I've used this location at least twice in the last year. Once purely for fun and another time it was out of necessity. And each time it's been efficient and professional. This time, my car had been towed with my license inside. I came to the location with my work id, previous rental agreements, and insurance papers in the hope I could still rent the car. Dreading the worst and fearing I had wasted my time on my walk and bus ride over, I was pleasantly surprised to get the exact opposite of what I feared. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but the rep was very helpful, assured me it wouldn't be a problem and sent me on my way with my car. He was empathetic to my situation and served the customer instead standing firm on some "company policy". He even gave me the AAA discount even though I didn't have that card with me either! So thanks for the great customer service. And along with the price, the service is one reason I'll continue to use Hertz whenever I need to rent a car. read more

God AWFUL customer service. Tried to call to check the inventory almost 10 times and was hung up on each time. Drive all the way over here just for the lady (very rudely) to tell everyone in the line that she has no cars available. Mind you, would've known that had she answered the phone atleast once. The line showed up AFTER we had already came. Before hand it was practically empty. Please hire more people or more professional ones. read more

Do not rent here they never answer phones ignore you till they get off phone and refuse discounts they offer and over charge read more

Well I understand why this location has such a low score. Rating 2/5 as the last time I dropped off my rental car here there wasn't as big of an issue. I returned the car I got from LAX today to this location. I walked in, nobody was there! This location also doesn't have a traditional desk. It's in the layout of an old car dealership with several desks, however each desk is piled full of things. When someone finally came in, I explained to him that I'm just there to return the vehicle. He goes "oh okay, give me one second" and he goes out and starts detailing a car. It was so strange. I already ordered my Lyft and he was arriving. I went out and handed him the keys and had him close it out for me. I'm not waiting on a very basic drop off for you to go detail a car?! Odd. read more

Maintenance are their cars! Twice I've rented here and the oil maintenance light was on. Cars always smell like cigarettes, which I hope they hold deposits! I'll be truly honest the staff is great but they need better support from upper management when it comes to providing cars. read more

If you're looking to rent a car look elsewhere! If you're reading the reviews best believe they're true. From the moment you walk in you can feel the unwelcoming atmosphere and the workers attitude they don't even seem like they want to be there! They don't even greet you the moment you walk in. I reserved a car and it was never available what a joke. I'm surprised this place is still open looks deserted to me. Just go to enterprise it's so much better and only 3 minutes away and the staff is actually really friendly and helpful read more

Upon renting a Vehicle, Kia Forte, I was charged $340 for a week, returned the vehicle with gas as agreed, two weeks later, i saw they charged me $370 to my bank, then one week later they charged me $127, I went to see what the charges were about, but they gave me a 1 800 number that led to all animated service. I go back down a few day later, they pretend as if they don't know anything but could not look me in the eye. BAD BUSINESS, BUT IM NOT DONE I WANT MY MONEY!! read more

I would give a zero if I could. Did not have the car requested. Representative was a complete b*tch. They gave me a very old Tesla Y that was dirty and just a disaster. 85K miles on it and the battery had to be charged at least every 125 miles. The only experience I enjoyed was dropping it off. read more

Never again will I rent from this Hertz location. The car I was I received was the worst one I have ever rented. It was filthy on the inside and outside. The vehicle had interior damage and stains. The Malibu sign on the exterior was missing a letter. It was as if someone rented out their personal vehicle which they had been driving for 2 years. I had to pay for the car to be cleaned. The employee who helped me was extremely nice, but that does not excuse the condition of the vehicle which I paid to rent. read more

Answer the phone!!! And have cars that are clean, maintained and really available! They don't keep the cars in stock!

The hertz on carriage way in Palmdale was the best customer service shaunie was very polite very helpful and my experience was easy and quick I would recommend this hertz and ask for shaunie she is the best read more

Yoshani was rude, impolite, lacked proper customer service experience, and for sure lacked proper management skills. She behaved like I was at her mercy, threatened me, belittled me, and made me not wanting to do any business with Hertz anymore. She never could give me eye contact and was very unprofessional in handling a simple transaction. For a company like Hertz to keep such staffs greatly discourage me from booking from this company again. I have been a customer to Hertz for a very long time. It is very disappointing to deal with such incompetent, lacking emotional intelligence, badly trained people like Yoshani. She does not have the power to do anything yet she threatened to cancel my reservation because she could not provide me with a non EV Vehicle. I wonder why do they have 2 choices of manager's special, one mentioning EV and the other nothing. Isn't that redundant and creating issue for the customer. Your duty is to treat the customer right and accommodate the customer's request. By keeping people like Yoshani in the frontline is like you don't care about the customer. People in the frontline represent the face of your company and with Yoshani, you are greatly bringing down the face of Hertz. She needs proper training and proper education for a management job. You are just hiring anybody on the street and giving them a title. Brainless people with big tittles like Yoshani tend to think they are too powerful and give themselves too much importance. Keep in mind, Customer is King and you need to treat the customer like you want to be treated, not like trash. This is customer service 101!!!!! read more

The only reason I gave one star is because of the Rep who helped me here. A young blonde gal. She was wonderful. The rental I got (paid extra for an upgrade still managed to get a Kia Forte) trembled at 65 MPH. I called Hertz and got a case number for an exchange. Drove 15 minutes to pick it up (different location). The Rep was rude and said she only had upgraded vehicles and that Hertz would not upgrade me. I paid for the damage insurance. They didn't care. I called Hertz again. Got a rude Rep named Alex who initially said there wasn't a Supervisor available to speak to me. He then placed me on hold for five minutes. He picked up the call and then disconnected the call! I called Hertz again. Got a professional Rep named Jennifer who said she could issue a voucher so I could take the car in to be looked at. So now I have to take time off work because you aren't conducting maintenance before I get in the car!? Come on Hertz. Do better. Not to mention the car was visibly dirty, the rug had a hole in it, sun visor had stains. I won't rent with Hertz again. read more

when i went to pick up my rental, it was a flawless experience. The woman(Deborah is her name I believe) and I sang and danced, we laughed and she was excellent, provided excellent customer service and i felt very well taken care of. So when i got a flat tire 2 days before i was supposed to return my rental, i replaced it and kept my invoice to submit to Hertz for reimbursement. I live a bit out of town so I didn't expect to call them and ask them to come to me. It was only $40 to replace, i paid $300 for their insurance, I kept my receipt for the tire....and I'm an insurance agent. Did that happen? No. When I came to return my rental, she advised Hertz is filing for Chapter 11 and "doesn't want to refund me" for my tire. BUT! oh and this is where its good, if we come back to get another rental they will automatically upgrade us.... But i thought you were filing Chapter 11? This is completely unacceptable behavior. I will be filing a claim with the insurance carrier that provided me with insurance during my time of the rental period. I will never recommend Hertz, Rally Auto Group or any related business to anyone. They are an awful company that conduct shady operations on every single lot they have. read more

Okay, how do I start off this review. Let me go off why I gave them only one star as a company. This review is for the Palmdale region. My car insurance works with this company. I had the choice between hertz and enterprise so I chosed hertz. I've rented from hertz in the past from a different city and had satisfying results. This Palmdale location has NO decent car available. I was given a really disgusting filthy car that stunk of staled cigarettes , body odor and stained seats. And not a full tank of gas when I received the car. I had reservation set up by my insurance company. car was not ready when I showed up. Was told to come back in about 40 minutes. Still was not ready when we returned after 40 minutes. over an hour later we finally got a car. It was a tiny Ford sparks which barley fits my bf son's car seat in the back. Staff was very nice and I could tell they could only do what's given and provided to them at the time. Nobody could help the situation. I don't know how the staff is able to work under this type of pressure and condition. Hertz needs to provide more cars to this location. And please provide decent cars! I kept that ugly smelly car for about a week. I called a couple times and finally was able to switch it to a standard size sedan. The Hispanic male staff (I didn't get his name) went above and beyond to help accommodate my needs. I would love to give him 5 stars for this post. But I have to stay honest with the rating for Hertz in general. I had that car for about another week before my own vehicle was ready. I returned the rental with ease. No problem. I don't want to rent from Palmdale or Lancaster area in the future. From what I've experienced, they don't have the cars I need. It's unfortunate because I have to travel out far to get car rentals. read more

I was told I would have to put down a $250.00 deposit and pay for the entire rental amount too. Hertz did not tell me this in advance. There will be a hold on your credit card for about a week for the deposit. You will be better off if your insurance covers rentals. read more

We would give this zero stars if that was an option. We originally reserved a luxury vehicle of which we were supposed to be contacted by this office to confirm availability. After two days without receiving a call we had to call them and were told they would not have this vehicle available. Instead of helping me modify my reservation to an SUV they advised me I would have to contact the call center to do it. After sitting on hold with their call center for 30 mins they reserved us a 7 passenger SUV. We showed up today an hour early only to be told they had NOTHING for us except a minivan. They made no offer to check with their other office for possible availability. We immediately canceled went to AVIS and left with our SUV within 15 mins. Poor customer service and vehicle selection was null. Don't waste your time!!! read more

I will never deal with hertz again, this Debra character does not know how to deal with customers, she was very rude. After paying 1000.00 dollars to rent at a time, I don't deserve to be treated like this no way. I will be calling corporate as well because this is not cool at all. read more

This location is very dirty, looks like the ads on the walls are from the 90s, the computers are probably from the same time. The service was slow, the clerks were bad mouthing other locations. The first car I got had cigarette burns inside and warning lights on. Nobody even came out with me to show me the vehicle. The second car was a very dirty embarrassingly gross one. I had to bring it back and go to another rental place. The next day when the sprays wore off, it smelled like pee. Hertz, this is just sad. read more

Dirty cars that smell bad. The employees are unprofessional and have poor customer service. I came back in because the employee who was helping get my rental took off after he handed me the key but didn't do a check of the car for damage. I had to go back inside to find someone to do it for me. I knocked on the door to their back room cus no one was in the front. I hear the female employee say, " oh... it's that girl" like ugh go deal with her. She just had a very rude tone and didn't realize I could hear her. A male employee did the vehicle check for me. They give away cars that are previously assigned to other people. They're just unprofessional and their cars are dirty. There was soda or something sprayed inside of the car I got and he was just like, oh well lol. I needed to return my rental and called to ask if I still could (with ten mins till closing) He said, yes! Then as I pulled up he laughed and said nope. I wouldn't have driven there if I knew he'd close the door in my face. That's why I called him... he should have said, no in the first place. He told me yes then no two mins later lol. read more

Trying to rent a car? Don't go to this location. Lady didn't want to hear what I had to say about my reservation via Expedia and gave me a whole different rate, didn't even ask if had any confirmation numbers or any proof of a different rate. Just completely booked my rental for something else. The car was disgusting, I wouldn't be surprised if I caught Covid. The fact that the car was so dirty I already knew I wasn't coming back to this location. When I returned the vehicle, did not feel welcomed or anything. Felt like they just took my money and made a run for it. Would have gave them 0 stars, but that isn't allowed. read more

Legitimately the worst location ever. I needed to rent a car with insurance, and my card was ran for the price of renting a car without insurance. This prevented my card from being run again for the insurance costs, so I got stuck with the rental that had no insurance that I couldn't use, that I was forced to keep overnight and pay for an entire days of having without using it. I ended up having to take my own personal car and put mileage and stress on it for my one-week trip. I was very disappointed considering I have rented cars from this company before and didn't have any issues. There was so much unnecessary drama regarding payment method. read more

This is my first yelp ever. I rented a car from here last Monday and returned it Friday. It was super last minute and alls they had was electric or a mustang. I opted for the mustang because I'm not familiar with electric vehicles. It was super last minute. The staff was nice and quick. Car could have been cleaner and did smell a bit but I didn't mind. Fast forward I returned the car Friday and had to Uber to get my vehicle after work. I left me server book in the vehicle with 3 $100 bills that I worked hard for. I'm a single mom and $300 is a lot of money. I returned the car about 3PM they close at 5. Anyway they're closed all weekend. I called first thing Monday morning and the car was still there and they couldn't find my book or money. I know it's my fault for forgetting it but I was hoping just maybe there was still honest people in this world. Unfortunately I know without a doubt it was in the car. With that being said someone stole my money and for that reason I will not be back to this location. read more

Their online reservation process is a joke. I reserved a standard car to be picked up at noon.l When I arrived at 11:50 there was only a subcompact available. My plan was to rent a nice car to drive on an after Christmas vacation, if I wanted a subcompact I could just drive my own car.... While waiting, two other customers were asked to take subcompacts that they did not want. I asked the agent. Doesn't the reservation system take into account what is actually available?? He said no.... unreal... I declined their subcompact and called elsewhere... read more

This place sucks they are slow people they take forever they are not organized at all. I rather enterprise then hertz.

Worse rental service in all of AV!! Manager always brings up something extra bad customer service!!

The Hertz rental in Palmdale are very unreliable. We rent cars from them at least two to three times a year and every single time they have never had the vehicle we reserved. When I say never, I mean never. If we reserve a Van we end up with an SUV. If we reserve a SUV, all they have is a small van. Shame on us for continuing to patronize them but they have quality cars, if you get what you want. Today was the end for us. We paid for the vehicle, called yesterday for be sure they had it in stock. We were told yes and when we went to pick it up of corse it wasn't what he asked for. Shame on this office. You really give Hertz a bad name. Just be honest about the vehicles you have in stock and stop wasting peoples time. So off to Enterprise we go. read more
