your bank records because he tends to stack on fees after you leave. The cars are filthy. Take pictures, so they don't charge for extra cleaning fees. read more

Ghetto ass place!!! Dont go there. Go to ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL at least they hv a place where u can wait inside, and the people there are professional. Here i had to park the car i was returning on the street next to a broken down parking lot cause the parking area was bloked off and had the woman that works here go out and get the car, and then so unprofessional dressed like shes the housekeeper. WTF!!!! I mistakenly booked here!! Never again!!! read more

Avis - The side of the building where you have to stand and wait for your turn - Car Rental Near Me - Lancaster, California

This Budget/Avis location is where I always get my corporate rentals from, and in the past I would have had nothing negative to ever say about it. Until recently, they have always provided me great service and a great car. Unfortunately, my last corporate rental was a different story. I rented a car for three days one way to LAX. The car they gave me must have been their oldest car and they wanted to get rid of it. I was the unlucky person who got stuck with it. When I picked it up it was behind the building in the dirt, hadn't been washed, and it smelled very musty. After driving it in LA for 2 days, the tire was completely flat. That car was a driving hazard and there was no spare tire. I took it to the nearest budget location but they didn't have any rentals available so I turned the car in one day before I had planned. I was so angry I wanted to take legal action against them for giving me a car they knew was unsafe to drive. I reported it to my manager and they are going to handle any claims. Truly unbelievable. read more

Great Service! Very professional staffing and very friendly. I was in and out when I rented a vehicle at this place. I recommend it to anyone trying to rent a car at decent prices. read more

This was an Avis/Budget rental company. They ran a credit check first before scanning my drivers license. They proceeded to tell me my license was not accepted, and asked me if I had another. I was not able to rent the car. read more

NOTE: Technically I rented a car through Budget, but I couldn't find a Yelp listing for Budget at this location, this office is a combined Avis/Budget, & this Yelp page has the right address. Although I usually enjoy renting through Budget, the young man who works here at the Lancaster Budget with medium-long brown hair made this experience particularly unpleasant. First of all, he gave me the wrong kind of car. I reserved a regular-to-compact SUV, he gave me a full-size crossover (with TERRIBLE gas mileage, I might add). I know there were other options for vehicles available, & I regret not speaking up when it was shown to me, because the car was very poor. Secondly, the employee claimed it was just cleaned & disinfected. The inside might have been cleaned, but the outside was filthy. A bit odd for a rental. Finally, returning cars here is a complete scam. The office isn't open on Sundays & doesn't have a key drop. Instead, they just charge you for a full extra day if you need a car for the weekend -- Sunday AND Monday. Furthermore, because the rental guy spent so long harassing me about the cleanliness of the car when I returned it (which again, the car was filthy when I got it!) that it ended up being 9 minutes past my pickup time when he was done talking. And he charged me a full day late fee!!!! Unbelievable. Budget corporate will be receiving an email, too. read more

Went to drop off car during their hours and they were not open they have a sign that they're going to be back at 11:15 I need to go somewhere I have a trip to be at and they are holding me behind there's no lockbox for the keys to drop off I am very disappointed and will never use Avis again.. read more

Came here today to pick up a car we rented on kayak.com and once we arrived the gate was open, so I drive inside and park, but once I park and get out of my car, both of the women inside come out rudely and say I can't park where I parked. There are no signs posted anywhere that say I can't park anywhere. They also didn't tell me where I would be able to park. Once inside they were nice to my fiancée. Although I didn't feel comfortable. read more

Do not use this location under any circumstances. I went in to pick up a car for a corporate rental and was told that they didn't have a car for me. No big deal can you call one of the other locations for me? I was given the number to the two other locations in the area and told that I could call them if I wanted to but that they would not. I was then told that I was guaranteed a rate not a vehicle. There were at least five SUVs on the lot at the time that I went to pick up my rental. I was also told that I would probably not be getting a car today because I made my reservation so late in the day on a corporate account. Again we have other choices in Lancaster and Palmdale I would strongly suggest using a location to rent a car that is not this one or this company. read more

Out of the 2 associates working, only 1 of them actually tried to have good customer service. The worker that actually put forth some effort conjured up one star. The car was a fiesta and the usb DID not work. And I did not bring the v12 charger because I knew I could use the Usb. I had to be without my phone (gps) for 2 hours. I had to stop and put air in the ire several times due to the low pressure signal. When I was returning the vehicle, I was informed that I was a little less than full and that they would either charge 10 or I needed to get more gas. I put in the the same amout of gas that I was given....maybe due to poor tire pressure...it threw the gas usage off. They asked If I was returning for a holiday special. Not again. read more

The women working were nice and professional but this location is terrible. There is no where safe to park near this business. My car was broken into and the catalytic converter stolen while parked outside their lot. Not their fault, but would suggest using an Avis in a safer location or avoid parking for extended times at this location. read more

I do not rent cars often. I made an online reservation with Avis, they charged my card and when I arrived to the location they had NO cars available to give me and had NO idea when they would be able to accommodate me. To make matters worse they did NOT offer to find another vehicle at another location for me, very rude. I was handed a 800 number to request a refund that would take 7-10 days to reverse the charges. I had to call the other locations MYSELF to try to locate an vehicle only to be treated just as if I were asking for something for Free (mind you I have already been charged). I never write reviews on companies, but I felt the need to write one this time. It was the most horrible experience EVER! Enterprise will be my future rental company. read more

I seriously had a bad service with this car rental . First they make me wait a long time and let other people cut on me then when my husband check in for his reservation the guy told him that they need to run his credit and background like what the fuck . We're renting a car not buying one so why the fuck do you need to run a credit check just to rent a fucking car . Enterprise doesn't even do that ! And then the guy said he didn't pass the credit check so he cant rent the car and I told him if I can try and he said okay so when I give him my license and debit card he said we don't take those cards I'm like wtf . I swear I try to keep my calm I wanted to go off on him and slap him because he made me wait a long ass time and let other people go before me and still didn't wanna let me rent a car like wtf ! Worst rent a car ever ! Smh thank god I kept my mouth shut cause I swear I would have got this dude fired ! Never again am I going there ! read more

I had a great experience renting a car from here. All of the employes were helpful, friendly, and very good at getting me in and out of the office quickly both when picking up and dropping off the vehicle. Additionally, the cars were all very clean and in great condition. I opted for the "intermediate" car which was a brand new Nissan Sentra and I was very happy with it. I will definitely be using this Avis again if I ever need another rental car. read more

Needed a car for the day, made reservation online the night prior. Very quick pick up of the car and quick drop off. Location does look a bit rundown, but I wasn't there for that. Seamless rental, would gladly do it again. Excellent prices as well. read more
